  • The emergence of open source software (OSS) with its successful projects and its most prominent advantages creates a vast interest among academics and practitioners. However, it has been found that focusing on the developments of OSS to be successful is not adequate and the adoption of OSS by uses is also very important. Although there are a great number of useful and easy to use OSS has been developed, the adoption of OSS and usage in the market is very low. Based on the technology equity implementation model (EIM), this study examines user resistance in the adoption of OSS (i.e., switching from the current system to OSS). A survey has done regarding the adoption of Linux as the case of study. We have found that user resistance to change has negative effect on adoption intention, and switching benefits, switching costs and perceived value have significant relationships with user resistance to change.

  • This paper Proposes a new method of on-line estimation for rotor resistance of the induction motor in the indirect vector controlled drive, using artificial neural network (ANN). The back propagation algorithm is used for training of the neural networks. The error between the desired state variable of an induction motor and actual state variable of a neural network model is back propagated to adjust the weight of a neural network model, so that the actual state variable tracks the desired value. The performance of rotor resistance estimator and torque and flux responses of drive, together with these estimators, are investigated variations rotor resistance from their nominal values. The rotor resistance are estimated analytically, using the proposed ANN in a vector controlled induction motor drive.

  • This paper summarize about the auxiliary electrode measured a ground resistance. The method to measure a ground resistance is the fall-of-potential method to using an auxiliary electrode. And an auxiliary electrode must be set up on the ground. Today it is so difficult to set up the auxiliary electrode on the ground because of many concrete building and many paved roads. So this paper is regarding a trust analysis of the ground resistance measurement by the substitute auxiliary electrode. It substituted a iron structure around the building, a neutral line multiplex ground to earth, a wire net for auxiliary electrode. This information is confirmed bv compared with the measurement value.

  • The specimens which were prepared from cokes with additions of 0~25 wt% B4C were sintered in Ar atmosphere at 220$0^{\circ}C$. The effects of B4C content on graphitization and oxidation resistance of cokes were investigated. B4C accelerates the graphitization of cokes and at 220$0^{\circ}C$ the degree of graphitization increased from 0.33 which is the value of pure carbon to 0.56, which increased bluk density and porosity. Especially bending strength increased as th graphitization temperature increased. Oxidation resistance property was greatly improved when B4C was added more than 10wt% at 80$0^{\circ}C$ and when B4C was added more than 20wt% at 100$0^{\circ}C$. This was because that the thin layer of B2O3 glass phase on the surface of the composite could be identified to increase the oxidation resistance.

  • The effect of pH (7, 5 and 4) and nisin (100 and 200IU/ml) on heat resistance of Listeria monocytogenes Scott A were determined using citrate-phosphate buffer system. Heat resistance of vegetative and starved cell was decreased as pH value was lower at 65 and 72C. Starved L. monocytogenes was more resistant than vegetative cell at both temperature. Heat resistance of vegetative and starved cell was decreased significantly with treatment of nisin. The effect of nisin was increased significantly at low pH(5, 4). Adherent microcolony was more resistant to heat and nisin than planktonic cell. Contamination of L. monocytogenes may be prevent by using nisin in food and food processing environments.

  • This paper presents an algorithm that the gain of the slip calculator is correctly adjusted for the variation of the rotor resistance. In the indirect field oriented controller, if the gain (rotor resistance) of the slip calculator is set the incorrect value, the torque and the flux are not properly controlled. Using of the two torque angles (i.e. stationary torque angle and rotating torque angle), we estimate the rotor resistance, and then adjust the gain of the slip calculator for the variation of the rotor resistance. It has been realized to confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm by the simulation results.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the resistance conditions on the electromyography (EMG) activity ratio of vastus medialis oblique (VMO) and vastus lateralis (VL) muscle during partial lunge exercise in healthy subjects in order to suggest the basic data of exercise intervention for such as patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Methods: The participants of this study were healthy twenty two people with no knee pain, limitation of motion and past history of operation at lower extremity. The participants performed three types of lunge 1) no resistance, 2) anterolateral 45° resistance and 3) lateral 90° respectively. The EMG activity of the VMO and VL were recorded by surface EMG and the measured data normalized by the %MVIC value was analyzed by repeated measured ANOVA. Results: The results showed that the VMO/VL EMG activity ratio during lunge with anterolateral 45° resistance was significantly higher than with no resistance and lateral 90° resistance (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in VMO, VL, and VMO/VL muscle activity between male and female subjects (p>0.05). Conclusion: This study suggests that partial lunge exercise with anterolateral 45° resistance can increase the VMO/VL muscle activity in healthy subjects. This result could be used as basic data to develop therapeutic exercise programs such as PFPS patients.

  • It has been observed that coated steel structures are rapidly deteriorated than designed lifetime due to acid rain caused by air pollution etc.. Therefore improvement of corrosion resistance of anti-corrosive paint is very important in terms of safety and economic point of view. In this study corrosion resistance for five kinds of anti-corrosive paints including acryl, fluorine and epoxy resin series were investigated with electrochemical methods such as corrosion potential, polarization curves, impedance and cyclic voltammogram measurements etc.. There were somewhat good relationships between values measured by electrochemical methods such as corrosion current density obtained by cathodic and anodic polarization curves, value of impedance estimated with AC impedance, and polarization resistance on the cyclic voltammogram, for example, corrosion current density was decreased with increasing of values of impedance and polarization resistance on the cyclic voltammogram. However their relationships between corrosion current density and corrosion potential were not well coincided each other. Consequently it is considered that although a corrosion potential of F101 of fuoric resin series shifted to negative direction than other anti-corrosive paints, its corrosion resistance, indicating on the cathodic and anodic polarization curves, AC impedance curves and cyclic voltammogram, was the most superior to other paints, whereas A100 containing arcylic resin showed a relatively poor corrosion resistance compared to other paints.

  • This paper presented an experimental study of slip resistance characteristics of shoes and floor surface contact with special focus on the effect of surface roughness, outsole material and mechanical abrasion. The factors that affected the results of slip resistances were investigated for four kinds of rubbers and five kinds of floor samples using the VIT(English XL) tribometer. The slip resistance was observed to increase gradually with increasing roughness for five kinds of floor roughness. In the higher surface roughness (larger than $11.5{\mu}m$), the slip resistance increased more rapidly and exceeded safety criteria at $22.60{\mu}m$. The slip resistance was observed to decrease with increasing hardness of outsole, except for butylenes rubber, which seemed to show the material property. The slip resistance decreased with number of trials. In the first several times(5 or 6 trial), the slip resistance decreased more rapidly, whereafter it approached gradually constant value. The slip resistance of surfaces has generally been shown to increase with floor surface roughness and to decrease with hardness of outsole and number of trials under the wet condition.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a strain sensor based on a nanoweb by applying electrical conductivity to a polyurethane nanoweb through the use of Graphene. For this purpose, 1% Graphene ink was pour-coated on a polyurethane nanoweb and post-treated with PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) to complete a wearable strain sensor. The surface characteristics of the specimens were evaluated using a field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) to check whether the conductive material was well coated on the surface of the specimen. Electrical properties of the specimens were measured by using a multimeter to measure the linear resistance of the specimen and comparing how the line resistance changes when 5% and 10% of the specimens are tensioned, respectively. In order to evaluate the performance of the specimen, the gauge factor was obtained. The evaluation of the clothing was performed by attaching the completed strain sensor to the dummy and measuring the respiration signal according to the tension using MP150 (Biopac system Inc., USA) and Acqknowledge (ver. 4.2, Biopac system Inc., U.S.A.). As a result of the evaluation of the surface characteristics, it was confirmed that all the conductive nanoweb specimen were uniformly coated with the Graphen ink. As a result of measuring the resistance value according to the tensile strength, the specimen G, which was treated with just graphene had the lowest resistance value, the specimen G-H had the highest resistance value, and the change of the line resistance value of the specimen G and the specimen G-H is increased to 5% It is found that it increases steadily. Unlike the resistance value results, specimen G showed a higher gauge rate than specimen G-H. As a result of evaluation of the actual clothes, the strain sensor made using the specimen G-H measured the stable peak value and obtained a signal of good quality. Therefore, we confirmed that the polyurethane nanoweb treated with Graphene ink plays a role as a breathing sensor.
