The simultaneous determination of residual pesticides was developed using a gas chromatography. In this study, a simple and reliable methodology was improved to detect 175 kinds of residual pesticides by a liquid-liquid extraction procedure, followed by chromatographic analysis by gas chromatography. The 175 kinds of residual pesticides was classified into 4 groups according to the chemical structure, column type, resolution and sensitivity. The soybean sample selected for recovery experiment was not detected any pesticides. The recovery rates were ranged from 70.6% to 119.7% in most pesticides. The relative standard deviation (RSD 0.3~5.6%) was lower than 5.6% in all cases. The limits of detection (LOD) was lower than the maximum residue levels established by Korean legislations. The method has been successfully applied to the analysis of approximately 130 real samples.

This case report documents the rescue, clinical presentation, treatment, and recovery of pneumothorax in a female Korean water deer (Hydropotes inermis argyropus) following a vehicular collision. Severe injuries, including a confirmed rib fracture, prompted an extensive treatment plan. Computed tomography imaging confirmed pneumothorax, particularly in the left lung, necessitating thoracocentesis to alleviate the accumulated air. Post-procedural monitoring demonstrated gradual recovery, with the water deer exhibiting restored appetite after the 2nd day of thoracocentesis. Successful recovery marked by natural pneumothorax resolution allowed for treatment cessation on the 13th day after injury.

To assess the effects of filter and reconstruction of Cu-64 PET data on Siemens scanner, the various reconstruction algorithm with various filters were assessed in terms of spatial resolution, non-uniformity (NU), recovery coefficient (RC), and spillover ratio (SOR). Image reconstruction was performed using filtered backprojection (FBP), 2D ordered subset expectation maximization (OSEM), 3D reprojection algorithm (3DRP), and maximum a posteriori algorithms (MAP). For the FBP reconstruction, ramp, butterworth, hamming, hanning, or parzen filters were used. Attenuation or scatter correction were performed to assess the effect of attenuation and scatter correction. Regarding spatial resolution, highest achievable volumetric resolution was $3.08mm^3$ at the center of FOV when MAP (${\beta}=0.1$) reconstruction method was used. SOR was below 4% for FBP when ramp, Hamming, Hanning, or Shepp-logan filter were used. The lowest NU (highest uniform) after attenuation & scatter correction was 5.39% when FBP (parzen filter) was used. Regarding RC, 0.9 < RC < 1.1 was obtained when OSEM (iteration: 10) was used when attenuation and scatter correction were applied. In this study, image quality of Cu-64 on Siemens Inveon PET was investigated. This data will helpful for the quantification of Cu-64 PET data.

The SVDD(support vector data description) is one of the most important one-class support vector learning methods, which depends on the strategy of utilizing the balls defined on the feature space to discriminate the normal data from all other possible abnormal objects. This paper addresses on the extension of the SVDD method toward the problem of recovering the normal contents from the data contaminated with noises. The validity of the proposed de-noising method is shown via application to recovering the high-resolution images from the low-resolution images based on the high-resolution training data.
Background: We investigated the resolution of pain and functional recovery of shoulder after arthroscopic removal of calcific deposits in patients with chronic calcific tendinitis. Methods: We enrolled 39 patients who were treated arthroscopically for chronic calcific tendinitis that had been non-responsive to at least 6 months of conservative treatment. We evaluated clinical outcome in terms of the American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons (ASES), the Constant score, the visual analogue score (VAS) for pain. We used plain radiography to measure the size of the calcific deposits. We also analyzed the clinical outcomes in terms of whether or not a cuff repair was performed or the degree of removal of calcific deposits. Results: We found that complete resolution of pain took on average 5.7 months after the arthroscopic treatment. The ASES and the Constant score significantly improved from the 3-month follow-up, however it took 6 months until the scores reached on average 80 points or above. We found that these clinical outcomes at the final follow-up did not significantly differ by whether or not cuff repair was performed. Similarly, we found that the clinical outcomes did not significantly differ by the degree of calcium removal. Conclusions: We found that arthroscopic removal of calcification leads to improved clinical outcomes in patients with chronic calcific tendinitis. However, our findings show it takes at least 6 months for the clinical improvement to become statistically significant. We also found that concomitant cuff repairs or the degree of removal of calcification does not affect the clinical outcome of the arthroscopic treatment.

Objective : The development of magnetic resonance neurography(MRN) has made it possible to produce highresolution images of peripheral nerves themselves, as well as associated intraneural and extraneural lesions. We evaluated the clinical application and utility of high-resolution MRN techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of peripheral nerve disorder(PND)s. Material and Method : MRN images were obtained using T1-weighted spin echo, T2-weighted fast spin echo with fat suppression, and short tau inversion recovery(STIR) fast spin-echo pulse sequences. Fifteen patients were studied, three with brachial plexus tumors, five with chronic entrapment syndromes, and seven with traumatic peripheral lesions. Ten patients underwent surgery. Results : In MRN with STIR sequences of axial and coronal imagings, signals of the peripheral nerves with various lesions were detected as fairly bright signals and were discerned from signals of the uninvolved nerves. Increased signal with proximal swelling and distal flattening of the median nerve were seen in all patients of carpal tunnel syndrome. Among the eight patients with brachial plexus injury or tumors, T2-weighted MRN showed increased signal intensity in involved roots in five, enhanced mass lesions in three, and traumatic pseudomeningocele in three. Other associated MRI findings were adjacent bony signal change, neuroma, root adhesion and denervated muscle atophy with signal change. Conclusion : MRN with high-resolution imaging can be useful in the preoperative evaluation and surgical planning in patients with peripheral nerve lesions.
This research intended to estimate the damage information from torrential rainfalls using airphotos and spatial data which have been rapidly increasing their applicability recently. The study area was Bonghwagun of Gyungsangbukdo where the large amount of damages were occurred from torrential rainfall in July, 2008. For this study, the database was constructed for the study area by collecting usable data. The interpretable items from the airphotos of 40cm spatial resolution were selected. Also, the useful GIS layers such as road were selected in the digital map to extract the damage information more accurately and rapidly. The damaged area was easily identified through the comparison of pre- and post-disaster airphotos. The recovery cost was estimated by applying unit cost to the damaged area. GIS's overlay function was used to extract the damage information of for individual items damaged. The method for extracting damages information using GIS and airphotos could be more efficient and cost effective in case of relatively wide and unapproachable damaged areas. It is also expected that the method using high resolution imagery would lead to minimize the secondary damages as well since it can facilitate the damage estimation within short period of time thereby supporting early securing budget for recovery.
The purpose of this study was to validate abuse outcomes included Nursing Outcomes Classification(NOC) developed by Johnson and Maas at the University of Iowa. A sample of 71 nurse experts working in university affiliated hospitals participated in this study. They were asked to rate indicators that examplified the outcomes on a scale of 1 (indicator is not at all characteristic) to 5(indicator is very characteristic). A questionnaire with an adaptation of Fehring's methodology was used to establish the content validity of outcomes. The results were as follows: 1. All indicators were considered to be 'supporting' and no indicators were considered to be 'nonsupporting'. 2. 'Abuse Recovery : Emotional' attained an OCV score of 0.780 and was the highest OCV score among abuse outcomes. The highest indicator was 'demonstration of positive interpersonal relationship'. 3. 'Abuse cessation' attained an OCV score of 0.739 and was the lowest OCV score among abuse outcomes. The highest indicator was 'physical abuse has ceased'. 4. 'Abuse Protection' attained an OCV score of 0.743 and the highest indicator was 'plans for avoiding abuse'. 5. 'Abuse Recovery: Financial' attained an OCV score of 0.762 and the highest indicator was 'court-ordered benefits received'. 6. 'Abuse Recovery: Physical' attained an OCV score of 0.767 and the highest indicator was 'resolution of physical health problem'. 7. 'Abuse Recovery: Sexual' attained an OCV score of 0.768 and the highest indicator was 'expression of confidence with gender identity'. More outcomes need to be validated and outcomes sensitive to Korean culture need to be developed.
This paper has been studied a wavelet based still image transmission over the wireless channel. EZW(Embedded Zerotree Wavelet) is an efficient and scalable wavelet based image coding technique, which provides progressive transfer of signal resulted in multi-resolution representation. It reduces therefore the reduce cost of storage media. Although EZW has many advantages, it is very sensitive on error. Because coding are performed in subband by subband, and it uses arithmetic coding which is a kind of variable length coding. Therefore only 1∼2bit error may degrade quality of the entire image. So study of error localization and recovery are required. This paper investigates the use of reversible variable length codes(RVLC) and data partitioning. RVLC are known to have a superior error recovery property due to their two-way decoding capability and data partitioning is essential to applying RVLC. In this work, we show that appropriate data partitioning length for each SNR(Signal-to-Noise Power Ratio) and error localization in wireless channel.

From the perspective of reducing the sampling cost of color images at high resolution, block-based compressive sensing (CS) has attracted considerable attention as a promising alternative to conventional Nyquist/Shannon sampling. On the other hand, for storing/transmitting applications, CS requires a very efficient way of representing the measurement data in terms of data volume. This paper addresses this problem by developing a measurement-coding method with the proposed customized Huffman coding. In addition, by noting the difference in visual importance between the luma and chroma channels, this paper proposes measurement coding in YCbCr space rather than in conventional RGB color space for better rate allocation. Furthermore, as the proper use of the image property in pursuing smoothness improves the CS recovery, this paper proposes the integration of a low pass filter to the CS recovery of color images, which is the block-based ${\ell}_{20}$-norm minimization. The proposed coding scheme shows considerable gain compared to conventional measurement coding.
