A longitudinal modal transmission-line theory(L-MTLT) to analyze the static and dynamic behavior of two-section distributed feedback (DFB) lasers is used. The characteristic impedance and equivalent propagation constant of DFB structure with active layer are derived from L-MTLT. A two-section DFB laser is analogous to a transmission-line network, in which each section is described by transmission-line block corresponding to the equivalent factors. The longitudinal resonant condition of DFB laser based on equivalent transmission-line network is used to reformulate the rate equations so that static and dynamic behavior of two-section DFB lasers with active layer is demonstrated and analyzed accurately.
Electromagnetic simulation was compared to the measurement with a network analyzer in the cavity resonator method which has been used for determining microwave quality factor. Scattering matrix $S_{12}$ obtained from the network analyzer was compared to the $S_{12}$ obtained from the simulation. The effects of the pore and the secondary phase of the dielectric resonator on the microwave quality factor were studied. From the simulated results, the dominant resonant $TE_{01\delta}$ mode was determined and the quality factor was observed to decrease with the pore and the secondary phase in the dielectrics.

In the current study, in order to understand the dynamic response characteristics of the system according to the external acoustic forcing, a numerical approach was developed by adding an sign-sweep forcing function to the existing network model. Through this model, the sensitivity of frequency and pressure amplitude changes according to system parameters such as the physical dimensions and boundary conditions of the target combustor was analyzed in a wide frequency range. Analysis results of dynamic response characteristics of the target combustor are shown that the frequency regime with high dynamic pressure response was similar to the instability frequency range measured in the same combustor, and in particular, the response of the system depends greatly on the location of the acoustic forcing source term.

Brain tumors can also be an abnormal collection or accumulation of cells in the brain that can be life-threatening due to their ability to invade and metastasize to nearby tissues. Accurate diagnosis is critical to the success of treatment planning, and resonant imaging is the primary diagnostic imaging method used to diagnose brain tumors and their extent. Deep learning methods for computer vision applications have shown significant improvements in recent years, primarily due to the undeniable fact that there is a large amount of data on the market to teach models. Therefore, improvements within the model architecture perform better approximations in the monitored configuration. Tumor classification using these deep learning techniques has made great strides by providing reliable, annotated open data sets. Reduce computational effort and learn specific spatial and temporal relationships. This white paper describes transfer models such as the MobileNet model, VGG19 model, InceptionResNetV2 model, Inception model, and DenseNet201 model. The model uses three different optimizers, Adam, SGD, and RMSprop. Finally, the pre-trained MobileNet with RMSprop optimizer is the best model in this paper, with 0.995 accuracies, 0.99 sensitivity, and 1.00 specificity, while at the same time having the lowest computational cost.

This paper presents a novel miniaturized 3-D cubic antenna for use in wireless sensor network (WSN) application. The geometry of this antenna is designed as a cube including a meander dipole antenna. A truly omnidirectional pattern is produced by this antenna in both E-plane and H-plane, which allows for non-intermittent communication that is orientation independent. The operating frequency lies in the ISM band (centered in 2.45 GHz). The dimensions of this ultra-compact cubic antenna are 1.25*1.12*1cm3 which features a length dimension λ/11. The coefficient which presents the overall antenna structure is Ka=0.44. The cubic shape of the antenna is allowing for smart packaging, as sensor equipment may be easily integrated into the cube hallow interior. The major constraint of WSN is the energy consumption. The power consumption of radio communication unit is relatively high. So it is necessary to design an antenna which improves the energy efficiency. The parameters considered in this work are the resonant frequency, return loss, efficiency, bandwidth, radiation pattern, gain and the electromagnetic field of the proposed antenna. The specificity of this geometry is that its size is relatively small with an excellent gain and efficiency compared to previously structures (reported in the literature). All results of the simulations were performed by CST Microwave Studio simulation software and validated with HFSS. We used Advanced Design System (ADS) to validate the equivalent scheme of our conception. Input here the part of summary.

Scour is one of the leading causes of overwater bridge failures worldwide. While monitoring systems have already been implemented or are still being developed, they suffer from limitations such as high costs, inaccuracies, and low reliability, among others. Also, most sensors only measure scour depth at one location and near the pier. Thus, the objective is to design a simple, low cost, scour hole topography monitoring system that could better characterize the entire depth, shape, and size of bridge scour holes. The design is based on burying a robust, waterproofed, piezoelectric sensor strip in the streambed. When scour erodes sediments to expose the sensor, flowing water excites it to cause the generation of time-varying voltage signals. An algorithm then takes the time-domain data and maps it to the frequency-domain for identifying the sensor's resonant frequency, which is used for calculating the exposed sensor length or scour depth. Here, three different sets of tests were conducted to validate this new technique. First, a single sensor was tested in ambient air, and its exposed length was varied. Upon verifying the sensing concept, a waterproofed prototype was buried in soil and tested in a tank filled with water. Sensor performance was characterized as soil was manually eroded away, which simulated various scour depths. The results confirmed that sensor resonant frequencies decreased with increasing scour depths. Finally, a network of 11 sensors was configured to form a distributed monitoring system in the lab. Their exposed lengths were adjusted to simulate scour hole formation and evolution. Results showed promise that the proposed sensing system could be scaled up and used for bridge scour topography monitoring.

This paper proposes a new coupling element of microwave slot coupler for designing waveguide slot array which can reduce the effect of undesired higher order mode coupling between coupling and radiating slots in the branch waveguide. The proposed device is composed of a centered longitudinal shunt-series coupling slot at the center of broad wall shared by two crossed rectangular waveguides and an asymmetric compound iris that excites the coupling slot. We first have obtained scattering parameters for the proposed coupler by use of EM S/W tool HFSS and then extracted the parameters of T- network equivalent circuit for the coupling slot. We also have analyzed the resonant properties such as resonant length and normalized admittance by changing the geometrical dimensions. The measured results for the fabricated coupler with short-circuited block ${\lambda}_g/4$ away from the coupling slot are well agreed with the simulated ones.

This paper describes a prototype of 3-phase 3.3kV/220V 6kVA modular semiconductor transformer developed in the lab for feasibility study. The developed prototype is composed of three single-phase units coupled in Y-connection. Each single-phase unit with a rating of 1.9kV/127V 2kVA consists of a high-voltage high-frequency resonant AC-DC converter, a low-voltage hybrid-switching DC-DC converter, and a low-voltage hybrid-switching DC-AC converter. Also each single-phase unit has two DSP controllers to control converter operation and to acquire monitoring data. Monitoring system was developed based on LabView by using CAN communication link between the DSP controller and PC. Through various experimental analyses it was verified that the prototype operates with proper performance under normal and sag condition. The system efficiency can be improved by adopting optimal design and replacing the IGBT switch with the SiC MOSFET switch. The developed prototype confirms a possibility to build a commercial high-voltage high-power semiconductor transformer by increasing the number of series-connected converter modules in high-voltage side and improving the performance of switching element.

The cavity resonator is one of the widely used components in the microwave applications. The unloaded Q, the resonant frequency, and the coupling factor are basic parameters of a cavity. A simple unloaded Q factor measurement procedure of a cavity is proposed in a lossy coupling. The equivalent circuit of a cavity with coupling loss at near the resonant frequency is presented. The coupling loss resistance was found by the measurement of a cavity impedance. The cavity impedance compensated coupling loss was redrawn on the Smith Chart. The loaded Q and coupling factor were obtained based on the compensated impedance locus and then the unloaded Q factor was calculated. To verify the proposed procedure, the cavity with lossless coupling was measured. The two measurement results in the lossy and lossless coupling agree well. The results confirm the proposed procedure is valid.
The primary windings of the main transformer for rolling stock have several natural frequencies that can occur internal resonance with transient voltages induced on a high voltage feeding line. Factory testing is limited in its ability to determine whether or not transient voltage with various shape and duration can be excitable. This study presents the design of a high voltage windings model and simulation and analysis of the internal resonant characteristics in terms of the initial voltage distribution and voltage-frequency relationship using the electromagnetic transients program (EMTP). Turn-based lumped-parameters are calculated using the geometry data of the transformer. And, sub-models, being grouped into the total number of layers, are composed using a ladder-network model and implemented by the library function of EMTP. Case studies are used to show the layer-based voltage-frequency relationship characteristics according to the frequency sweep and the voltage escalation and distribution aspects in time-domain simulation.
