Impacts of Resource Perception of Residence Area on the Evaluation of Preferred Destination Abroad - Focusing on Personal Value and Lifestyle

  • Personal value and lifestyle have been regarded as the common factors in many studies of the destination selection. And the evaluations by visitors or tourists of certain destinations have been conducted in many respects. Based on those influential factors and measures from the review of the previous researches, this article considers the impact of residents' evaluation of the tourism resources in their own resident area on selecting destinations of their future overseas trips as well as their personal value and lifestyle. This article is aimed to reveal whether the impact exists, and if so, to what extent this impact can expand. According to the result, perception of tourism resources in residential area has impact on preferred destination, although its impact was relatively less than those of personal value and lifestyle. The more highly perceived the tourism resources are found, the more preferred tourist destination with abundant tourism attractions are. And the lowly perceived the cost of living in residential area is found, the more preferred the consumption-oriented tourist destinations are. It would be helpful for the product developers like travel agents or product marketers to know and predict the tendency of people s present evaluation of their areas and the future destination selection tendency for their trips.

  • 도시는 우리의 삶과 직결된 일상공간이며 삶터다. 일상공간은 문화의 총체적 산물이자 재현의 대상이다. 도시의 노후주거지역은 고유의 역사와 함께 서민들의 일상의 삶이 담겨있기 때문에 경제적, 정치적 시각으로만 바라보아서는 안되는 장소다. 광주광역시 북구 중흥동의 와우산 일대는 도시노후주거지역의 특성과 경관을 잘 유지하고 있는 곳으로서, 본 논문은 이 지역의 사례 연구를 통해 일상문화와 장소성 간의 밀접한 관계, 장소성 형성요소와 과정 그리고 장소가 가지고 있는 진정성 등 도시노후주거지역이 갖고 있는 의미와 가치를 도출해내고자 한다. 와우산 일대는 조선시대 경양역(景陽驛)을 기반으로 400여년의 역사적 가치와 구릉지 지형의 주거지역 환경, 근현대 서민들의 주거지역으로서 골목과 텃밭이 만들어내는 독특한 경관보유, 골목을 기반으로 한 서민들의 일상성이 살아있는 공간이라 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 도출해낸 장소의 진정성은 도시노후주거지역은 소통하고 배려하는 인간적 삶과 비정형성의 문화적 다양성이 살아있는 장소, 환경과 인간이 공존과 조화를 이루는 장소, 거주민의 공동체적 일상성이 살아있는 장소라는 점이다.

도시 토사중 중금속 함량 (Heavy Metals in Soils of the Urban Area)

  • In order to evaluate the degree of air pollution, soils from 125 and 60points of main streets of Seoul and Daejeon, respectively, were sampled and analyzed for the contents of lead, copper, iron and zinc by nitric acid($HNO_3$) extraction followed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry during June and September, 1990. The Pb contents of Seoul and Daejeon were 350.2$\mu$g/g and 175.9$\mu$g/g, respectively, which were 14.5times and 7.3times respectively higher than the control(24.0). In Seoul, the commercial area gave the highest value followed by resdential and industrial areas in the decreasing order, while the order in Daejeon was Industrial, commercial and residential areas. The Cu contents in Seoul and Daejeon were very similar(236.6 and 234.6, respectively) each other, and about 11times higher than the control(20.9). The concentration was highest in industrial, followed by commercial and the lowest in residential areas in Seoul, while the order in Daejeon was industrial, residential and commercial areas. The Fe contents were 25716.5 in Seoul and 22838.6 in Daejeon, both being similar to the control value(22537.0). The value was highest in industrial and next in commercial areas and the lowest in residential area both in Seoul and Daejeon. The Zn contents in Seoul and Daejeon were 728.2 and 404.0, respectively, wihch were 6.3 and 3.6times higher than the control(113.3). The value was highest in commercial and next in industrial areas and the lowest in residental area in Seoul, while the order was industrial, residential and commercial areas in Daejeon. The heavy metal content was higher in the soil of main streets than that of minor streets in Seoul. The content of lead in Seoul was higher in the streets of Chongro-ku(525.9) and Chung-ku(684.8), the central area of the city which had a heavy traffic, than those in Nowon-ku(320.3) and Kwanak-ku(312.6) which had relatively less traffic crowd. The similar pattern was observed in the content of zinc; it was higher in Chongro-ku(1305.0) and Chung-ku(1335.4) than in Nowon-ku(489.1) and Kwanak-ku(569.8). In Daejeon, the contents of lead and zinc were decreasing as the distance from Daejeon Railroad Station increased : they were respectively 157.8 and 447.7 within 2km from the station, 157.6 and 235.7 with in 2-4km, and 63.5 and 156.2 within 4-6km and 58.7 and 142.2 within 6-8km. In summary, the contents of lead, copper and zinc were generally higher in the central area of the city, areas of heavy traffic and areas of industry and commerce.

수도권 아파트 거주자의 그린홈에 대한 인식 및 그린주거생활 실천 실태 (Green Life of Apartments Residents in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of residents on green home and their green residential life. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted and the items consisted of whether green home was perceived and how well green residential life was maintained in 6 types of environments. A total 118 responses of residents living in apartments of Seoul Metropolitan Area were used for data analysis. Using statistical program SPSS Win 18.0, frequency analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and factor analysis was employed. The major findings were as follows: 1) slightly more than half of the respondents were aware of green home, and the vast majority were in favor of the green home policy; 2) most of the respondents carried out guidelines of green residential life, and in particular, green living on air environment was well done, followed by consumption, waste, energy, traffic and water; 3) the six kinds of environments were subcategorized by using factor analysis, and 3 to 5 factors were included in each category of environment. Also, it was found that age, educational level, employment status of respondents, housing tenure and duration were related to the degree of green residential life. In midst of global movement toward sustainability, environmentally friendly living is not optional but mandatory, so it's important to change each individual's value on the relation between people and environment and to facilitate more environmentally conscious behaviors.

주택용 수용가의 정전비용 평가 연구 (Assessment of Interruption Costs for Residential Customers)

  • 전력서비스 중단이 전력소비자에 끼치는 충격은 소비자와 정전 특성에 달려있다 소비자 특성은 인구통계학적인 측면(주거형태와 가족구성원 수)과 전력공급 형태를 포함하는 반면에 정전특성은 발생 빈도, 기간, 시간과 요일을 포함한다. 따라서 이러한 소비자 정전비용의 평가는 상당히 복잡하고 주관적이다. 주거용 소비자들의 경우, 주거용 소비자에 대한 정전의 충격이 가시적이지 않기 때문에 소비자 조사 방법이 가장 적합할 것으로 보인다. 달리 말하면, 가사일과 정전으로 인해 여가의 가치가 각자 다르기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 주택 수용가에 대한 정전 비용을 평가하기 위한 방법으로서 수용가 설문조사 방법을 선택하였다.

  • Recent social aspects such as change in population structure, preference to eco-friendly lifestyle, potential for high-tech agriculture are increasing the public attention to returning to farming and rural areas. Especially, retired people who have a longer life expectancy than in the past seek to find a beginning of their later years in farming and rural life. This phenomenon is expected to form new value on rural areas and create new culture for the aged. In order to suggest a futuristic residential development plan for the retiree, this thesis first analyzes 'MARPA(Maison d'Accueil Rurale pour Personnes Ag$\acute{e}$es)' through reference research, site visit and interview with professionals and based on this suggest solutions applicable to Korean conditions. This thesis concludes that residential development plan apt to local characteristics, marketing strategies and administrative system through network and specialized maintenance system are required. In addition, it is contended that interaction and cooperation with local community, various support on creating regional income and residential development plan being in harmony with existing community are needed.

제주도 지역 거주자의 주거 행태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Residential Behavior of Cheju Province)

  • Cheju province exposes a separated residential culture compared to the mainland area. since it has its own unique climate, natural features. Therefore, this study tried to grasp the residential behavior. was based on the questionnaire to Cheju province people, using the approach by statistic verification. This study also focused and aimed on suggesting the basic data about housing plan which is appropriate to the climate. natural features requirement from inhabitants through the comparison and analysis between the mainland area and Cheju province. The results of the study are as follows; Firstly. the diversified applicative study on ‘Ol-rae’. ‘Ma-dang’, ‘Yoo-young’ and so forth that is traditional outside garden of Cheju is imperative, because in urban area people think traffics, vicinity, etc. are more significant, and in rural area people think occupying large outside space is more significant. Secondly. in the study of the degree of satisfaction on the housing, most of the people's was ‘neutral’ and in rural area quite a lot of negative reaction exposed. This is owing to the uniform introduction on residential style of the mainland area. Thirdly, housing plan should be considered family members' housing needs and provincial characteristics, meanwhile most of the people answered positively about the residential value which is considered very significant lately, for instance, security of privacy. appropriate plan for child's room.

수원시 비점오염물질의 유출 특성 (Runoff Characteristics of Non-point Pollutants Source in Suwon City)

  • This study was to investigate the runoff characteristics of non-point pollutants source at the urban area in Suwon city. The highest T-N and T-P concentration of rainfall runoff observed in agricultural area. In residential area, the highest $BOD_5$ and SS concentration of rainfall runoff was investigated. During rainfall events, the peak concentrations of SS and $BOD_5$ were observed after 1~2 hours of rainfall in urban area. Whereas, the peak concentrations occurred within 1~2 hours after rainfall and then the highest concentrations of SS and $BOD_5$ sharply decreased, showing strong first flush effect in urban area. The EMC results indicated that the highest value of T-N and T-P in agricultural area was observed. While residential area was shown the lowest EMC value as T-N and T-P. Non-point pollutant loads on the land use types in urban area were investigated in the order of residential>industrial>agricultural>highway. $BOD_5$ and SS loads on urban watershed were investigated in the order of Suwon>Hwangguji>Seoho>Wonchunri. Whereas, T-N and T-P loads on urban watershed were investigated in the order of Hwangguji>Suwon>Wonchunri>Seho.

중년층의 주거의식에 내재된 전통성 요인이 노후 주거환경 요구에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Traditional Minds on Housing of the Middle-aged on Residential Demands for the Elderl Life)

  • The purpose of this study was to develope a housing suitable for the Korean elderly by analyzing traditional minds on housing of the middle-aged. Data were collected by the questionnaire from 696 middle-aged in 40's and 50's living in Chinju area. Collected data were analyzed by using statistical methods of One-Way MANOVA, scheffe's test, and multiple regression analysis which were processed with SAS. Following are results. 1) Middle aged people had four main traditional factors in their minds: a propensity toward traditional indoor atmosphere, traditional housing space, traditional housing value and ceremony space & traditional life style. 2) Socio-demographically, a propensity toward traditional housing space and ceremony space & traditional life style were significantly different between sexes, but not by educational level and income. A propensity toward traditional indoor atmosphere and ceremony space & traditional life style were different between housing types. 3) However, there were a significant difference between variables such as sex, educational level, income and housing type in residential demands for the elderly life. 4) Sex, housing type, a propensity toward traditional housing space and traditional housing value influenced residential demands for the elderly life I indoor and outdoor environments, nearby facilities and available services all of which were minor items in the demand for the elderly life.

Levels of Polychlorinated Dibenzo-p-dioxins and Dibenzofurans in Soil and Pine needle near Industry Complex in Changwon City

  • Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) were investigated in soil and pine needle samples taken from 16 sites of industrial and residential areas in Changwon, Korea to assess their distribution levels and to suggest the influence of industrial activities, PCDDs/DFs levels in the soil samples ranged from 0.57 to 20.79 pg I-TEQ/g dry weight with a mean value of 4.20 pg I-TEQ/g dry weight. PCDDs/DFs levels in the pine needle samples ranged from 0.39 to 8.75 pg I-TEQ/g dry weight with a mean value of 4.09 pg I-TEQ/g dry weight. In both soil and pine needle samples, the PCDDs/DFs concentrations in the industrial area sites were higher than those in the residential area sites. Homologue profiles in pine needle samples showed different patterns compared with soil samples. Based on the results of principal component analysis (PCA), it was confirmed that pine needles reflected a direct influence from local potential sources of PCDDs/DFs, showing a much higher degree of reflection than in soils. Pine needles are very useful as an indicator for monitoring or estimating the contamination of PCDDs/DFs in other areas which have been impacted by point pollution sources.
