  • While information technology has been advanced impressively, the issue of system underutilization has continued. Although TAM provides a theoretical and empirical model for explaining information technology acceptance, there exist some issues: lack of focusing task and organization. The present study examines the motivational factors influencing the beliefs about the system, in terms or the extended TTF (task-technology fit) model, to address the issues. For this purpose, an exploratory case study was conducted based on the data gathered from a Web-based survey. The present research proposes five propositions, based on the results of the case study and prior study findings, which can be used as a starting point fur future research.

  • The recent information society is affected by new technologies including EC(Electronic Commerce), CALS(Commerce At Light Speed), EDI(Electronic Data Interchange), telecommuting and teleconferencing. The research goal of this paper is to identify major failure factors to reduce the dysfunction of EC and to suggest possible strategies that overcome those obstacles. The research methodologies of major failure factors are very similar to those of critical success factors which were widely used in MIS research areas. Ideally EC provides the possibility of a win/win situation for vendors and consumers. A survey study was performed using questionnaires. The factor analysis was performed to identify failure factors. Several hypotheses were set up to identify the major failure factors to reduce the dysfunction of EC. The regession analysis was performed to test those hypotheses and to understand the relationships between the major failure factors identified and the performance variables such as satisfaction, usage, and usefulness. Finally, the paper suggests alternatives to activate EC in terms of regulations, social rules, a technological model, etc.

  • The significances of this paper are of two points. One is that this research develops the query expansion search by adding the related terms based on the dictionary to the original query terms. This method shortens the process of the conventional model of query expansion utilizing the feedback data of the search. The other is that this research tries to find out the optimal point of precisions and recalls by differentiating the weight ratio between original quay and additional terms. This method shows that the efficiency and precision of query expansion search increase.

  • Singular value decomposition (SDV) approach is applied to the observability analysis of GPS/INS in this paper. A measure of observability for a subspace is introduced. It indicates the minimum size of perturbation in the information matrix that makes the subspace unobservable. It is shown that the measure has direct connections with observability of systems, error covariance, and singular structure of the information matrix. The observability measure given in this paper is applicable to the multi-input/multi-output time-varying systems. An example on the observability analysis of GPS/INS is given. The measure of observability is confirmed to be less sensitive to system model perturbation. It is also shown that the estimation error for the vertical component of gyro bias can be considered unobservable for small initial error covariance for a constant velocity horizontal motion.

  • In this paper the use of panchromatic KOMPSAT-1 imagery is proposed to provide detailed information on built-up areas in suburban regions. In order to derive this information a texture analysis is utilized. In the next processing step census data are incorporated in order to perform refined demographic analysis. Assuming that the population lives in settlements rather than in agricultural areas, the census data are assigned to the actual residential areas within each census unit. Using this information a number of questions can be addressed which cannot be answered by statistical data alone.

  • In this paper, we purpose the integrated TMS to solve the problem of current systems. The current system resulted in inconvenience because customers and users must contact to each system, when they want to know the information about orders. In this research, we develope a system with which customers and users can confirm all of order information from one system. To solve this problem, the information brought from two systems is integrated by constructing integrated database.

  • The role of Logistics Information Technology(LIT) activity within the firm has broadened considerably over the past decade and it been a topic of growing importance for both practitioners and academicians since the mid-1990's as logistics efficiencies have become a main concern in today's business management. This research empirically examines the difference between firm characteristics and LIT activity, thus offers an strategic guideline for practicers.

  • Information should be properly shared and clearly recognized by not only the individuals within an enterprise but also the partners and the customers. Physical and logical collaboration between the application systems, therefore, became important, and building such collaborative function in an information system has been one of the major issues of the solution providers. In this paper we first interpret the term collaboration from the information system perspective. Then we discuss the collaboration system in two aspects; system integration and user interface.

  • SME's (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) have limited resources to build information systems on their own. We suggest what government need to do to support SME's, which includes establishing a one-stop service center, outsourcing of public service, and triggering strategy In order for the government support to be effective, it should serve SME's needs continuously and professionally.
