A study of Search trends about herbal medicine on online portal (온라인 포털에서 한약재 검색 트렌드와 의미에 대한 고찰)

  • Objectives : The internet is the most common method to investigate information. It is showed that 75.2% of Internet users of 20s had health information search experience. So this study is aim to understanding of interest of public about the herbal medicine using internet search query volume data.Methods : The Naver that is the top internet portal web service of the Republic of Korea has provided an Internet search query volume data from January 2007 to the current through the Naver data lab (http://datalab.naver.com) service. We have collected search query volume data which was provided by the Naver in 606 herbal medicine names and sorted the data by peak and total search volume.Results : The most frequently searched herbal medicines which has less bias and sorted by peak search volume is 'wasong (와송)'. And the most frequently searched herbal medicines which has less bias and sorted by total search volume is 'hasuo (하수오)'.Conclustions : This study is showed that the rank of interest of public about herbal medicines. Among the above herbal medicines, some herbal medicines had supply issue. And there are some other herbal medicines that had very little demand in Korean medicine market, but highly interested public. So it is necessary to monitor for these herbal medicines which is highly interested of the public. Furthermore if the reliability of the data obtained on the basis of these studies, it is possible to be utilizing herbal medicine monitoring service.

Review of Clinical Studies Using Oral Appliance in Korean Medicine (구강 내 장치를 이용한 한의 임상연구 고찰)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this review is to analyse the trends of clinical studies using oral appliance in Korean Medicine. Methods: We reviewed Korean Medicine papers by searching Korean web databases 'Korea Traditional Knowledge Portal (KTKP)', 'Korea Medical Information Portal (OASIS)', 'Academic Research Information Service (RISS)', 'Scientific and Technological Information Integration Service (NDSL)'. We classified the papers by the year of publishment, the title of journals, the type of study and contents. Results: 1. Clinical studies using oral appliance have been increasingly published since 2011. 2. Most of the studies were published in the Journal of TMJ Balancing Medicine. 3. 33 research papers were divided in to 6 original articles, 27 case reports. But almost presented a low level of evidence. 4. In the content of the studies, oral appliance were used for various diseases such as nervous system, musculoskeletal system and visceral system. Conclusions: We expect that various studies and clinical application will be actively carried out with the development of technology related to oral appliance.

  • 본 연구는 최근 인터넷 분야에서 각광을 받고 있는 포털사이트의 개념, 특징 및 구성요소에 대해 살펴보았다. 세계적으로 유명한 대표적 포털사이트인 마이크로소프트(MSN), 아메리카 온라인(AOL), 야후(YAHOO)의 포털서비스 사례를 컨텐츠(contents), 커뮤니티(community), 커뮤니케이션(communication), 커머스(commerce)의 유형으로 나누어 알아보았다. 이러한 포털사이트의 개념을 도서관의 통합정보 서비스 제공에 적용할 수 있는지 알아보기 위하여 학술정보 전문 포털사이트인 한국교육학술정보원(KERIS), 연구개발정보센터(KORDIC), LG상남도서관의 포털사이트의 주요 내용을 살펴보고, 학술정보 전문 포털사이트의 모형 구축을 시도하였다.

  • As computer technology continues to evolve, the Computational Sciences utilized in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, and Life Sciences have been attracting more attention. In Korea, to compensate for the drawbacks in Computational Science, students and researchers have been using the EDISON platform. The EDISON platform provides a web portal service for education and research and an environment for addressing complex issues involving five fields, e.g., Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Nanophysics, Computational Chemistry, Structural Dynamics, and Computational Design. As the platform and user scale increase beyond service provision, the need for efficient operation of its currently running data management system is on the rise. In this study, we resolve the data synchronization issues between the existing EDISON platform and web portal. As the EDISON platform is integrated with the web portal, a file management service is implemented to integrate the management of user data and files, which ultimately improves the overall efficiency of file management.

  • As growth of the web-based applications, the requirements of the users who have been very familiar to the web-based user interfaces and customer-oriented services on the Internet would become more knowledge-intensive and higher technology involved in a more convenient and polite way of service delivery. Therefore, the service quality of information system department should be considered as a very important factor influencing success of information systems. The objective of this study is to provide the relationship between service quality of IS department and its impacts such as use, user satisfaction and job performance. For this purpose, we provide a research model for it and test it empirically for the users of the corporate portal in one of main telecommunication service providers in Korea. In result, our model with satisfiable validity and reliability shows not only importance of IS departments' service quality but also two-faced characteristics of service quality. That is, while technical competence which means with knowledge and expertise of IS department staffs is more related with user satisfaction on information systems, personal service which means the way and manner of service delivery is more related with use of it.

  • Understanding the importance of web accessibility as the solution for digital divide, this study recognizes the problem that existing web accessibility researches have been conducted only by governmental administrative organizations and the accessibility researches of web service that is frequently used in every day life are rare. For the research on the actual condition of web-accessability, this study selected the e-mail service of the representative web-service providers - Daum, Naver, and Empas. Through this evaluation research, this study is intended to present a way to provide convenient and efficient service for those who have been alienated from information. For the accessibility evaluation, the automation evaluation tool "KADO-WAH 2.0" was used. And then, source analysis and manual evaluation using Firefox were conducted to see if 'web contents accessibility guideline 1.0' had been kept.

Test and Analysis for Improving the Service Quality of Korean Medicine Knowledge Portal (한의 지식 포털 서비스 고도화를 위한 테스트 및 유관 사이트 분석)

  • KOIN (Korean medicine 人, http://www.koin.re.kr) is a Korean medicine knowledge portal developed for users who are interested in Korean medicine to share relevant information. The purpose of the present study is to seek methods for advancing the quality of the contents and services of KOIN to secure future users of the portal services before fully initiating the KOIN service. The crowd testing method was applied to test the functionality and usability of the current KOIN service, and domestic and international websites providing similar services were investigated and analyzed. About 150 errors were found in this functional testing procedure, but the identified functional problems were all corrected. An average score of 3.33 was calculated in the usability test, in which the reliability and the playfulness showed the highest and lowest score, respectively. We in this paper surveyed the 15 relevant websites with respect to KOIN in the traditional medicine and the modern medicine fields. The strengths and weaknesses of similar websites were analyzed to improve the KOIN services. In particular, it is shown that the evidence-based Korean medicine knowledge is KOIN's biggest strength. Users' needs and demand for the KOIN services will be continuously gathered to provide the Korean medicine knowledge services that the users require.

Improvement of Traffic Information Contents of Portal Site focused on User's Satisfaction (이용자 만족도 중심의 인터넷포탈 교통정보 콘텐츠 개선방안)

  • Recently, use frequency for traffic information which provides shortest paths and traffic condition is increasing. Specially, in the survey, it is shown that users prefer internet portal sites which can be used the most easily among traffic information media. But, there are not many verification systems for traffic information contents of internet portal sites which collect and provide information than traffic information contents which are provided by public service. The purpose of this study is to investigate real accuracy and accuracy felt by users about information provided by portal sites. Therefore, in this research we verified accuracy of information by portal site with real field data and investigate real usage about contents and experienced accuracy by users through survey. Also, users' expectation and satisfaction were surveyed and the contents to be improved were selected by using IPA technique. By the result of accuracy verification by field data using portable DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) devices, it is shown that average error was 14~32% and sometimes very high rate. Also, it is shown that 28.3 % of total respondents prefers the information by portal sites and 50 % of total respondents felt that contents of traffic information by portal sites are not accurate. Real-time traffic condition was selected as the most inaccurate one among all contents of traffic information and it was analyzed that intensive efforts for improving information about real-time traffic condition are needed.

A Study on the eWOM and Selecting Movie According to Online Media and Replies (온라인 매체와 댓글에 따른 영화 구전의도 및 관람의도에 관한 연구)

  • A great number of customers, who want to watch movies usually check out online reviews before choosing what to watch a movie. The most representative online media that customers consult are portal sites and SNS (Social Network Service). Although there have been numerous studies on online eWOM (e-Word of Mouth) and the effects of online media in businesses, it remains a question that which media is best for WOM (Word of Mouth) when selecting movies. This research examines customer's intention for consulting eWOM and for watching movies according to the number and tendency of online replies. We have compared portal sites and SNS about information of movie. The study shows that a large number of positive replies can affect the intention for WOM and choosing movies. Facebook has more influence than portal sites when choosing what to watch when replies consist of large and positive comments. However, there is no difference between the two types of media when they consist of negative comments.
