  • This study is a qualitative study to explore caring of a mentally disabled family using mental rehabilitation facilities. As a result of the analysis, the life of a mentally disabled family appeared in 6 topics and 12 sub-themes. Life before the outbreak was warm and comfortable like an electric stove, and a frustrating and difficult life like a parrot in a cage due to family conflicts. The feeling of looking at the child who is starting to develop symptoms is fear and hopelessness that is hard to see ahead, and a sense of guilt for a child trapped in a disease before blooming his life. Forced hospitalization, and my feelings were torn apart, and my thoughts were confused by opaque recovery and worries about future life. The experience I felt as the disease lasted for a long time and hospitalized and discharged repeatedly feared that the mental illness of the family would be known to the people around me, and found that they struggled to cope with repeated recurrence and worsening symptoms. While using mental rehabilitation facilities, the changed life was comforted in a comfortable shelter, and turned out that there was hope for the future and that there was room to smile. The life expected in the future and the theme of hope turned out to be grateful for small changes and determined to be a warm fence for recovery.

  • According to the Facility Management System (FMS) operated by the Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety, it is expected that the number of aging facilities that have been in use for more than 30 years will increase rapidly to 13.9% in 2019 and 34.5% in 2929, and end up with a social problem. In addition, with the revision of "Common Application of Seismic Design Criteria" by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in 2017, it is mandatory to re-evaluate all existing road facilities and if necessary seismic reinforcement should be done to minimize the magnitude of earthquake damage and perform normal road functions. The seismic performance management-decision support technology currently used in seismic performance management practice in Korea only determines the earthquake-resistance reinforcement priority based on the qualitative index value for the seismic performance of individual facilities. However with this practice, normal traffic functions cannot be guaranteed. A new seismic performance management decision support technology that can provide various judgment data required for decision making is needed to overcome these shortcomings and better perform seismic performance management from a road network perspective.

  • Recently, due to climate change, the slope is increasing, and the risk of steep slope disasters such as the occurrence of slope collapse in the east coast and Busan region in 2019 and the Gokseong landslide in 2020 is increasing. Particularly, most national parks are made up of mountainous areas, and the risk of disasters on steep slopes is increasing. As the ground of the national park is aging and the weathering and jointing of the bedrock are accelerating due to climate change, the slope collapse and rockfall are increasing, and the annual number of visitors is increasing, it is necessary to manage steep slopes adjacent to multi-use facilities with many users. In this study, dangerous steep slopes that affect multi-use facilities in national parks were analyzed using GIS and verified through field surveys. As a process for extracting steep slopes adjacent to multi-use facilities in national parks, the slope was made in DEM and slopes of 34 degrees or higher were extracted. The difference between the maximum and minimum heights of the extracted slopes was used to confirm that the slopes met the standard for steep slopes, and the analysis of the slope direction was used to confirm whether it had an effect on the multi-use facilities. After that, precision aerial images and field photos were analyzed to finally identify risks at 4 sites, and field surveys were conducted. As a result of the field survey, all 4 sites were found to be steep slopes, 3 were graded D and 1 was graded C, so it was confirmed that management was required as a risk of collapse. All steep slopes extracted through GIS were found to be dangerous, so it is judged that the extraction of steep slopes through GIS would be appropriate.

  • In commercial transactions of energy sources using hydrogen charging stations, high-accuracy flow meters are needed to prevent accidents such as overcharging due to inaccurate measurements and to ensure transparency in hydrogen commercial transactions through accurate measurements. This research developed a Corioli-type flowmeter prototype and conducted a risk assessment to prevent accidents during a process change comparison experiment for existing charging stations to verify the measurement performance. A process change section was defined for the installation of measurement facilities for empirical experiments and HAZOP was conducted. In addition, JSA was also conducted to secure the safety of experimenters, such as preventing valve mis-opening during empirical experiments. Measures were established to improve the risk factors derived through HAZOP, and work procedures were established to minimize human errors and ensure the safety of workers through JSA. The design change and system manufacturing for the installation of the metering system were completed by reflecting the risk assessment results, and safety could be confirmed through the performance comparison test of the developed meter prototype. The developed prototype flow meter showed a total of 30 flow measurements under the operating conditions of 70 MPa, and the average error was -1.58% to 3.96%. Such a metering error was analyzed to have the same performance as a flow meter installed and operated for commercial use.

  • In addition to the assessment measure of electric quality levels, load loss are also a factor in hindering the financial profits of electrical sales companies. Therefore, accurate analysis of load losses generated from distributed power networks is very important. The accurate calculation of load losses in the distribution line has been carried out for a long time in many research institutes as well as power utilities around the world. But it is increasingly difficult to calculate the exact amount of loss due to the increase in the congestion of distribution power network due to the linkage of distributed energy resources(DER). In this paper, we develop smart grid big data infrastructure in order to accurately analyze the load loss of the distribution power network due to the connection of DERs. Through the preprocess of data selected from the smart grid big data, we develop a load loss analysis model that eliminated 'veracity' which is one of the characteristics of smart grid big data. Our analysis results can be used for facility investment plans or network operation plans to maintain stable supply reliability and power quality.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the accessibility to dental facilities and the differences in chief complaints of new patients who visited Pusan National University Dental Hospital. We collected information from electronic medical records for 1,820 new patients. The accessibility was analyzed by measuring the distance from the patient's house to the dental facilities. The distance was categorized into 10 km sections, and the presence or absence of a local pediatric dental clinic within 10 km of the patient's house was also categorized. As the distance between the house and Pusan National University Dental Hospital increased, the proportion of patients who visited for dental caries decreased, and orthodontic treatment increased. Dental caries accounts for 27.9% of less than 10 km and 20.5% over 30 km. Orthodontic treatment accounts for 25.4% within 10 km and 27.3% more than 30 km away. The presence or absence of a local pediatric dental clinic within 10 km did not significantly affect the distribution of chief complaints. This study can be used as basic research data to establish effective treatment measures that can improve the physical and geographical accessibility of patients visiting pediatric dentistry.

  • The purpose of this study was to ensure that the elderly do not enter a facility even if their health deteriorates, but continue to live in the community and receive necessary care. According to the survey of the elderly, the cohabitation type of the elderly in Korea was that they lived with married adults and/or unmarried children in addition to single and married households. Therefore, in this study, using the SPSS 25 program, the effects of the elderly's socio-demographic characteristics and cohabitation type on the intention to continue living in the community was analyzed using the 2020 elderly welfare status survey data. The main research results are as follows. First, gender, age, and residence type of the demographic characteristics of the elderly were found to be statistically significant. Second, single households, married households, and households living with the eldest son revealed the statistical significance level of the elderly. Based on this, we were intending to provide basic data necessary for establishing welfare policies for the elderly, such as strengthening care and an age-friendly environment, in order to improve the continued residence of the elderly in the local community.

  • The condition of infrastructure deteriorates as the service life increases. Since most infrastructure in South Korea were intensively built during the period of economic growth, the proportion of outdated infrastructure is rapidly increasing now. Aging of such infrastructure can lead to safety accidents and even human casualties. To prevent these issues in advance, periodic and accurate inspection is essential. For this reason, the need for research to detect various types of damage using computer vision and deep learning is increasingly required in the field of remotely controlled or autonomous inspection. To this end, this study proposed a neural network structure that can detect concrete damage by classifying it into three types. In particular, the proposed neural network can detect them more accurately through a hierarchical learning technique. This neural network was trained with 2,026 damage images and tested with 508 damage images. As a result, we completed an algorithm with average mean intersection over union of 67.04% and F1 score of 52.65%. It is expected that the proposed damage detection algorithm could apply to accurate facility condition diagnosis in the near future.

  • Recently, as underground facilities buried under roads in Korea are aging, the amount of underground facility maintenance work is rapidly increasing. For the maintenance and management of such underground facilities, the cutting work of the road pavement should be preceded. However, the conventional road pavement cutters used in Korea are not eco-friendly, and the reality is that they generate a lot of noise and cutting sludge (scattering dust). Therefore, in this study, the concept of the cutting sludge recovery device was derived, and an eco-friendly pavement cutter including this function was designed and manufactured. The developed equipment took about 20 to 30 seconds to cut 1m to a depth of 100 to 150mm. Also, the sludge suction performance was good in most sections, and the noise level of the equipment briefly measured at a distance of 2m was 82.7dB on average. However, due to the limitation that the developed equipment was at the level of the first prototype, the driving stability was somewhat low, and equipment abnormalities such as engine shutdown and sludge recovery performance decreased in some cases. The cutting performance and sludge recovery function will be more stable through tuning and improvement of the developed prototype in the future. In addition, we plan to quantitatively compare and analyze productivity by applying the improved prototype to actual field conditions.

  • This research compares and analyzes evacuation time depending on the change in stair width in case of fire at Goshiwons. For this, a simulation has been conducted based on possible evacuation time according to the calculation method for the number of people admittable to a specific target for fire fighting equipped with accommodation. Currently, Gosiwon, which is classified as an accommodation facility (a total floor area of 500 m2 or more), uses blind spots prescribed by the Fire Services Act, Building Act, and Parking Act to build a high-rise building on a small area of land, and most Gosiwon is transformed into a modified accommodation. This is in line with the owner's operating profit, so it is expected to show a continuous increase. Securing the golden time of Gosiwon evacuation time is the last bastion of Gosiwon residents who belong to the economically disadvantaged in our society, and we hope this study will serve as a starting point for discussions on revising related laws and regulations to establish a social safety net As a result of the evacuation simulation analysis, the evacuation time was the least when the width of the group and the evacuation stairs were expanded to 200cm, and the evacuation time of the existing building was reduced by up to 166.3 seconds by comparing 648.4 seconds and scenario 6. This analysis can be meaningful, in that the width of the evacuation stairs revision of related laws and regulations for the safety of multiplex available premises.
