  • This paper describes a new dc-ac inverter system, which for achieving sinusoidal ac waveform make use of parallel loaded frequency resonant inverter consisting of full bridge. Each one of the pair of switches in the inverter is driven to synchronous output frequency and the other is driven to PWM signal with resonant frequency proportional to magnitude of sine wave. Since current through switches is always zero at its turn-on in proposed inverter, low stress and low switching loss is achieved. The theoretical analysis is proved through the experimental test.

  • In this paper, a new soft switching three phase inverter with a quasi-resonant dc-link is presented. The proposed inverter has a dc-link switch and an auxiliary switch. The inverter switches are turned on and off under zero voltage switching condition and all auxiliary circuit switches and diodes are also soft switched. The control utilizes PWM and the auxiliary switch does not require an isolated gate drive circuit. In this paper, the operation analysis and design considerations of the proposed soft switching inverter are discussed. The presented experimental results of a realized prototype confirm the theoretical analysis.

  • This study proposes a novel control and design method for a grid-connected inverter with an LCL filter without damping. The current resonance phenomenon must be considered when designing the grid-connected inverter system with an LCL filter. Passive or active damping is used in the inverter system to reduce the resonant current. However, passive damping reduces the efficiency of the system, and active damping methods are complex. If the resonant frequency is in a specific region, then the system will be unstable. This study examines the process of stabilizing the entire region without resonant damping. The validity of the proposed method is verified through simulation and experimentation.

  • A large number of soft switching topologies included a resonant circuit have been proposed. But these circuits increase number of switch in circuit and complicate sequence of switching operation. In this Paper, the authors propose power conversion system, DC-AC inverter of high efficiency and high power factor with soft switching mode by partial resonant method. The result is that the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. And the snubber condenser used in partial resonant circuit makes charging energy regenerated at input power source for resonant operation.

  • This paper proposes a voltage-fed high frequency resonant inverter having variable voltage variable frequency(VVVF) control function. VVVF control is performed by PWM-TRC method in the boost type chopper and PFM-TRC method in the high frequency resonant inverter. This circuit is suitable for induction heating and melting power supply in industry. The operating characteristics of this inverter are discussed from a theoretical point of view. The results of operating characteristic analyses are given leading to complete designing data.

  • RThis paper presents a high voltage capacitor charging power supply(CCPS) using a series resonant inverter. The CCPS adopted a 45[kHz] IGBT series resonant inverter using PLL control and a high-efficiency, high-voltage transformer. The performance test of the CCPS was carried out with a 14 nF load capacitor at 100[kV] output voltage and 200[Hz] repetition rate. Peak power rate of 18.75[kJ/sec] and charging time of 4.5[mS].

  • High frequency full bridge series resonant inverters have become increasingly popular among power supply designers. One of the most important parameter for a High Frequency Full Bridge Series Resonant Inverter is optimal coil design. The optimal coil designing procedure is not a easy task. This paper deals with the New Approach to Optimal Design Procedure for a Real-time High Frequency Full Bridge Series Resonant Inverter in Induction Heating Equipment devices. A new design to experimental modelling of the physical properties and a practical power input simulation process for the non-sinusoidal input waveform is accepted. The design sensitivity analysis with Levenberg-Marquardt technique is used for the optimal design process. The proposed technique is applied to an Induction Heating Equipment devices model and the result is verified by real-time experiment. The main advantages of this design technique is to achieve more accurate temperature control with a huge amount of power saving.

  • This paper presents a capacitive power transfer (CPT) system using a Class-E resonant inverter. A Class-E resonant inverter is chosen because of its ability to perform DC-to-AC inversion efficiently while significantly reducing switching losses. The proposed CPT system consists of an efficient Class-E resonant inverter and capacitive coupling formed by two flat rectangular transmitter and receiver plates. To understand CPT behavior, we study the effects of various coupling distances on output power performance. The proposed design is verified through lab experiments with a nominal operating frequency of 1 MHz and 0.25 mm coupling gap. An efficiency of 96.3% is achieved. A simple frequency tracking unit is also proposed to tune the operating frequency in response to changes in the coupling gap. With this resonant frequency tracking unit, the efficiency of the proposed CPT system can be maintained within 96.3%-91% for the coupling gap range of 0.25-2 mm.

  • It is known that transformer based power supplies for ozone generators have low efficiency, high cost and exhibits a limited frequency range of operation. To overcome these disadvantages, this paper proposes a high frequency ozone generator with the absence of a transformer. The voltage step-up is achieved only by utilizing the resonant tank. This is made possible by a novel combination of ozone chamber materials that allow ozone to be generated at only 1.5 - 3.5 $kV_{p-p}$. The input to the resonant tank is driven by a PWM full bridge resonant inverter. Furthermore, zero-current zero-voltage switching (ZCZVS) operation is achieved by employing a duty factor of 25% between the switches of the full bridge. The advantages of the proposed system include high efficiency, low cost and the ability to control ozone production by varying the input voltage to the inverter. The prototype is verified by both simulation and experimental results.
