Nested-chopping 기법을 이용한 Instrumentation Amplifier 설계 (A Design of Instrumentation Amplifier using a Nested-Chopping Technique)

  • In this paper, we describe a chip design technique for instrumentation amplifier using a nested-chopping technique. Conventional chopping technique uses a pair of chopper, but nested chopping technique uses two pairs of chopper to reduce residual offset and 1/f noise. The inner chopper pair removes the 1/f noise, while the outer chopper pair reduces the residual offset. Our instrumentation amplifier using a nested chopping technique has residual offset under 100 nV. We also implement very low frequency filter. Since this filter needs very large RC time constant, we use a technique named 'diode connected PMOS' to increase R with small die area. The total power consumption is 3.1 mW at the supply voltage of 3.3V with the 0.35um general CMOS technology. The die area of implemented chip was $530um{\times}300um$.

C-축 배향된 ZnO 박막을 이용하여 제작한 압전형 마이크로 스피커의 특성 평가 (Characterization of Piezoelectric Microspeaker Fabricated with C-axis Oriented ZnO Thin Film)

  • A micromachined piezoelectric microspeaker was fabricated with a highly c-axis oriented ZnO thin film on a silicon-nitride film having compressive residual stress. When it was measured 3 mm away from the microspeaker in open field, the largest sound pressure level produced by the fabricated microspeaker was about 91 dB at around 2.9 kHz for the applied voltage of $6\;V_{peak-to-peak}$. The key technologies to these successful results were as follows: (1) the usage of a wrinkled diaphragm caused by the high compressive residual stress of silicon-nitride thin film, (2) the usage of the highly c-axis oriented ZnO thin film.

  • Recently as the inactive response characteristics of the existing RCD(Residual Current protective Device) used on low voltage power distribution system, so control of overload and electric short circuit faults, major causes of electrical fires, are not enough. Therefore, this paper is proposed a prevention apparatus using neutral line voltage and semiconductor switching devices for the prevention of electrical disasters in low voltage power distribution system caused by overload or electric short circuit faults. The proposed prevention apparatus confirms the excellent characteristics in response velocity and accuracy in comparison with the conventional circuit breaker(RCD) through various operation performance analysis.

Fluid-conveying piezoelectric nanosensor: Nonclassical effects on vibration-stability analysis

  • In current study, surface/interface effects for pull-in voltage and viscous fluid velocity effects on dimensionless natural frequency (DNF) of fluid-conveying piezoelectric nanosensor (FCPENS) subjected to direct electrostatic voltage DC with nonlinear excitation, harmonic force and also viscoelastic foundation (visco-pasternak medium and structural damping) are investigated using Gurtin-Murdoch surface/interface (GMSIT) theory. For this analysis, Hamilton's principles, the assumed mode method combined with Lagrange-Euler's are used for the governing equations and boundary conditions. The effects of surface/interface parameters of FCPENS such as Lame's constants (λI,S, μI,S), residual stress (τ0I,S), piezoelectric constants (e31psk,e32psk) and mass density (ρI,S) are considered for analysis of dimensionless natural frequency respect to viscous fluid velocity u̅f and pull-in voltage V̅DC.

아크사고 발생 시 전압 왜형파를 이용한 아크차단기 개발 (Development of Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter Using the Distorted Voltage Wave in Electric Arc Faults)

  • The major causes of electrical fire are classified to short circuit fault, overload fault, electric leakage and electric contact failure. The principal factor of the fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with such electric faults. Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELB) and Molded_case Circuit Breaker (MCCB), that is, Residual Current Protective Devices (RCDs) used on low voltage distribution lines cut off earth leakage and overload, but the RCD can not cut off electric arc or spark to be a major factor of electrical fire. As the RCDs which are applied in low voltage distribution panel are prescribed to rated breaking time about 30[ms] (KS C 4613), the RCDs can't perceive to the periodic electric arc or spark of more short wavelength level. To improve such problems, this paper studies on an arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) using the distorted voltage wave in electric arc faults. The proposed voltage sensing type AFCI is an electrical fire prevention apparatus of new conception that operates a circuit breaker with sensing the instantaneous voltage drop of line voltage at electrical faults occurrence. The proposed AFCI is composed of control circuit topology using some semiconductor switching devices. Some experimental tests of the proposed AFCI confirm practicality and the validity of the analytical results.

  • IEC 규격을 기반으로 최근에 개정된 KS 규격에 따라 등전위 접지시스템이 중요하게 자리매김 하였으며, 전원시스템의 안정성을 위해 서지보호소자의 사용이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 내재된 비선형 저항성분으로 뛰어난 V-I 특성을 가지는 $Z_nO$ 바리스터는 서지전압을 제한하여 서지전류로 환류시키기 위해 전원용 보호기로 주로 사용되고 있다. 이러한 $Z_nO$ 바리스터는 교류 전원선에 접속하기 위해서 몇 가지 회로조합 형태로 구성되어 사용되는데, 사용자는 바리스터를 직렬 혹은 병렬로 조합하여 사용함에 있어서 안전에 직접적으로 관련된 기능이나 열적 안정성을 포함한 많은 것들을 고려하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 40[kA]의 전류용량을 가지는 단일 바리스터 소자와 직렬 혹은 병렬 회로조합의 바리스터에 대하여 잔류전압, 방전전류, 누설전류, 표면온도를 측정하여 각각의 조합형태에 따라 안정성을 비교하였다.

피뢰기용 ZnO 바리스터 소자의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (A study on the Microstructure and electrical characteristics of ZnO varistors for arrester)

  • In this thesis, the microstructure and electrical properties of ZnO varistors were investigated according to ZnO varistors with various formulation. A∼E's ZnO varistor ceramics were exhibited good density, 95% of theory density and low porosity, 5%, wholly. The average grain size of A-E's ZnO varistor ceramics exhibited 11.89$\mu\textrm{m}$, 13.57$\mu\textrm{m}$, 15.44$\mu\textrm{m}$, 11.92$\mu\textrm{m}$, 12.47$\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively. Grain size of C's ZnO varistor is larger and grain size of A and D's are smaller than other varistors. In the microstructure, A∼E's ZnO varistor ceramics sintered at l130$^{\circ}C$ was consisted of ZnO grain(ZnO), spinel phase(Zn$\sub$2.33/Sb$\sub$0.67/O$_4$), Bi-rich Phase(Bi$_2$O$_3$) and inergranular phase, wholly. Reference voltage of A∼E's ZnO varistor sintered at 1130$^{\circ}C$ decreased in order D, E > A > B > C's ZnO varistors. Nonlinear exponent of varistors exhibited high characteristics, above 30, wholly. Consequently, C's ZnO varistor exhibited good nonlinear exponent, 68. Lightning impulse residual voltage of A, B, C and E's ZnO varistors suited standard characteristics, below 12kV at current of 5kA.

습도에 따른 다이아몬드성 카본필름의 잔류응력 변화에 대한 연구 (Humidity Dependence of the Residual Stress of Diamond-like Carbon Film)

  • 라디오파 플라즈마 화학증착법 (radio frequency plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition: r.f.-PACVD) 법으로 증착된 다이아몬드성 카본 (Diamond-like Carbon : DLC) 필름에서 나타나는 습도에 따른 압축 잔류 응력의 변화 거동을 체계적으로 조사하였다. 합성에 사용된 탄화수소 가스의 종류와 -100V에서 -800V 범위의 기판 바이어스 전압의 조절을 통해 폴리머성 필름에서 흑연성 필름까지 광범위한 구조의 DLC 필름을 합성하였다. 상대습도가 10%-90% 범위에서 변화하는 분위기 챔버 내에서 박막의 잔류응력의 변화를 실시간으로 측정하였다 박막의 경도와 잔류응력이 최고 값을 가지는 합성조건에서 얻어진 치밀한 DLC박막에서는 습도에 따른 잔류응력의 변화가 관찰되지 않았다. 그러나, 폴리머상이나 흑연상의 박막에서는 두 경우 모두 습도가 높아짐에 따라 압축 잔류응력이 증가함을 관찰할 수 있었으며, 습도의 변화에 대해 잔류응력이 즉각적으로 변화하였다. 한편, 동일한 습도에서 압축 잔류응력의 증가량은 필름의 두께에 반비례하는 것이 관찰되었다. 이 결과는 물분자가 필름의 구조내로 침투하면서 생기는 변화가 아니라, 박막의 표면에서 일어나는 물분자와의 반응에 의해 필름의 잔류응력이 변할 수 있음을 의미한다.

잔류자기와 I 결선에 의한 3상유도전동기 고정자 권선의 극성판별법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Polarity Discrimination Method of the Stator Windings for 3 Phase Induction Motors based on the Residual Magnetism and I Winding Connection)

  • When connecting 6 lead wires from stator windings to the terminals of 3 phase induction motors for Y or ${\triangle}$ connection, it is feared that the polarities of windings could be reversed each other if the wire tags are lost or erased, resulting in inadmissibly high current to motors in case of starting. To protect motors against such situations, some test procedures are necessary during wire connection which need to be easy ways to electricians without particular tools except a general multi-tester and with less time-consuming in the field. This study focuses on a test measure to satisfy these requirements which is able to provide them a convenient procedure for winding polarity discrimination considering the field condition. Here, the proposed measure utilizes the residual magnetism of the rotor and checks the indication of voltage or current at windings which are induced by the residual flux of rotor when rotating it by hands with 3 stator windings connected in the form of I connection. Principle characteristics and experiment results for this method are analyzed in the view of the effectiveness and applicability for the winding polarity discrimination.

단층 다결정 실리콘 마이크로머시닝 기술로 제작된 정전형 마이크로 미러 어레이의 모델링 및 측정 (Modeling and Measurement of Electrostatic Micro Mirror Array Fabricated with Single Layer Polysilicon Micromachining Technology)

  • Silicon based micro mirror array is a highly efficient component for use in optical applications such as adaptive optical systems and optical correlators. A micro mirror array designed, fabricated and tested here is consisted of $5{\times}5$ single layer polysilicon, electrostatically driven actuators. In this paper, deflection characteristics and pull-in behavior of the actuators for analog control was studied and particularly, the influence of the residual stress in flexure beams for the restorative force of actuators was considered. The springs are modeled as a residual stress-free spring and a spring with residual stress. In calculation, a mirror with the residual stress-free springs has 30.3N/m spring constant and 31.1V pull-in voltage. On the other hand, a mirror with the stressed springs has 23.6N/m and 27.4V respectively. The experimental result, which is 20.5N/m and 25.5V, shows that the stressed springs ore well modeled.
