저강도 저항운동의 속도 차이가 비만중년여성의 신체조성, 근활성도 및 근력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Low Intensity Resistance Training Speed on Body Composition, Muscle Activity and Muscle Strength in Obese Middle-aged Women)

  • 이 연구에서는 비만중년여성을 대상으로 저강도 저항운동의 속도 차이가 신체조성, 근활성도 및 근력에 미치는 영향을 검토하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 비만중년여성 24명을 일반속도의 저항운동집단(normal resistance training speed group; NSG, n=12) 및 느린속도의 저항운동집단(slow speed resistance training group; SSG, n=12)으로 무작위 분류하였다. NSG는 신장성 수축 1초, 등척성 수축 1초 및 단축성 수축 1초의 총 3초간으로 구성하여 35회 3세트를 실시하였으며, SSG는 신장성 수축 3초, 등척성 수축 1초 및 단축성 수축 3초의 총 7초간으로 구성하여 15회 3세트를 실시하였다. 1RM 30%의 저강도 저항운동은 두 집단 모두 동일하게 세트 당 105초, 세트 간 1분 및 운동 간 3분의 휴식시간, 그리고 주 2~3회의 4주간에 걸쳐서 실시하였다. 신체조성, 근활성도 및 근력은 운동전과 운동 4주후에 각각 동일한 방법으로 측정하였다. 신체조성에서 NSG는 WHR에서, SSG는 체지방률에서 운동 전과 비교하여 운동 후에 각각 유의하게 감소하였다(p<.05). 근활성도에서 NSG 및 SSG는 위팔두갈래근, 안쪽넓은근 및 가쪽넓은근에서 운동 전과 비교하여 운동 후에 각각 유의하게 감소하였다(p<.01, p<.05). 근력에서 NSG 및 SSG는 biceps curl 및 leg extension에서 운동 전과 비교하여 운동 후에 각각 유의하게 증가하였다(p<.01). 하지만 신체조성, 근활성도 및 근력은 집단 간의 비교에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 이 연구에서 신체조성, 근활성도 및 근력은 저항운동의 속도차이(반복횟수)보다는 저항운동의 수행시간(근수축 발생시간)과 밀접한 관련성이 있을 가능성이 시사되었다.

Consumption of a high-fat-high-sucrose diet partly diminishes mechanical and structural adaptations of cardiac muscle following resistance training

  • [Purpose] The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a high-fat high-sucrose (HFHS) diet on previously reported adaptations of cardiac morphological and contractile properties to resistance training. [Methods] Twelve-week-old rats participated in 12-weeks of resistance exercise training and consumed an HFHS diet. Echocardiography and skinned cardiac muscle fiber bundle testing were performed to determine the structural and mechanical adaptations. [Results] Compared to chow-fed sedentary animals, both HFHS- and chow-fed resistance-trained animals had thicker left ventricular walls. Isolated trabecular fiber bundles from chow-fed resistance-trained animals had greater force output, shortening velocities, and calcium sensitivities than those of chow-fed sedentary controls. However, trabeculae from the HFHS resistance-trained animals had greater force output but no change in unloaded shortening velocity or calcium sensitivity than those of the chow-fed sedentary group animals. [Conclusion] Resistance exercise training led to positive structural and mechanical adaptations of the heart, which were partly offset by the HFHS diet.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of 12 weeks of circuit training on inflammatory markers, blood lipids, and body composition of obese middle-aged women. Methods : Twenty-four obese women were randomly divided into three groups (circuit exercise training, CT; aerobic exercise training, AT; resistance exercise training, RT). All the subjects participated in the exercise program for 60 minutes, 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Results : Significant differences found in the participants pre-and post exercise training C-reactive protein (CRP), fibrinogen, and adiponectin levels. The CT participants experience an expected increase in their adiponectin levels. Significantly improved blood TC, LDL-C, HDL-C, and TG levels were found after 12 weeks of exercise. The AT and CT groups showed greater improvements in their HDL-C, LDL-C, and TG levels than the RT group. Significant differences were found in the participants pre-and post-exercise training body weight, body fat percentage, and body mass index (BMI). Conclusion : The CT participants body fat percentages decreased more than the RT group's percentages. In conclusion, obese women who completed 12 weeks of circuit exercise training (aerobics + resistance exercise) had significant improvements in their inflammatory markers, blood lipids, and body fat percentage.

Construction of sports engineering structures with high resistance to improve the quality of sports training

  • The textile industry has benefited from nanotechnology in various fields of application as the use of nanomaterials, and nanotechnology is multiplying. Nanoparticles can increase the performance of textiles by up to 100 times when used in finishing, coating, and dyeing techniques, providing them with capabilities they did not previously possess. Nanotechnology is used in the textile chemical industry to produce sports mats with stain resistance, flame resistance, wrinkle resistance, moisture management, antimicrobial quality, and UV protection. The incorporation of nanomaterials into fabrics can have a significant effect on their properties, including shrinkage, strength, electrical conductivity, and flammability. Various inventions and innovations may result from nano-processed textiles in the future, thus leading to the advancement of science. This article presents the construction of sports engineering structures with high resistance to improve the quality of sports training. The mechanical properties of sports mats are improved with the help of nanotechnology. Strength, elasticity, and tear resistance are among these properties. This method enables the production of elastic, durable, and tear-resistant sports mats.

건강한 젊은 성인에서 8주 규칙적인 저항성 트레이닝이 산화질소(NO) 농도와 평균동맥압(MAP)에 미치는 영향 (Effects of 8 Weeks Resistance Training on Nitric Oxide (NO) Concentration and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in Young Men)

  • 결과적으로 본 연구에서 서로 다른 두 집단(RTG, ATG)의 비교시 저항성 트레이닝 집단(RTG)보다 유산소 트레이닝 집단(ATG)에서 산화질소(NO) 농도가 더 높게 나타났으며, 이는 지속적인 유산소 형태의 트레이닝이 간헐적인 저항성 형태의 트레이닝 보다 더 많은 산화질소(NO)가 생성 된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 심박수(HR)와 혈압(BP), 평균동맵압(MAP)의 감소에도 저항성 트레이닝(RT)보다는 유산소 트레이닝(AT)이 효과적이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 유산소 트레이닝(AT)에 비해 저항성 트레이닝(RT)에서 유의하진 않았지만 산화질소(NO) 농도가 증가된 것은 주목할 만한 결과이다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때, 단기간일 지라도 혈관이완 및 자율신경계 도움을 줄 수 있는 것은 유산소 트레이닝(AT) 임을 알 수 있었고 이는 일반적으로 운동을 선택할 시(근력과 근비대를 제외한 운동) 도움을 줄 수 있다고 사료된다. 또한 추후 연구에서는 12주 이상의 장기간의 트레이닝을 통해 저항성 트레이닝(RT)이 혈관이완의 직접적인 척도인 산화질소(NO) 농도에 관한 연구가 필요시 된다.

Effects of Elastic Band Resistance Training on Muscle Strength among Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of elastic band resistance training for muscle strength among community-dwelling older adults. The systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted by following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Data were pooled using fixed effect models. Sit to stand, arm curl, and grip strength were analyzed for main effects. Heterogeneity between studies was assessed using the I2 statistics and publication bias was evaluated by funnel plots. Twelves studies were included representing 611 participants. Elastic band resistance training was effective for lower (d=3.89, 95% CI: 3.03, 4.75) and upper extremity muscle strength (d=4.08, 95% CI: 2.94, 5.23). Heterogeneity was moderate and no significant publication bias was detected. Based on these findings, there is clear evidence that elastic band resistance training has significant positive effects on muscle strength among community-dwelling older adults. Further study will be needed to perform subgroup analysis using number of sessions and exercise intensity as predictors.

고령자 ADL 개선을 위한 기능적 운동 분석 및 선정 (Analysis of Functional Status and Determination for Improvement of ADLs: Korean Elderly)

  • Muscular strength in the elderly is important factors deciding on functional state in daily lives, and functional state shows a health condition. Resistance training to prevent loss of muscle mass and muscle fiber atrophy due to aging can increase muscle mass and strength. Recently, resistance training to improve muscular strength and endurance has been actively researched. Resistance training increases activities of daily living and ability of the elderly, which makes healthy senescent. ADL/IADL is suitable for measuring health condition of the elderly. In this study, target muscles of resistance training were chosen through a correlation analysis between ADLs and elementary motion, and we presented a procedure to select target muscles and exercise equipments. This procedure consist of a survey method that were described detailed motion of ADL/IADL. So we should be to extract resistance training machine to improve functions of regarding fundamental motion. Result of study may improve daily life activities of the elderly through objectives and scientific approaches. Furthermore, it will be helpful to studies about various fields of the elderly.

Effects of 8-Week Resistance Training on Neuromuscular Fatigue in Young and Middle-Age Men

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 8-week resistance training on muscle fatigue in men in their 50s and 30s. A total of 16 subjects (8 in their 30s and 8 in their 50s) were recruited, and moderate-intensity resistance exercise was conducted three times a week for eight weeks. EMG was measured before and after 8 week resistance training. Before 8 weeks exercise, MDF of pectoralis major significantly decreased in all groups, and MDF of triceps brachii significantly decreased only in the 30s group. After 8 weeks of exercise, MDF of pectoralis major significantly decreased in all groups, and MDF of triceps brachii significantly decreased only in the 30s group. The fatigue index before and after the 8-week exercise was changed only in the pectoralis major, and significantly decreased in the 30s group. As a result, the muscle fatigue level among the resistance exercises of men in their 50s may be similar to that of men in their 30s, and muscle fatigue can be reduced by 8 weeks of exercise.

저항성 훈련이 노화흰쥐의 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Resistance Training on BMD and Bone Metabolism Related Markers in Aging Rats)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 12주간 저항성훈련에 따른 노화 흰쥐의 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표에 미치는 영향을 관찰하는 것이다. 생후 64 주령의 Sprague-Dawley계 노화 흰쥐(체중 565±3.12)를 대조군(n=10)과 저항성 훈련군(부하 없는 저항성 훈련군(n=10)과 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군(n=10)으로 분류하여 주 4회 12주간 사다리 오르기 훈련을 실시한 후 골밀도 및 골대사 관련 지표의 변화를 측정한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 대퇴골의 회분 및 칼슘 햠량은 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순으로 유의하게 증가하였으며, 세 집단간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 인지질 함량은 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군, 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순서로 나타났는데, 대조군에 비교하여 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군에서만 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 골강도와 osteocalcin 농도는 부하 있는 저항성 훈련군>부하 없는 저항성 훈련군>대조군 순으로 유의하게 증가하였으며, 세 집단간 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 본 연구를 종합하면 노화 흰쥐에서 12주간 저항성훈련은 대퇴골밀도와 골대사관련 지표에 유익한 효과를 나타내는데 이러한 결과는 저항성훈련으로 인한 골밀도의 증가는 골재흡수의 지표인 osteocalcin 과 골의 기계적구조의 변화뿐만 아니라 훈련의 강도(training intensity)가 중요한 매개 요인임을 알 수 있었다.
