Around 80% of the 63 million people in the UK live in urban areas where demand for affordable housing is highest. Supply of new dwellings is a long way short of demand and with an average annual replacement rate of 0.5% more than 80% of the existing residential housing stock will still be in use by 2050. A high proportion of owner-occupiers, a weak private rental sector and lack of sustainable financing models render England's housing market one of the least responsive in the developed world. As an exploratory research the purpose of this paper is to examine the provision of social housing in the United Kingdom with a particular focus on England, and to set out implications for housing associations delivering sustainable community development. The paper is based on an analysis of historical data series (Census data), current macro-economic data and population projections to 2033. The paper identifies a chronic undersupply of affordable housing in England which is likely to be exacerbated by demographic development, changes in household composition and reduced availability of finance to develop new homes. Based on the housing market trends analysed in this paper opportunities are identified for policy makers to remove barriers to the delivery of new affordable homes and for social housing providers to evolve their business models by taking a wider role in sustainable community development.
Singapore, a city state with less than 6 million population, has continued successful cooperative development and become one of the most successful Asian countries in exporting expertise in urban and real estate development. This research aims to analyze Singapore's cooperative development with socialist countries including China and Vietnam from Singapore's perspective as an investor. For cooperative development projects in China, Singapore adopted Singapore-style physical urban planning concepts as well as its own institutional and administrative systems. Singapore-Vietnam cooperative development managed to acquire profitable land and diversify its portfolio in terms of industry types and rents. This made Singapore's industrial parks more competitive than other parks in Vietnam. By showcasing successful project implementation in China and Vietnam, Singapore has proved that its model for industrial park and urban development is transferable. Singapore's success in cooperative development with socialist countries provides important implications for future cooperative development between South and North Korea. For example, phased development approaches starting from individual industrial parks expanding to mixed-use townships will be very useful to realize sustainable urban planning in North Korea and reduce financial risks. Singapore dominated development opportunities in advance when socialist countries opened their economy. To pattern ourselves after Singapore, we should not only improve our relationship with North Korea but also prepare with practical components such as financing and organizational structure.
KOREATECH has operated a Co-op program called 'Industry Professional Practice (IPP)' that allows students to work full-time in relevant industries for at least four months since 2012, and also developed a systematic performance evaluation model on the basis of Kirkpatrick's four-stage assessment model. This study aims to share KOREATECH's Levels 3 and 4 evaluation results which are clearly what practitioners and academic investigators of cooperative education want to know the most. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted for KOREATECH graduates and their superiors to examine influence of IPP experiences on employment and job performance. A total of 730 alumni who graduated within last 5 years participated in the survey, with 213 (29.2%) having IPP experiences, and 162 superiors rated their subordinates on seven performance criteria. The analysis results were mixed. On the one hand, employment rate of IPP participants was 89.7%, compared to 86.8% of alumni without field experiences. Participants of the IPP program were more satisfied with their salary and felt less unfair about their career and promotion opportunities than alumni without field experiences. On the other, superiors rated their subordinates without IPP experiences slightly more positively than IPP participants in terms of job performance. These contrasting results are judged to show strengths and weaknesses of the IPP program at the same time. The limitations of the study and future research directions are discussed at the last part.

Digital Science's Dimensions is envisaged as a next-generation research and discovery platform for more efficient access to cross-referenced scholarly publications, grants, patents, and clinical trials. As a new addition to the growing open citation resources, it offers opportunities that may benefit a wide variety of stakeholders of scientific publications, from researchers and policy makers to the general public. In this article, we explore and demonstrate some of the practical potentials in terms of cascading citation expansions. Given a set of publications, the cascading citation expansion process can be iteratively applied to a set of articles so as to extend the coverage to more and more relevant articles through citation links. Although the conceptual origin can be traced back to Garfield's citation indexing, it has been largely limited, until recently, to the few who have unrestricted access to a citation database that is large enough to sustain such iterative expansions. Building on the open application program interface of Dimensions, we integrate cascading citation expansion functions in CiteSpace and demonstrate how one may benefit from these new capabilities. In conclusion, cascading citation expansion has the potential to improve our understanding of the structure and dynamics of scientific knowledge.
Purpose : This study aimed to examine the relationship between intragroup peer evaluation and self-directed learning readiness(SDLR) in an Introduction to Education class that used a team based learning(TBL). Moreover, it identified the specific components of the SDLR that predicted the peer evaluation results. Method : The research subject pool comprised of 87 $1^{st}$ students in D Health College. Each team was composed of 6~8 members, each of whom evaluated all other members on his or her team SDLR was measured by using SDLR-K-96. Results : SDLR and peer assessment scores had a positive relationship, confirming that SDLR was an important variable that could predict the peer evaluation scores. Among the SDLR factors, 'openness to challenge' and 'self-confidence as a learner' was shown to have the predictive power for the peer assessment. Conclusion : The colleges should provide dental hygiene students with learning opportunities on ability to do self-directed learning through diverse learning methods such as team based learning.

The total of 35 target VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which were included in the TO-14, was selected to develop a VOCs' source profile matrix of the Yeosu Petrochemical Complex and to test its collinearity by singular value decomposition(SVD) technique. The VOCs collected in canisters were sampled from 12 different sources such as 8 direct emission sources (refinery, painting, wastewater treatment plant, incinerator, petrochemical processing, oil storage, fertilizer plant, and iron mill) and 4 general area sources (gasoline vapor emission, graphic art activity, vehicle emission, and asphalt paving activity) in this study area, and then those samples were analyzed by GC/MS. Initially the resulting raw data for each profile were scaled and normalized through several data treatment steps, and then specific VOCs showing major weight fractions were intensively reviewed and compared by introducing many other related studies. Next, all of the source profiles were tested in terms of degree of collinearity by SVD technique. The study finally could provide a proper VOCs' source profile in the study area, which can give opportunities to apply various receptor models properly including chemical mass balance (CMB).

In recent years, emotion recognition has been an interesting and challenging topic. Compared to facial expressions and speech modality, gesture-based emotion recognition has not received much attention with only a few efforts using traditional hand-crafted methods. These approaches require major computational costs and do not offer many opportunities for improvement as most of the science community is conducting their research based on the deep learning technique. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end deep learning approach for classifying emotions based on bodily gestures. In particular, the informative keyframes are first extracted from raw videos as input for the 3D-CNN deep network. The 3D-CNN exploits the short-term spatiotemporal information of gesture features from selected keyframes, and the convolutional LSTM networks learn the long-term feature from the features results of 3D-CNN. The experimental results on the FABO dataset exceed most of the traditional methods results and achieve state-of-the-art results for the deep learning-based technique for gesture-based emotion recognition.
As international mobility of the high-caliber manpower increases, recruitment of the brain from overseas becomes a critical factor in determining national innovation capacity. This paper reviewed the theories of reverse brain drain, summarized the factors for recruitment of the brain from abroad, and empirically analyzed priority of the factors through the survey on overseas scientists from Vietnam, using conjoint analysis. The results of the analysis shows that high-level salaries, proper research environments, and environment for child education were the important factors. Factors such as scientists respect culture and career development opportunities are not considered important. This paper shows that the exceptionally higher salary should be paid and it also indicates that the policy determination from Vietnam government should be made accordingly.
Global regulatory pressures relating climate change and environmental responsibility are asking companies to find out the best way for sustaining their continuous business growths. It could be known that inadequate management for environmental issues are bad for business, negatively affecting brand image, causing unnecessary losses and costs for environmental preservation. For this reason, environmentally conscious green business growth has been recognized as an essential requirement for a company to stay in business. Many companies are looking for green business opportunities of improving their environmental and financial results, and struggling with how green fits into their business. In this paper, the Green Six Sigma, an environmentally conscious Six Sigma methodology, is presented as a way to find solutions for green growths. The Six Sigma is known as a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for achieving world-class performance in any process from manufacturing to transactional. In chronological order, the Six Sigma has been evolved from Motorola's quality-oriented methodology to GE's cost-oriented lean approach, and is being evolved and developed as an environment-oriented green growth approach. There is no doubt that the Green Six Sigma, as an engine of green growth, is a power tool for achieving competitive business performance and reducing the impact on the environment.
Digital divide commonly means the gap among diverse stakeholders, businesses, physical areas, and individual people in terms of opportunities, accessibilities, and usabilities (Acilar, 2011). Lee and Park (2011) and Barzilai-Nahon (2006) suggested that the digital divide issues should be considered as an important public issue because proper public response may enhance or reduce the information gaps by the digital divide. This study is a follow-up study of the study of Lee and Park. This study's main aim is to clarify the changes of the digital divide in the rural areas during five years and to find out meaningful factors to reduce the gaps between the rural area and urban area. To achieve the research aim, this study analyzes the public data by ITSTAT and previous studies on the digital divide. Also this study follows the system thinking approach to model the causal relationships among diverse factors on the digital divide. With the results, this study suggests that the factors to measure the digital divide should be re-designed including smartphone penetration and accessibilities. Especially, current digital divide scoring factors should be considered in the way of social welfare.
