  • Treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) has been defined as the persistence of positive symptoms despite two or more trials of antipsychotic medication of adequate dose and duration. TRS is a serious clinical problem and occurs in approximately 30% of patients with schizophrenia. It is important that patients who do not adequately respond to antipsychotics be reevaluated to exclude or address causes other than non-responsiveness to medication, that is, the possibility of pseudo-resistance. In particular, non-adherence to oral antipsychotic treatment should be monitored to rule out pseudo-resistant cases of TRS. Moreover, patients with TRS who take their medication as required may have subtherapeutic antipsychotic plasma levels, secondary to pharmacokinetic factors. In this paper, we review the concept and exclusion of pseudo-resistance, especially owing to non-adherence or pharmacokinetic factors, and present methods to enhance drug adherence.

  • This study analyzes the basic characteristics needed for motivating modal shift from truck to rail. The object of the study is to consider the resistance factor for container transported inland and the object point is the transfer node where modal shift occurs. The main contents of the study are as follows. First, the study looks at what shippers, engaged in inland transport of container, think of current transfer node environment. From this, the study analyzes what resistance factors are attributable to the lack of motivation in modal shift from truck to rail. Second, the study estimates mode choice models in which the resistance factors at transfer node are applied. Also by using this, the study draws out elasticities, and analyzes characteristics of resistantance factors in modal shift. Third, as its result, the study suggests methods to promote modal-shifting container transport from truck to rail.

  • This study investigates the differences between IT workers, who possess a high understanding of technology, and non-IT workers in the resistance to accepting an innovative service like mobile commerce. From a total of 317 survey respondents, the results of the study revealed that perceived risk, compatability, and complexity were the significant factors for resistance to mobile commerce for IT workers, while relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity were the factors of resistance for non-IT workers. Higher innovation resistance was shown to result in lower intention of use for both groups of mobile commerce users.

  • Korean Janggi and Western plow to have developed for a long time in the east and west were tested and compared in their draft resistance. The charaderistic of Korean Janggi and plow to be able to make deep plowing, on of the most important factors influeneed the increased yield, were ofserved. The study was undertaken to obtain these basic factors' to device and construct the deep plowing Janggi. The results were as follow; 1. The draft resistance of Korean Janggi far less than that of plow and on the dry field, the influence of soil moisture contant to the draft resistance was larger in the Korean Janggi than in the western plow, but on the rice paddy, there was not differences between them. 2. The plow was more stable than that of Janggi in their operation. 3. The relation ship between the specific draft resistance and plowing depth was shown bygthe carved equation. $$K=Ax+\frac{B}{x}+C$$(K ; specific draft restance, x; plowing depth) A, B, C; Constant controled by soil and instrument factor) 4. Minimam values of the specific draft resistance were as follow; a. On the dry field; Korean Janggi; x = $8{\sim}14cm$ $4K=280{\sim}330gr/cm^2$$ Westean plow; x=$10{\sim}12cm$ $$K=480{\sim}490gr/cm^2$$ 6. On the rice paddy; Korean Janggi; x=$8{\sim}12cm$ $$K=255{\sim}280gr/cm^2$ Western plow; x=$7{\sim}10cm$ $$K=415{\sim}420grc/m^2$$

  • Purpose Global fintech industry is proliferating. Although domestic investment in fintech service is also increasing fast, user acceptance of fintech payment service seems slower than expected. Previous fintech literature mainly focuses on overall characteristics and technical aspects of fintech including security issues and explores factors affecting the service adoption. This study aims to examine crucial factors affecting user's resistance intention to fintech payment service adoption. The research model was formulated based on innovation diffusion theory and status quo bias theory and validated empirically. Design/methodology/approach The proposed research model was empirically validated with 149 responses from college students who have used fintech payment service. The component-based SEM was employed for data analysis. Findings The significant findings are as follow. First, compatibility has significant negative effect and complexity, and perceived risk has a positive effect on user resistance. Second, institutional trust does not show a significant effect on user resistance but has an indirect effect through the mediation of trust in service provider. Finally, trust in service provider shows the significant negative effect on user resistance.

  • Purpose - Digital trade, which started in the early 2000s, is showing a sharp increase due to the recent pandemic. However, despite this proliferation, users' acceptance of innovation is very slow. Cloud services are at the center of digital trade activation. This study aims to contribute to the spread of digital trade through empirical analysis of the resistance factors that hinder the use of cloud service-based digital trade using the innovation resistance theory and the status quo bias theory. Design/Methodology/Approach - In order to achieve the research purpose, this study was conducted with 171 entrepreneurs using cloud service-based digital trade. Structural equation model(SEM) was used through empirical analysis. Findings - As a result of the study, it was found that the complexity of technology, perceived risk, compatibility, and trust in service providers had a significant effect on innovation resistance, and policy trust did not affect innovation resistance. Also, security concerns and institutional trust were analyzed to have a significant effect on the trust of service providers. Research Implications - This study is meaningful to help the rapid diffusion of innovative technologies through empirical analysis of factors that lower the intention to accept cloud service-based digital trade.

  • The plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium Ochrobactrum lupini KUDC1013 elicited induced systemic resistance (ISR) in tobacco against soft rot disease caused by Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum. We investigated of its factors involved in ISR elicitation. To characterize the ISR determinants, KUDC1013 cell suspension, heat-treated cells, supernatant from a culture medium, crude bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and flagella were tested for their ISR activities. Both LPS and flagella from KUDC1013 were effective in ISR elicitation. Crude cell free supernatant elicited ISR and factors with the highest ISR activity were retained in the n-butanol fraction. Analysis of the ISR-active fraction revealed the metabolites, phenylacetic acid (PAA), 1-hexadecene and linoleic acid (LA), as elicitors of ISR. Treatment of tobacco with these compounds significantly decreased the soft rot disease symptoms. This is the first report on the ISR determinants by plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) KUDC1013 and identifying PAA, 1-hexadecene and LA as ISR-related compounds. This study shows that KUDC1013 has a great potential as biological control agent because of its multiple factors involved in induction of systemic resistance against phytopathogens.

  • Recently, most of the international design code for concrete structures are trying to develope performance-based design specification with the limit state concept. To accomplish this object, it is necessary to define required performance and to measure the performance level of structure. The reliability index is one of the most attractive indexes to express the level of performance. In this paper, prestressed concrete beam is designed following member resistance factor and material resistance factor format and the reliability indexes are obtained and compared for different sets of resistance factors. Compatible sets of safety factors could be calibrated for given level of target reliability index applying the similar method presented in this paper.
