  • This paper describes a lateral guidance system of an autonomous vehicle, using a neural network model of magneto-resistive sensor and magnetic fields. The model equation was compared with experimental sensing data. We found that the experimental result has a negligible difference from the modeling equation result. We verified that the modeling equation can be used in simulations. As the neural network controller acquires magnetic field values(B$\_$x/, B$\_$y/, B$\_$z/) from the three-axis, the controller outputs a steering angle. The controller uses the back-propagation algorithms of neural network. The learning pattern acquisition was obtained using computer simulation, which is more exact than human driving. The simulation program was developed in order to verify the acquisition of the teaming pattern, teaming itself, and the adequacy of the design controller. The performance of the controller can be verified through simulation. The real autonomous electric vehicle using neural network controller verified good results.

실시간 Igr 검출을 위한 센서 모듈의 제작 및 신뢰성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication of the Sensor Module for the Detection of Resistive Leakage Current (Igr) in Real Time and Its Reliability Evaluation)

  • The purpose of this study is to fabricate a sensor module to detect the resistive leakage current (Igr) in real time that occurs to low voltage electric lines and to verify its reliability. In the case of the developed sensor module, wires are inserted into the zero current transformer (ZCT) and current transformer (CT) in advance and then the branch line is connected to the circuit breaker. The measurement result of the resistance of the distribution panel equipped with the developed sensor module shows that the resistance is $0.151m{\Omega}$ between the R and R phases, $0.169m{\Omega}$ between the S and S phases, and $0.178m{\Omega}$ between the T and T phases, respectively. The insulation resistance measured at AC 500 V and 1,000 V is $0.08m{\Omega}$ between the R, S, T and N phases, respectively. Then, the insulation resistance measured at DC 500 V is $83.3G{\Omega}$ between the R, S, T and G terminal, respectively. In addition, the applied withstanding voltage is AC 220 V/380 V/440 V and it was found that characteristics between all phases are good. This study measured the standby power by installing the developed sensor module at the rear of the MCCB and switching the circuit breaker on sequentially. The standby power is 1.350 W when one circuit breaker is turned on, 1.690 W when 2 circuit breakers are turned on, and 4.371 W when 10 circuit breakers are turned on. This study also verified the reliability of the standby power of the distribution panel equipped with the developed sensor module using the Minitab Program (Minitab PGM). Since the analysis shows the statistical average of 1.34627 in the reliable range of normal distribution, standard deviation of 0.001874, AD of 0.554, and P value of 0.140, it is found that the distribution panel equipped with the developed sensor module has high reliability.

  • This research addresses a new vehicle detecting scheme which uses MR(Megneto Resistive) sensor. A vehicle detector which includes two MR sensors for detecting car presence and speed, sensor voltage amplifiers, signal processor, microprocessor, RF data transceiver and a simple car moving simulator is constructed. From experimental results with the vehicle detector the proposed vehicle detecting scheme was verified.

  • ICT 산업의 글로벌 시장을 선점할 수 있는 다음 세대의 개발이 필요한 상황이 일어남에 따라 웨어러블 디바이스의 생체 신호 모니터링에 대한 관심이 크게 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 히스테리시스가 적은 E-Band를 사용하여 단일벽 탄소나노튜브(SWCNT) 분산 용액에 함침 공정을 통해서 저항형 직물 인장 센서(Resistive textile strain sensor)를 개발하였다. 전기전도성이 부여된 e-band에 저항 신호를 측정하기 위해 만능재료시험기(UTM)과 Microcontroller unit인 아두이노와 LCR 미터를 이용해서 인장의 변화에 따른 저항 변화를 측정하였다. 원단으로 이루어진 텍스타일 스트레인 센서의 특성상 발생하는 다양한 노이즈들을 효과적으로 처리하기 위하여 신호처리 과정(Signal processing)의 노이즈 필터링의 이동평균 필터, 사비츠키-골레이 필터, 중앙값 필터들을 사용하여 센서의 필터 성능을 평가하였다. 그 결과 이동평균 필터의 필터링 결과의 신뢰도가 최소 89.82%, 최대 97.87%으로 이동평균 필터링이 텍스타일 스트레인 센서의 노이즈 필터링 방식으로 적합하였다.

Redesigning Taguchi Sensor

  • The configuration of the main components and the physical structure of the Taguchi sensor, the first ceramic gas sensor mass produced, has remained virtually unaltered since its appearance 40 years ago. This device owns an excellent combination of the quality factors but is non-selective. The research efforts carried out to enhance the selectivity in this resistive gas sensor are briefly reviewed. A novel design, Capillary-attached Gas Sensor (CGS), is introduced, which employs the same ceramic components used for the fabrication of a classical Taguchi sensor but in altered geometries. CGS presents remarkable advantages from the view point of selectivity over the original design. While the steady state response of a CGS has the same significance as that of the Taguchi sensor, its transient response presents valuable diagnostic information. Fabrication and test of a prototype CGS is reported.

  • This paper describes development of a new displacement sensor for intelligent suspension system in which the damping force has been controlled by MR fluid. Most of the current vehicle height sensors have been installed at external place of the damper and connected to that by mechanical linkages so far. The developed sensor has a new mechanism which detects movement of the sensor rod same as connecting rod in the suspension damper by using a GMR Sensor and converts it to the relative displacement from an initial position.

  • 접착테이프 형태의 액체누설 감지 필름 센서와 이를 이용하고 경보 장치를 포함한 감지 시스템을 개발하였다. 액체누설 감지 필름형 테이프 센서는 베이스 필름층, 전도성 라인층, 보호 필름층으로 구성되며, 테이프의 두께 $300{\sim}500{\mu}m$, 폭 3.55 cm, 그리고 단위 테이프의 길이는 200 m이다. 전도성 라인층의 필름에는 3개의 전도선과 1개의 저항선이 있다. 이들은 도전성 은나노 잉크를 전자인쇄방식으로 설치한다. 이들 저항선과 전도선 사이에 액체가 누설되어 전기적으로 상호 통전되면, 두 선사이의 저항변화를 전압의 변화로 계측하여 누설 위치를 감지한다. 물을 포함한 전도성 액체에 대한 누설 위치 감지에서 길이 200 m에서 오차 범위는 ${\pm}1m$ 이내이다.

  • Two types of fiber-optic sensors, EFPI(extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer) and FBG(fiber Bragg grating), have been investigated for measurement of thermal strain and temperature. The EFPI sensor is only for measurement of thermal strain and the FBG sensor is for simultaneous measurement of thermal strain and temperature. FBG temperature sensor was developed to measure strain-independent temperature. This sensor configuration consists of a single-fiber Bragg grating and capillary tube which makes it isolated from external strain. This sensor can then be used to compensate for the temperature cross sensitivity of a FBG strain sensor. These sensors are demonstrated by embedding them into a graphite/epoxy composite plate and by attaching them on aluminum rod and unsymmetric graphitelepoxy composite plate. All the tests were conducted in a thermal chamber with the temperature range $20-100^{\circ}C$. Results of strain measurements by fiber-optic sensors are compared with that from conventional resistive foil gauge attached on the surface.

  • In order to measure the oil-film pressure in sliding surface of machinery, we have developed a piezo-resistive type thin-film pressure sensor. To reduce the measurement error due to temperature and strain, the constituent of the pressure sensitive alloy was optimized and a new sensor shape was devised. In this study, we present the measurement results of the oil-film pressure distribution in engine connecting rod big-end bearing and piston pin- bosses with 3 different pin-boss shapes using the newly developed thin-film pressure sensor.
