Factors Influencing Post-Adoption Resistance to Self-Order Kiosks at Fast-Food Restaurants: A Focus on the New-Silver Generation

  • Due to the phenomenon of aging, a new consumer segment known as the "new-silver generation" is emerging. Unlike the previous silver generation, this generation possesses significant economic power and consuming willingness, attracting attention from consumer goods companies. However, both the new-silver generation and the elderly face challenges in adopting contactless or self-service technologies such as self-order kiosks, resulting in negative reactions. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the attitude and response of the newsilver generation towards kiosks, as well as the factors influencing their resistance to such technology. By applying theoretical perspectives from the innovation resistance model, technostress theory, and the value-based model, this study identifies influencing factors for innovation resistance among the new-silver generation when using contactless technologies implemented in fast-food restaurants. The findings indicate that a lower awareness of new technologies and services corresponds to decreased adoption resistance, while a higher perceived value leads to more positive behaviors and attitudes among the new-silver generation utilizing kiosks at fast-food restaurants.

반응표면분석법을 이용한 전도성물질의 절연코팅 프로세스의 최적화 (Optimization of Process Variables for Insulation Coating of Conductive Particles by Response Surface Methodology)

  • 전도성 물질인 철 입자(iron particles)를 절연체로 코팅하여 제작한 압분자심(powder core)은 비저항이 작기 때문에 고주파 영역에서 와전류 손실이 크다. 이 결함을 해결하기 위해서는 압분자심의 비저항을 증가시킬 필요가 있다. 이 연구에서는 압분자심의 비저항을 증가시키기 위하여 유성볼밀을 사용하여 전기전도성 철 입자에 산화제2구리를 코팅하였다. 반응표면분석법을 사용하여 코팅변수를 최적화하였다. 최적화 시 인자는 CuO 질량분율, 밀 회전 수, 코팅시간, 볼 크기, 볼 질량, 시료 질량이며, 반응변수는 비저항이었다. 6인자-일부요인배치법에 의하면 주된 인자는 CuO 질량분율, 밀 회전 수, 코팅시간이었다. 3-인자 완전요인배치법과 최대경사법을 사용하여 3개 인자의 수준을 선정하였다. 최대경사법을 사용하여 최고의 비저항을 갖는 영역에 접근하였다. 최종적으로 Box-Behnken법을 사용하여 스크린한 인자들의 반응표면을 분석하였다. Box-Behnken법 결과에 의하면 CuO 질량분율과 밀 회전 수가 코팅공정 효율에 영향을 주는 주요 인자이었다. CuO 질량분율이 증가함에 따라 비저항은 증가하였다. 그에 반해서 밀 회전 수가 감소함에 따라 비저항은 증가하였다. 코팅공정을 최적화한 모델로부터 계산한 예측값과 실험값과는 통계적으로 유의하게 일치하였다($Adj-R^2=0.944$). 비저항의 최고값을 갖는 코팅조건은 CuO 질량분율은 0.4, 밀 회전 수는 200 rpm, 코팅시간은 15분이었다. 이 조건에서 코팅한 정제의 비저항 측정값은 $530k{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$이었다.

솔잎혹파리 피해임지내 수목의 외형적 인자와 관련한 수세변동과정 해석 (The Study on Vigor and External Factors of Tree in Damaged Pine Stands by Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye)

  • 본 논문은 솔잎혹파리 피해임지에서 수목의 외형적인자(수고, 수관폭, 흉고직경, 지하고)와 shigometer를 이용한 전기 저항치 ($k{\Omega}$)의 관계를 조사하였다. 외형적인자와 저항치간의 관계는 수고, 수관폭, 흉고직경은 높은 상관관계가 있었고, 지하고는 뚜렷한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 수고, 수관폭, 흉고직경은 큰 수목이 전기저항치가 낮았고(수목의 활력이 높음) 작은 수목이 전기저항치가 높았다(수목의 활력이 낮음). 솔잎혹파리 피해임지의 고사목과 생존목을 비교하면 고사목이 생존목에 비하여 수관폭과 흉고직경의 크기는 작았고, 지하고는 높았다. 전기저항치를 3등급으로 구분 한 결과(< $14{\Omega}$, 생존가능성 양호, $14{\sim}20{\Omega}$, > $20k{\Omega}$고사 가능성 있음), 외형적인자의 크기는 낮은등급(< $14{\Omega}$)에서 수고, 수관폭, 흉고직경이 컸으며, 지하고는 낮았다. 조사한 외형적인자와 수세와의 관계를 직선회귀 방정식으로 산출한 결과 Y=-0.572${\times}$수고-1.163${\times}$수관폭-0.242${\times}$흉고직경+0.757${\times}$지하고+25.765이였으며 이들의 회귀식은 5%의 수준에서 유의성이 인정된다.

ERP 시스템에 대한 조직 구성원의 저항에 관한 연구 (A Study on Resistance to the Adoption of ERP Systems)

  • This study analyses the level of resistance which workers have against the adoption of ERP systems and the factors affecting the resistance to the adoption of the new systems. The major results of the study include 1) about 40% of workers showed resistance to the adoption of ERP systems, and 2) all six factors (technical characteristics of ERP system, functional characteristics of ERP system, implementation approach, task changes caused by the adoption of ERP system, attitude toward change, and altitude toward organization) were proved to affect the resistance to the adoption of the ERP systems. In practice, adoption of ERP system brings significant changes to workers. In order for an organization to succeed, it is necessary to reduce the resistance of workers. Since this study is performed based on a case study, the results of the study may not be generalized. However, the results of the study may provide guidance which organizations can refer in the course of effective personnel management.

Insulin resistance and Alzheimer's disease

  • Emerging data demonstrate pivotal roles for brain insulin resistance and insulin deficiency as mediators of cognitive impairment and neurodegeneration, particularly Alzheimer's disease (AD). Insulin and insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) regulate neuronal survival, energy metabolism, and plasticity, which are required for learning and memory. Hence, endogenous brain-specific impairments in insulin and IGF signaling account for the majority of AD-associated abnormalities. However, a second major mechanism of cognitive impairment has been linked to obesity and Type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Human and experimental animal studies revealed that neurodegeneration associated with peripheral insulin resistance is likely effectuated via a liver-brain axis whereby toxic lipids, including ceramides, cross the blood brain barrier and cause brain insulin resistance, oxidative stress, neuro-inflammation, and cell death. In essence, there are dual mechanisms of brain insulin resistance leading to AD-type neurodegeneration: one mediated by endogenous, CNS factors; and the other, peripheral insulin resistance with excess cytotoxic ceramide production.

Applicability of Mini-Cone Penetration Test Used in a Soil Box

  • In this study, we conducted verification of key influencing factors during cone penetration testing using the developed Mini Cone Penetration Tester (Mini-CPT), and compared the experimental results with empirical formulas to validate the equipment. The Mini-CPT was designed to measure cone penetration resistance through a Strain Gauge, and the resistance values were calibrated using a Load Cell. Moreover, the influencing factors were verified using a model ground constituted in a soil box. The primary influencing factors examined were the boundary effect of the soil box, the distance between cone penetration points, and the cone penetration speed. For the verification of these factors, the experiment was conducted with the model ground having a relative density of 63.76% in the soil box. It was observed that the sidewall effect was considerably significant, and the cone penetration resistance measured at subsequent penetration points was higher due to the influence between penetration points. However, within the speed range considered, the effect of penetration speed was almost negligible. The measured cone penetration resistance was compared with predicted values obtained from literature research, and the results were found to be similar. It is anticipated that using the developed Mini-CPT for constructing model grounds in the laboratory will lead to more accurate geotechnical property data.

영업사원의 SFA(영업자동화시스템)에 대한 저항에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Factors Influencing on the Salesperson's Resistance to SFA)

  • Sales Force Automation (SFA) is a strategic information system and one of the components of operational CRM system. SFA supports salespeople's activities such as selection of potential customers, creative value proposition, after-sales services, etc. SFA is increasingly used in many companies because it has the advantages to raise the salespeople's productivity by developing forecasting ability, value proposition ability, after sales service ability etc. Many researches have shown that implementation of SFA leads to the increase of salepeople performance, organizational performance, and quality of customer relationship. However, Some prior studies have discussed on the SFA implementation failure and pointed out that one of important causes of this failure is salespeople's resistance to SFA. Although many researches explain SFA acceptance phenomenon using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), these researches didn't deeply investigate the salespeople's resistance to SFA. Therefore, this study focuses on the factors influencing salespeople's resistance to SFA and the relationships among these factors. This study identified three factors (salespeople's perceived loss of power, perceived loss of autonomy, and perceived time and effort waste) influencing salespeople's resistance to SFA. The hypotheses testing results showed that salespeople's perceived loss of power and perceived time and effort waste significantly increased salespeople's resistance to SFA. And salespeople's perceived loss of power plays a mediating role between perceived loss of autonomy/perceived time and effort waste and salespeople's resistance to SFA. At the end of the paper, theoretical and managerial implications of this study and the limitations and future research directions are discussed.

Association between Beta-lactam Antibiotic Resistance and Virulence Factors in AmpC Producing Clinical Strains of P. aeruginosa

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of IMP and OXA genes in clinical strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) that are carriers of the ampC gene. Methods: In this study, 105 clinical isolates of P. aeruginosa were collected. Antibiotic resistance patterns were determined using the disk diffusion method. The strains carrying AmpC enzymes were characterized by a combination disk method. Multiplex-PCR was used to identify resistance and virulence genes, chi-square test was used to determine the relationship between variables. Results: Among 105 isolates of P. aeruginosa, the highest antibiotic resistance was to cefotaxime and aztreonam, and the least resistance was to colictin and ceftazidime. There were 49 isolates (46.66%) that showed an AmpC phenotype. In addition, the frequencies of the resistance genes were; OXA48 gene 85.2%, OXA199, 139 3.8%, OXA23 3.8%, OXA2 66.6%, OXA10 3.8%, OXA51 85.2% and OXA58 3.8%. The IMP27 gene was detected in 9 isolates (8.57%) and the IMP3.34 was detected in 11 isolates (10.47%). Other genes detected included; lasR (17.1%), lasB (18%) and lasA (26.6%). There was a significant relationship between virulence factors and the OX and IMP genes ($p{\leq}0.05$). Conclusion: The relationship between antibiotic resistance and virulence factors observed in this study could play an important role in outbreaks associated with P. aeruginosa infections.

1차 동저항 패턴의 통계적 분석에 의한 저항 점 용접의 용접 품질 예측에 관한 연구 (Weld Quality Assurance Method using Statistical Analysis of Primary Dynamic Resistance During Resistance Spot Welding)

  • In previous studies, the dynamic resistance, which was calculated by the process variables measured at the electrode of the welding machine, and the electrode displacement were used for quality exa mination. However, in-process usage of such systems is not effective in systems that include a welding gun attached to a robot. In order to overcome such problems, we obtained and used the process variables from the welding machine timer. This would allow us to estimate real time in -process weld quality. For quality estimation, the features were extracted as factors from the primary dynamic resistance patterns, which were measured in t he welding machine timer. The relationship between the indexes and nugget size of the welds was observed through the regression analysis. Using the analyzed factors, a regression model that could estimate nugget diameter was developed. Two regression equations of the model were suggested depending on the factors, and it was showed that the model developed by stepwise method was effective one for weld quality estimation. The developed estimation model was in good linearity with the nugget diameter obtained through the experimentation.

변이율을 활용한 접지저항 측정 기술 (Ground Resistance Measurement Technology Utilizing the Variation Rate)

  • 접지의 성능을 결정하는 기본 요소인 접지저항을 측정하는 것은 성능평가를 위한 중요한 기술이 된다. 접지저항의 정확한 측정을 위하여는 측정 환경상 고려하여야 할 주요한 변수들이 있는데 실제의 측정 현장에서 이러한 변수들을 알고 측정하기는 곤란한 것이 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 3점전위강하법상의 전류전극에 이르기까지 나타나는 전위차 특성 곡선에 대하여 측정 환경 변수의 특성을 내포하고 있는 변이율이라는 개념을 도입하여 미지의 측정 환경 변수중에서도 가능한 접지저항의 참값에 근접한 측정을 지향하는 방법을 제의한 것이다. 이 이론은 이미 기검증된 논문들의 결과 내용을 분석함으로써 귀납적인 결론을 유도한 것이다.
