댐저수지 하상의 퇴적물 관리를 위한 GIS 시스템 개발 (Development of GIS System for the Monitering of the Riverbed Sediment on Dam Reservoir)

  • 국내 대부분의 댐저수지는 완공후 운영기간이 길어지면서 퇴적물에 대한 관심이 날로 증가하고 있으며 인공 조성된 저수지이므로 일반적으로 유역 면적이 넓다는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이로인해 자연호에 비해 수체의 흐름이 느려지고 유입물이 상당량 퇴적되는 것으로 알려지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 퇴적물의 분포 및 특성을 조사하는 방법 중 음파의 파동을 이용한 퇴적물 탐사기법을 통하여 하상의 정밀 지형조사를 실시하였다. 정확한 퇴적물 산정을 위해 GPS 측량, 저주파 천부지층탐사기 및 고주파 음향측심기의 조합을 통해 데이터를 획득하였으며 이를 바탕으로 하상에 대한 3차원 공간 데이터인 DEM과 DSM을 생성하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 구축된 하상 지형 데이터를 기반으로 하는 퇴적물 관리 GIS 시스템을 개발하였으며 이를 댐저수지에 축적되어 저수지의 용적 및 수질에 악영향을 미치는 퇴적물의 관리시스템으로 활용하고자 하였다.

이상홍수를 고려한 퍼지 최적 저수지 운영 (Fuzzy Optimal Reservoir Operation Considering Abnormal Flood)

  • 본 연구에서는 이상홍수 발생 시 저수지의 안전성을 확보함과 동시에 두 개의 저수지를 효율적으로 연계운영하여 하류의 홍수피해를 줄이기 위한 모형을 개발하였다. 이상홍수 발생 시 저수지 최적연계운영을 위해 선형계획법을 사용하였고, 저수지 운영에서 유입량, 저수지 수위, 유입량의 증감 등의 요소에 포함된 불확실성을 해결하기 위해 퍼지제어기법을 도입하였다. 선형계획법을 이용하여 이상홍수 유입에 따른 저수지 최적연계운영규칙을 찾아내고, 퍼지제어기법을 사용하여 신속하고 정교한 운영이 요구되는 이상홍수 유입상황에 사용할 수 있는 모형을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강 상류에 위치한 안동댐과 임하댐을 대상으로 각 댐의 저수지에 100년 빈도의 홍수와 PMF가 유입될 때 안동시의 계획홍수량을 초과하지 않도록 저수지최적연계운영을 실시하였고, 최적연계운영규칙과 퍼지제어기법을 사용하여 댐 하류지점의 유량과 각 댐별 저류량, 유입량, 유입량의 증감에 따라 방류량을 결정하는 모형을 개발하였다. 개발된 모형은 안동댐과 임하댐의 각 저수지 및 안동시의 유황에 따라 결정되는 224개의 퍼지규칙으로 정리되었으며, GUI를 통해 현재 유황을 입력하면 각 댐의 방류량을 간단히 결정할 수 있다.

  • Recently irrigation reservoir has been developed to perform multipurpose function. To get a maximum effect it requires to establish optimal management system for irrigation reservoir in drought and flood season. Especially we dealt with optimal flood control system for irrigation reservoir in this study. This system consists of real-time rainfall data via online system, real-time flood forecasted by SCS method in hourly basis, storage volume by water balance equation, optimal releasing discharge from the gate, the water level in right downstream, and calculation of innundated area, depth, and time using GIS, and amount of flood damages. If we consider the relation of these sub module reasonably, we can reach the optimal flood control to minimize flood damage

축적 컴퓨팅을 위한 멤리스터 소자의 최적화 (Optimization of Memristor Devices for Reservoir Computing)

  • Recently, artificial neural networks have been playing a crucial role and advancing across various fields. Artificial neural networks are typically categorized into feedforward neural networks and recurrent neural networks. However, feedforward neural networks are primarily used for processing static spatial patterns such as image recognition and object detection. They are not suitable for handling temporal signals. Recurrent neural networks, on the other hand, face the challenges of complex training procedures and requiring significant computational power. In this paper, we propose memristors suitable for an advanced form of recurrent neural networks called reservoir computing systems, utilizing a mask processor. Using the characteristic equations of Ti/TiOx/TaOy/Pt, Pt/TiOx/Pt, and Ag/ZnO-NW/Pt memristors, we generated current-voltage curves to verify their memristive behavior through the confirmation of hysteresis. Subsequently, we trained and inferred reservoir computing systems using these memristors with the NIST TI-46 database. Among these systems, the accuracy of the reservoir computing system based on Ti/TiOx/TaOy/Pt memristors reached 99%, confirming the Ti/TiOx/TaOy/Pt memristor structure's suitability for inferring speech recognition tasks.

3D Numerical Investigation on Reservoir System for an Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor

  • Overtopping Wave Energy Convertor (OWEC) is an offshore wave energy convertor, which comprises the circular ramp and reservoir. It collects the overtopped waves and converting water pressure head into electric power through the hydro-turbines installed in the vertical duct, which is fixed in the sea bed. The performance of OWEC can be represented by the operating water heads of the device, which depends on the amount of the wave water overtopping into the reservoir. In the present paper, the reservoir with the duct connecting to the sea water are studied in the 3D numerical wave tank, which has been developed based on the computational fluid dynamics software Fluent 6.3. Both the overtopping motion and the discharges of the reservoir are investigated together, and several shape parameters and incident wave conditions are varied to demonstrate their effects on the performance of OWEC.

  • Selection of the best operating rule among a set of alternatives for a multipurpose reservoir system operation requires to evaluate many minor criteria in addition to the major objectives assessed to the system. These problems are sufficiently complex and difficult that they are beyond heuristic decision rules and experiences in case several noncommensurable multiple criteria are included in the evaluation. With the assistance of multicriterion decision analysis techniques, it is possible to select the best one among various alternatives by systematically comparing and ranking the alternatives with respect to the criteria of choice. Evaluation criteria for multipurpose reservoir system operating rules were identified and defined, and the multicriterion decision analysis techniques were applied to evaluate the four existing operating rules of the Chungju multipurpose project according to the identified nine multiple criteria. The application results show that the methodology is very efficient to select the best operation alternative among a finite number of operating rules with many evaluation criteria for a large-scale reservoir system operation.

  • A Web-based information system from the Korea Agricultural Water Use Laboratory AWUL, has been developed to provide with regional water management information and guidance for the operations of irrigation reservoirs through the World Wide Web(WWW). Twenty-six reservoirs are selected as the reference reservoirs for regional water management , and the real-time operation guide may be issued the grwoing seasons. The information available from the system includes the wether forecasting , drought analyses, and reservoir operation data for those reference sites. For a specific reservoir, the manager may access the system to obtain the water requriement, irrigation secheduling , and reservoir operations that fit best to the irrigation district.

열펌프 가열식 온수기의 동적특성 해석 (Numerical Simulation on Dynamic Characteristics of a Water Heater System Driven by a Heat Pump)

  • A dynamic model of a water heater system heated by a heat pump was developed. The water heater system was composed of heat pump and hot water reservoirs. Finite volume method (FVM) was applied to describe the heat exchangers. A new constraint on electronic expansion valve (EEV) or thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) that can control superheat after the evaporator was developed. Dynamic performances were evaluated for various sizes of the reservoir. In order to compare those performances, time scale was normalized by time constant representing the characteristics of reservoir size. Time constant was determined from quasi steady-state simulation of the system. From the simulation, the size of the water heater reservoir was found to have a large influence on the transient performance of the sys- tem. Therefore, the optimization of the reservoir size is needed in a design process.

수질을 고려한 수자원 공급의 정량적 분석을 위한 WRAP-SALT 개발 (Development of WRAP-SALT for Quantitative Analysis of Water Supply Capabilities considering Water Quality)

  • The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality(TCEQ) WAM(Water Availability Modeling) System consists of the generalized Water Rights Analysis Package(WRAP) river/reservoir system water management simulation model, 22 sets of WRAP hydrology and water rights input files for the 23 river basins of Texas, geographic information system tools, and other supporting databases. The WRAP/WAM modeling system, as routinely applied since the late 1990s, has not included consideration of water quality. Recently developed WRAP-SALT(Water Rights Analysis Package) is designed primarily for computing concentration frequency statistics and supply reliability indices at locations of interest in a river system for alternative water development and management scenarios. Though motivated primarily by natural salt pollution, WRAP-SALT water quality modeling features are applicable to essentially any conservative water quality constituent. The Brazos River studies discussed in this paper focus on total dissolved solids, though the available observed data also includes chloride and sulfate which can be modeled as individual constituents. The WRAP-SALT salinity input file contains loads or concentrations of salinity inflows during each month of the hydrologic period-of-analysis and reservoir storage at the beginning of the simulation. The WRAP-SALT model computes salt loads and concentrations for each control point of a river/reservoir system for inflows and outflows during the month and end-of-month reservoir storage for each month of the hydrologic period-of-analysis, for given loads entering the system. River reaches connect control points. The mass balance algorithms proceed from upstream to downstream, with outflow from one river reach contributing to inflow to the next downstream reach. In a given month, for each control point in sequence, the inflow loads are first computed. Loads and concentrations of outflows and reservoir storage at the control point are then determined. Complete mixing during the month is assumed at locations without reservoir storage.

농업용 저수지 저수율을 이용한 충남지역 2015년 가뭄 분석 (Spatial and Temporal Analysis of Drought Using the Storage Data of Agricultural Reservoirs in Chungnam Province in 2015)

  • The objective of this study was to analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics of agricultural drought by tracking the daily reservoir storage in Chungnam province. All daily records of the percent of reservoir storage from 2000 to 2015 were collected for 130 irrigation reservoirs from the RIMS (Rural Infrastructure Management System). The temporal change of province-wide average reservoir storage and the statistics showed that the annual average and minimum percent of reservoir storage in 2015 were extremely low like as those in the historical drought years of 2001 and 2012. The minimum reservoir storage on record was a 41 % at the end of September and remained far less than its historical average even until the end of the year. Furthermore, the annual average reservoir storage (68.3 %) recorded the lowest on record since 2000. In addition, about half of 130 major irrigation reservoirs in Chungnam fell into the risk of water shortage below 30 % full, and, in terms of annual minimum reservoir storage, the 79 reservoirs yielded lower storage in 2015 comparing with the measured in another drought year, 2001. On the other hand, irrigation reservoirs of comparatively worse storage condition revealed to be mostly located on the inside, such as Cheongyang-gun and Hongsung-gun. Conclusively, the low reservoir storage, still far below average even on December 2015, induced a serious concern about that more extreme drought would happen in the next spring.
