Currently, China's urban landscape is undergoing a gradual shift from incremental development to stock renovation. Furthermore, the planning and development objectives of urban communities have evolved from solely focusing on physical space construction to promoting sustainable development within a humanistic society. The current approach to community planning and construction, which emphasizes a singular dimension of residential life, overlooks the multifaceted aspects of community life and production. This oversight leads to a lack of attention to interpersonal relationships within the community, difficulties in establishing a connection between people and their environment, and numerous other issues. Consequently, this paper seeks to redefine the concept of sociality within community spaces by considering the continuum of time and space within communities. It aims to delineate the roles of "power" and "rights" within the community context, with a particular focus on everyday life, in order to reevaluate strategies and methods for fostering dynamic community development.

Methods: Data from 2010 Community Health Survey (CHS) in 13 communities of Honam region, Korea, were analyzed. Multiple logistic analysis method was used to determine the influence of selected factors on the intention to quit smoking among male smokers. Results: Residential area, smoking amounts per day, exposure to secondhand smoking, past attempts to quit, walking activity, brushing teeth after lunch, and stress were found to be independently associated with intention to quit smoking. Socio-demographic factors including age, marital status, educational level, and monthly income were not associated. To ensure the revitalization of rural communities with viable levels of population, various agricultural policies are needed. Attaining this goal demands a comprehensive plan to improve rural housing conditions in general, along with more proactive policies dealing with existing rural housing problems by providing public housing options. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a set of base data which can provide direction when proposing prospective housing policies which comply the peculiar and changing needs of rural communities. To establish the base data, the study reviewed all the relevant issues, requirements and resources in the course of developing rural housing regulations and policies. Some municipal organizations have implemented independent housing programs for returning farmers. They provide one-stop service corners to provide returning farmers comprehensive counseling and information about employment, child-rearing and education, housing, and etc. in their municipals. Agricultural housing projects nowadays focus on promoting voluntary establishments of local communities by providing comprehensive plans for public housing, idyllic housing and other interchange facilities. Recent trends on housing project take into consideration both residential areas and their surrounding landscapes at minimum investment possible. The efficient investment of regional housing development lies in the simultaneous consideration on both the construction and operation and management of housing development from beginning to end.
The purpose of this study was to identify some residential characteristics of Post-retirement and characteristics of the Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) favored by those baby-boomer generations soon retiring. A web-based online survey was conducted with middle-class baby-boomers living in the Seoul-Incheon-Gyengki capital area and the five metropolitan cities of Korea between 9th and 20th of February in 2017. A total 0f 507 responses were valid for statistical analysis. The findings obtained that they preferred living Urban outskirts after retirement; Desired area of post-retirement was differentiated depending on asset and educational attainment; 63.4% of respondents had no intentions to live with adult child; a combination of independent living and assisted living was the most preferred form of the CCRCs; Over 80% of respondents had intention to live in independent living, assisted living and nursing home; and Intention to live in assisted living and nursing home was differentiated depending on Intention to live with adult child. Among the four Community-linked types, the Hospital-based one was most popular. The University-based and Religion-based ones were then preferred by females than males. The results obtained here can be used for reflecting the residents needs when planning the CCRCs in Korea.

Currently, China's urban space is gradually changing from gradual development to inventory transformation. The planning and development goals of urban communities have also shifted from material space construction to the direction of sustainable development of humanities and society. Currently, community planning and construction at a single latitude, which focuses on residential life, overlooks the multidimensional elements of community life production, causing many problems such as cold relationships between communities and difficulties in forming relationships between humans and the environment. Therefore, this article re-recognizes the sociality of the community in the continuous unification of the community in time and space, clarifies the central and private aspects of the community, and re-explores the dynamic creation and methods of the community as the starting point of daily life.
Most research on high-rise housing has focused on low-income residences, and usually the psychological and social well-being of women and children. The validity of such findings are questionable for other populations since high-rise living has served other groups and their various needs in particular settings. Lack of knowledge and understanding about high-rises has represented an obstacle to the accurate representation of American urban reality in residential environments. The review of literature and factor analysis identified Important environmental factors. The survey was conducted in the selected downtown high-rise communities of major U.S. cities. Analyses revealed that there were unique characteristics of residents who prefer to live in this type of housing. It was also found that living in middle-income urban high-rise condominiums does not contribute significantly to the problems associated with high-rise living itself. Even though there were some deficiencies of social interaction and activities among residents, the middle-income condominiums were serving particular residents as maintenance-free and safe place imprinted by a positive image of sweet memories or sometimes by a window view presiding over downtown skyline.
In this paper we discuss the terms "exo-spatial design," "solar carving," and "bridging" as strategies for creating more socially connective tall buildings. As a typology, high-rise residential buildings have a unique set of challenges to becoming fully activated urban participants in the cities in which they are located. While there is a general recognition and appreciation that tall buildings provide identity to a city, there is often criticism of how they relate to their surroundings. Critics have posited that tall buildings are insular and foreboding by their very nature. This paper explores several design avenues for architects to consider in order to improve the social aspect of tall buildings. As all cities become taller and denser to accommodate growth, the need to design social space in, on, and around tall buildings must be continually examined if we are to have cohesive urban fabric that supports communities.
This study derives the characteristics of physical environmental designs and formats which can serve as guidelines in spatial design for the social regeneration of residential areas. For this purpose, this study redefined factors of social regeneration in living areas and their design strategies through a theoretical review. This study also selected practical examples and investigated the characteristics of environmental design in terms of shapes, finishing, and devices used stated in the strategies for social regeneration in the given examples through field investigation. As a result, designs for communities should Maximize characteristics of daily use and formated types reused as well as use complicated and small facilities. Second, access types should make it easy to induce artificial movement, themes using finishing materials should be given, and perception media should be used to encourage physical activity. Third, psychological stability can be achieved by improving the colors used in the finishing materials, and should ensuring safe environmental facilities by design. Finally, for metaphoric contact to the properties of nature, using themes of nature in the finishing materials and in diverse devices.
