Purpose - This study aims to examine the incremental information content of cash flw from operations and earnings in the Iranian capital market. Design, methodology, and approach - Based on market-based accounting research, this study uses statistical associations between accounting data (earnings and cash flw) and stock returns to assess/measure the incremental information content (value relevance) of cash flw and earnings. A multivariate regression model based on panel data is used to examine the incremental information content of earnings and cash flow from operations. Results - The results show that both earnings and cash flow from operations have incremental information content beyond each other. These results are consistent with the findings of recent studies. Overall, the fidings of this study support the usefulness of cash flw information in addition to earnings, in fim valuation by investors in the Iranian market. Conclusions - The study makes the following contributions to the Iranian literature on incremental information content of cash flw and earnings. First, this study employs actual cash flw data derived from cash flw statements. Second, this study employs a large sample size for a more recent period.

Library and information science(LIS) has been focused on the issues of information poverty and barriers and their relations, mainly in terms of current information users. However, potential users usually out of sight in library and information services undoubtedly are to be developed as legitimate clientele. In this regard, this paper attempts to shed light on some factors related to the methodological underpinnings of LIS. Ethnographic research is particularly highlighted. Purpose - The purpose of this research is to discover whether the presence of the product average rating introduces biases or change the way people perceive information. We posit that review's overall rating has a predisposition effect on consumers' perception towards detailed review information. Research design, data, and methodology - To test these hypotheses, we conducted an empirical study on a real-world setting of online shopping platform. We choose the Amazon website to test our results. The data we use were collected by the Stanford Network Analysis Project1 (McAuley et al., 2013). Results - With a dataset containing reviews of seven product categories from amazon.com., our findings could possess more generalizability as they are produced on the typical and influential online market. Second, as our research provides alternative views of consumers' shopping behavior, it is better to test our hypotheses by data from the same source. Conclusions - Our study reveals the impact of the collective rating presence on consumers' diagnosticity perception and sheds light upon some of the conflictive results in prior studies. Our research generates implications to both theories and business practices, and suggests future directions for the research question.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is a preliminary study to develop a comprehensive information avoidance scale that includes various search contexts. Research design, data and methodology: This study is a part of exploratory sequential design of mixed method for the development of information avoidance scale. Based on the themes derived from the analysis of the in-depth interview data collected in the qualitative research of the first stage of the study, 45 preliminary items on information search and avoidance were constructed. The factors related to information searching included information recognition, information seeking purpose, and information search expectations. Individual, information, time, and system factors were related to information avoidance. Pearson's correlation analysis was performed for the correlation between factor items, and Cronbach's alpha analysis was performed for the reliability analysis of the items. Exploratory factor analysis was applied to examine the construct validity of 35 items of information avoidance. Results: Among the information avoidance items, one of the less relevant among information purpose items, two information factor items, and one time factor item were excluded. Conclusions: A secondary survey should be conducted to confirm the validity and reliability of the scale composed of adjusted items (35) based on the results of exploratory factor analysis. The strength of this preliminary scale is that it was developed based on vivid qualitative data of ordinary people who had experiences of search and avoidance in various search contexts.

Comparative analyses were carried out on SCI publication results produced by scientists during their employment at the five domestic ocean-related college and six major oceanographic institutes in other countries. Assessment of research performance included bibliometric indicators : type of research categories, and, evaluation of the reliability of citation data to establish future research goals. Analysis parameters also included number of SCI publication results, cited frequency, higher ranked author group, higher ranked Journal group, higher ranked SCI category for each academic and research Institutes in oceanography. Such analyses can help improve and achieve institutional goals in the future as well as help managing and prioritizing majors scientific journals and information services.

This research is to investigate the effects of product involvement on the selection of online shopping malls. From the statistical analysis of 282 response data, it was found that consumers buying products with higher involvement tend to shop in a shopping mall with greater trust, which provide more information regarding their products and a wider variety of products. The other purpose of this research is to investigate factors of shopping malls which influence the buyer's purchase intention. The results of data analysis indicate that consumers are more likely to buy in a shopping mall with greater trust, with detailed product information, and with higher entertaining contents. The results of the study indicate that the shopping malls which give more detailed product information to their customers and establish greater trust will finally lead to a higher sales revenue because more expensive products will be sold.

This study aims to investigate a framework for linkage of national research performance evaluation and research information service from the perspective of metadata representation and exchange. Based on results of the functional requirements for metadata of national research performance evaluation are derived, this study suggests strategies for the application of international metadata standards. Also, this study presents an method to implement the metadata of research performance evaluation based on OAI-ORE, which is an international standard that can reuse and exchange the research information on web architecture.

This study aims at reviewing and analyzing the characteristics of library and information science in Korea by examming the research papers in two representative journals. In Korea, related scholarly associations have began about twenty years ago and produced a lot of research papers. For this work, I have established two aspects of knowledge system - cognitive object and subject. In this regards, the cognitive object menas the contents of research papers and the cognitive subject means the research methodology. In my opinion, this study obtains some characteristics of library and information science in Korea as follows: 1. There have been many research fields, but most of them have finished with just one or two results and not researched. 2. The adaption of information science to library science was hasty and had not the good effects in scholastic development. 3. Most research papers have been influenced by methodological prejudices. 4. In settling the native principles for the Korean phenomenon, there have been many problems. To solve these problems, I suggest that the existing research attitudes be converted to new one. I call this new research attitude 'everyday life centered research method'. Using this method, we can find the true basics and principles of library and information science in Korea.
