The basic for the achievement of the community forestry rests within the Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs). They are responsible to establish good governance, sustainable forest management and improve people's livelihoods. The study aimed to assess the governance score prevailing in CFUGs using stratified random sampling. Our study shows the governance score of 64.17% in community forests with highest 73.94% in Bhotechaur community forest and lowest 56.60% in Tinkanya community forest. Among the eight elements of good governance, consensus-oriented was found highest while responsiveness was lowest in the study area. Further, the independent variables such as well-being ranking (χ2=21.695, df=6, p<0.01), source of income (χ2=20.474, df=6, p<0.01) and education status (χ2=17.450, df=6, p<0.01) has significant impact on governance. Based upon the findings, it is very clear that good governance in CFs are more than average but still not up to the mark. Finally, it calls for rethinking that involving all the stakeholders during planning phases delineating the responsibility and power for correspondents can make possible in achieving sustainability in community forest.
This study is an exploratory case study of a humanity community building process in a rural area context, particularly in the villages of Eoro-ri, Chilgok-gun, and Gyeongsangbuk-do. Chilgok-Gun has institutionalized support systems for a humanity community building, and has implemented some programs for four years. This article uses a qualitative approach to analyze the process of community buildings, such as in-depth interviews and observations. The analysis is based on the process of discovering, vitalization, and self-governing for community buildings, and give some implications for future community buildings in a rural area context as follows. First, the village leader constantly needs to be cultivated. The village leader is not a simple representative of the village. He constantly needs to make efforts to communicate with the villagers. Second, learning through constant self-reflection is necessary for the villagers. It is important to make community programs and residents' small meetings to facilitate reflection. In community buildings, the process of communication and consultation for villagers is more important. The process that creates a new value of the village in the learning process takes place. Third, talented village people who can develop the village should be educated. This is a virtuous circle for Village Development. Aging in rural areas has been deepening, which will affect the future of local communities that can meet in accordance with various crises and responses. There is a need for complex research on sustainable ways to reinvent itself as a community.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the trends of jjok-bang research based on the perspective of Community-Based Participatory Research and Social Ecological Model and to provide information for future public health interventions, policy designs, and policy implementations. Methods: Studies used in the systematic review are published from 1999 to 2014 and searched using key words such as 'jjok-bang' and 'single room occupancy' using domestic and international electronic databases. However, there were no studies from abroad published during this period. Search in domestic databases such as KCI, KISS, RISS generated 119 studies. In this paper, 20 cases which meet the criteria of the systematic review were included in the final analysis. Results: The contents of research included are the life of jjok-bang inhabitants(9 cases), the demand for welfare services(4 cases) and welfare need(2 cases), mental health(1 cases), and the history of jjok-bang formation(4 cases). Fourteen cases of empirical study were analyzed focusing Community-Based Participatory Research and Social Ecological Model. Some of research was carried out forming a partnership with various community partners and this trend increased since 2008. There are high frequency of intrapersonal level and interpersonal level studies. However, studies looking at the organization, community or policy level were relatively few. Conclusions: Future studies of jjok-bang area should consider the various social determinants which affect the health delivery system, community organization and policies, as well as individual or community level.

Purpose: The aims of this study were to identify successful strategies and propose a community-based participatory global health project model for primary health care capacity development. Methods: The study used case study methodology. A The unit of analysis was an international cooperation health project entitled "Community-based Primary Health Care Improvement in San Lorenzo, Ecuador" using community-based participatory research conducted in 2007~2008. Data were collected through windshield surveys, focus group discussion, key informant interviews, and provider surveys. Results: Identified successful strategies for the international cooperation health project were reciprocal partnership between researchers and community, partners' capacity building, south-to-south cooperation, and continuous monitoring and feedback. Community participation was found to be an essential tenet to guarantee the improvement of primary health care in the underserved rural community. Evidence from the activities of community health practitioners in Korea was applicable to the development of training programs for primary health care providers in Ecuador. Second, it is important to provide a variety of shared spaces while maintaining the uniqueness of each facility from a hardware perspective, and must be planned in such a way that selective interaction takes place with privacy and interaction in mind. Third, in terms of software, programs that meet the characteristics of each user must be provided. Conclusions: It is expected that the results of this research can be used as basic data for planning community facilities that integrate generations based on local communities, contributing to the search for sustainable ways to revitalize intergenerational exchange in the future.

There are limited research questioning the relationship between the disabled community and media, particularly in Malaysia. The lack of awareness and common assumption of specialty towards the disabled community have caused a small amount of local disability researches that question the relationship between the disabled community and the media. This research aims to find out the types of representation of disability in the Malaysian mainstream media, particularly press. Interview with visual disabled personnel and content analysis from news coverage of mainstream press are deployed in the study. The findings indicated the invalidity of disability culture as the misrepresentation of disabled community in Malaysia is not as severe as depicted by scholars because the news coverage focusing on them is getting more positive. Besides that, disabled people are not defensive towards the terms used to refer them as long as media practitioners do not over amplify their disability. The application of charity approach is still common in news coverage to portray the disabled community as victim, and therefore they are partially marginalized due to the misrepresentation in Malaysian mainstream press.
