Comparison of Different Methods to Merge IRS-1C PAN and Landsat TM Data (IRS-1C PAN 데이터와 Landsat TM 데이터의 종합방법 비교분석)

  • The main object of this study was to prove the effectiveness of different merging methods by using the high resolution IRS(Indian Remote Sensing Satellite)-1C panchromatic data and the multispectral Landsat TM data. The five methods used to merging the information contents of each of the satellite data were the intensity-hue-saturation(IHS), principal component analysis(PCA), high pass filter(HPF), ratio enhancement method and look-up-table(LUT) procedures. Two measures are used to evaluate the merging method. These measures include visual inspection and comparisons of the mean, standard deviation and root mean square error between merged image and original image data values of each band. The ratio enhancement method was well preserved the spectral characteristics of the data. From visual inspection, PCA method provide the best result, HPF next, ratio enhancement, IHS and LUT method the worst for the preservation of spatial resolution.

Adaptive Enhancement of Low-light Video Images Algorithm Based on Visual Perception (시각 감지 기반의 저조도 영상 이미지 적응 보상 증진 알고리즘)

  • Aiming at the problem of low contrast and difficult to recognize video images in low-light environment, we propose an adaptive contrast compensation enhancement algorithm based on human visual perception. First of all, the video image characteristic factors in low-light environment are extracted: AL (average luminance), ABWF (average bandwidth factor), and the mathematical model of human visual CRC(contrast resolution compensation) is established according to the difference of the original image's grayscale/chromaticity level, and the proportion of the three primary colors of the true color is compensated by the integral, respectively. Then, when the degree of compensation is lower than the bright vision precisely distinguishable difference, the compensation threshold is set to linearly compensate the bright vision to the full bandwidth. Finally, the automatic optimization model of the compensation ratio coefficient is established by combining the subjective image quality evaluation and the image characteristic factor. The experimental test results show that the video image adaptive enhancement algorithm has good enhancement effect, good real-time performance, can effectively mine the dark vision information, and can be widely used in different scenes.

The Effects of Conflict Resolution Group Counseling on Conflict Resolution Strategy and Friendship Quality of Children (갈등해결 집단상담이 아동의 갈등해결전략과 친구관계의 질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of a conflict resolution program on conflict resolution strategies and friendship quality of children. The subjects of this study were higher-grader students of elementary school. Out of the students, 18 were into the experimental group, while the rest were into the control-group. The experimental design was the pretest-posttest control group design, and the 50-minutes conflict resolution program was treated for the experimental group twice per week (a total of 11 sessions). The scale of conflict resolution strategies presented by Ha Ji Wean (2005) and the scale of friendship quality of children presented by Rhee Un Hai and Koh Yun Joo (1999) were used as the measurement tools in this study. In order to supply the limitations of quantitative data, the journals of group participation of each session and the participation reports after the completion of the program were qualitatively analyzed. The results of hypotheses verification were as follows; First, conflict resolution strategies conflict was significant difference in enhancement of the compromising-integrating strategy and the obliging strategy, and reduction of the dominating strategy. Second, friendship quality was significant difference in enhancement of the friendship positive function, and friendship satisfaction, and in reduction of the friendship negative aspect, The results of the study confirmed that the conflict resolution program affected both conflict resolution strategies and the friendship quality of children.

Resolution Enhancement for Far Objects by Using Direct Pixel Mapping Method in Curving-Effective Integral Imaging (커브형 집적영상에서 다이렉트 픽셀매핑 방법을 이용한 먼 거리 물체의 해상도 향상)

  • We proposed a new method to improve the resolution of far object image in curving effective integral imaging system. Basically, the curving effective integral imaging(CEII) system can improve the resolution of the reconstructed images with an increased sampling rate of elemental images. However, in the case when an object located far from the lenslet array is picked up, the low resolution of the reconstructed images of the far object has been a primary problem because the sampling rate is very low. In order to solve this drawback, by using the direct pixel mapping(DPM) method the EIA picked up from a far object is transformed into a new EIA that virtually looks like the EIA picked up from the object originally located close to the lenslet array. From this new EIA, highly resolution-enhanced images of far object could be reconstructed in the CEII system. To show the feasibility of the proposed method, simulation results are compared with the conventional method.

  • Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in various applications due to advantages of low cost, simplicity in construction, mechanical robustness, and little environmental restriction in usage. But the main purposes of the noncontact sensors are rather narrowly confined within object detection and distance measurement. For the application of object recognition, ultrasonic sensors exhibit several shortcomings of poor directionality which results in low spatial resolution of an object, and specularity which gives frequent erroneous range readings. To resolve these problems in object recognition, an array of the sensors has been used. To improve the spatial resolution, more number of sensors are used in essence throughout the various devices of the sensor arrays. Under the disguise of a fixed number of the sensors, the array can be shifted mechanically in several steps. In this paper we propose a practical sensor resolution enhancement method using an electronic circuit accompanying the sensor array. The circuit changes the transmitter output voltage in several steps. Using the known sensor characteristics, a set of different return echo signals provide enhanced spatial resolution. The improvement is obtained without the cost of the increased number of the sensors nor extra mechanical devices.

Resolution-independent Up-sampling for Depth Map Using Fractal Transforms

  • Due to the limitation of the bandwidth resource and capture resolution of depth cameras, low resolution depth maps should be up-sampled to high resolution so that they can correspond to their texture images. In this paper, a novel depth map up-sampling algorithm is proposed by exploiting the fractal internal self-referential feature. Fractal parameters which are extracted from a depth map, describe the internal self-referential feature of the depth map, do not introduce inherent scale and just retain the relational information of the depth map, i.e., fractal transforms provide a resolution-independent description for depth maps and could up-sample depth maps to an arbitrary high resolution. Then, an enhancement method is also proposed to further improve the performance of the up-sampled depth map. The experimental results demonstrate that better quality of synthesized views is achieved both on objective and subjective performance. Most important of all, arbitrary resolution depth maps can be obtained with the aid of the proposed scheme.

Image Enhancement Using Improved Self Degradation Restoration Method (개선된 자가 열화 복원 기법을 이용한 영상 향상)

  • Interpolation or super-resolution is used in order to restore degradation of image quality that appears after various transform of image. The method on subjective or objective image resolution improvement having low computation complexity has been being researched in many different ways. In this paper, image enhancement method using improved self degradation restoration(ISDR) method is proposed. The proposed method uses ISDR to estimate pixel value of missed coordinate in the process of image scaling, and combines the estimated loss information and interpolated image to generate enhanced result image. The proposed method shows that PSNR increases by 1.8dB, and subjective image quality is superior to other compared methods. The proposed method can be applied as a basis technique in variety of applications which requires image scale transform.

Color-Image Guided Depth Map Super-Resolution Based on Iterative Depth Feature Enhancement

  • With the rapid development of deep learning, Depth Map Super-Resolution (DMSR) method has achieved more advanced performances. However, when the upsampling rate is very large, it is difficult to capture the structural consistency between color features and depth features by these DMSR methods. Therefore, we propose a color-image guided DMSR method based on iterative depth feature enhancement. Considering the feature difference between high-quality color features and low-quality depth features, we propose to decompose the depth features into High-Frequency (HF) and Low-Frequency (LF) components. Due to structural homogeneity of depth HF components and HF color features, only HF color features are used to enhance the depth HF features without using the LF color features. Before the HF and LF depth feature decomposition, the LF component of the previous depth decomposition and the updated HF component are combined together. After decomposing and reorganizing recursively-updated features, we combine all the depth LF features with the final updated depth HF features to obtain the enhanced-depth features. Next, the enhanced-depth features are input into the multistage depth map fusion reconstruction block, in which the cross enhancement module is introduced into the reconstruction block to fully mine the spatial correlation of depth map by interleaving various features between different convolution groups. Experimental results can show that the two objective assessments of root mean square error and mean absolute deviation of the proposed method are superior to those of many latest DMSR methods.

  • 현재 고해상도의 원격탐사 영상을 이용하기 위해서는 고가의 비용을 부담해야 하고 데이터의 용량도 매우 커서 실제로 사용에는 대부분의 사람들이 매우 소극적이다. 이미 수집된 저해상도의 활발한 활용을 위해서는 값이 저렴하면서도 해상도가 좋은 분광력이나 지상해상도를 높여주어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해상도가 각기 다른 영상을 관련 자료들을 근거로 20년 전에 저해상도인 30m의 위성영상과 5m의 고해상도 위성사진과의 합성을 통하여 저해상도에서 판독할 수 없었던 여러 종류의 지형지물을 파악할 수 있는 고해상도의 퓨젼 영상을 생성시킨 것이다.

  • The block size of intra prediction mode can differentiate the texture area from the homogeneous area of image. This information can be used to enhance the size resolution of image. Specifically, in this paper, we apply the bicubic interpolation or the bilinear interpolation adaptively selected the intra prediction mode of the H.264 compression.
