  • This study examines the characteristics of expressing hippie styles in contemporary women's collections and analyzes them to benefit future fashion design and research. This study reviewed advanced research, fashion magazines, and information providers. The advanced research determined the study's scope by pinpointing the designers who introduced the hippie style into their collections. The results are as follows: First, the reproduced hippie style appears as the combination of various colors and materials, a convergence or mixture of styles, or the use of collage or patchwork. It employs natural silhouettes or varied colors and materials, which makes the renewed hippie style more luxurious than in the past. Second, the reproduced hippie style emphasizes and distinguishes between two types of femininity: a girlish, romantic image using A-line silhouettes and, bright, gleaming colors, and a sexy version that boldly exposes the body or women's curves and, uses soft and flexible materials. Third, the exotic tendencies found in the reproduced hippie style reflect the characteristics of the times, folk costume, or eastern or western features perceived as exotic. Recently, traditional costumes have changed slightly to recall characteristics found in the past. Fourth, the reproduced hippie style reflects hippies' affection for and interest in nature by using environmentally-friendly materials like natural fibers. Flowers, the symbol of hippies, appear most frequently.

  • Currently, the beauty of Korean traditional furniture has been changed irregularly and even the traditional character has been distorted. The purpose of the study is to examine the current situations of traditional bedroom-furnitures that are reproduced and sold at the markets in Korea. The eight companies were selected as a research sample. All those companies also participated at the "Living-design Fair 2003 and 2004" The traditional bedroom-furnitures were the limited products as a research target. As a method of the research, the content analysis such as names, dimensions and types was used. The results of research were as follows: 1) Using the confused names for a same item, 2) Changes of dimensions, 3) Diversification of the types, 4) Mixing with Japanese style furniture in the Korean traditional furniture market. On the basis of the results, selected eight companies were divided into three types: First, representation of traditions near to the prototype, second, reforming to be suitable to the contemporary life-style, and the last, mixing of Japanese style furniture. This research will make us be concerned about reproduced Korean traditional furniture and established the position to seek for Koreanity. This research expected to be a reference to develope Korean traditional furniture industry, opportunity of verification for reproduced Korean traditional furniture companies and find out the change of life-style through a comparison analysis of the original traditional furniture.furniture.

  • Five isolates of Belonolaimus longicaudatus collected from different geographical locations and hosts in southeastern United Stated were tested to determine their host specificity and reproductive compatibility. Both the Georgia and Lake Alfred isolates reproduced well on cotton, bermudagrass, and citrus. On the other hand, the North Carolina and Gainesville isolates reproduced poorly on all crops. The Hastings isolate reproduced well on cotton and potato. The Lake Alfred and Hastings isolates showed greater host specificity to their original host of citrus and potato, respectively. Except for the Hastings isolate, all isolates reproduced poorly on potato, which clearly differentiated the Hastings isolate from others (P>0.05). Hybridization test presented reproductive compatibility among five different isolates of B. longicaudatus by generating F$_1$ offspring. The Gainesville males showed comparatively poor ability to fertilize other females and generated a lower number of offspring. In contrast, the North Carolina males were attracted by all the other isolates of sting nematode, and produced the highest number of juveniles.

  • Reproduced colors which are half-tone printed at the rate of 10,20,30, ...100% half-tone dot area by each process ink- cyan, magenta, yellow and at the rates of 0,30,60, 100% half-tone dot areas by the mean color mixing of black, cyan, magenta and yellow, are colorimetric analyzed by make use of the 1931 CIE XYZ system of color specification and matching the Munsell color system. Espacially, magenta and secondary colors which are contained magenta, do not have good uniformity and proportionalization in the dominant wavelength and the excitation purity. Half-tone colors without reflection of blue light, are reproduced ideal color with the excitation purity 100% in wavelengths from 555nm to 600nm.

  • In this study, we tried to reproduce some of the cosmetics from the Joseon period based on the previous analysis of the cosmetics excavated from the tomb of Princess Hwahyup. The two cosmetic powders, the white powder consisting of lead(II) carbonate and talc and the cinnabar-based red powder, were reproduced according to the records from the 6th to the 19th centuries. We also studied the degradation profiles of these reproduced samples by comparison of XRD patterns. Basic lead carbonate of the reproduced white powder turned into lead(II) carbonate, while the reproduced red powder showed different crystalline structure from the excavated cosmetics even after the degradation. Results of the evaluation tests showed that these reproduced cosmetics fell short of the standards set for the modern-day cosmetics, but based on their mixing ratio, the spreadability and oil absorption capacity of some samples of the reproduced white powder were found to be similar to those of the modern cosmetics.

  • In DTP systems, satisfactory matching the appearance of displayed image on CRT and that of a reproduced binary image is very important. Most halftoning techniques assume that the printed color dots are square. However, most printers produce roughly circular dots. Thus, there is overlap between adjacent dots, and dots accupy adjcent space that should be empty space. These results are because the significant image distortion on the reproduced images. In this paper, we proposed a new tone correction digital halftoning method based on equi-visual perception characteristic.

  • The plastic arts is used when designers draw inspirations to create fashion design. The author referred to fashion magazines for designing ideas of Mondrian's geometrical abstract painting in practical applications used by designers in Paris, Italy, London and New York during the 10-year period(1991-2000). The collections of data were analyzed as following: ◇ Fashion Designing Idea 1. Matching Idea The art is reproduced in the design as how it is with no transformation. First, the painting's complete figure is reproduced on the entire or parts of clothing. Second, the painting's partial figure is reproduced on the entire or parts of clothing. 2. Contrasting Ideas The composition elements in Mondrian's geometrical abstract painting, for example, structures of shapes, vertical and horizontal lines and different colors are applied in the design. First, one particular shape in painting is transformed into different shape of square, circle or triangle and reproduced in designing. Second, one particular shape in painting is disassembled and then reshaped into different form in reproduction. Third, additional lines are put in to create different look from the original painting. Forth, existing lines are extended over the boundary to create different look from the original painting. Fifth, achromatic colors: black and white, and three basic colors: red, blue and yellow in the original painting are modified into different shades or color scheme is increased in broad range.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the family reproduced by fishing village episode 1. (삼시세끼, three meals a day), which attempted a new type of entertainment termed an experiential real entertainment documentary, was produced in a total of nine episodes from October 2014 to March 2015. This study analyzed fishing village episode 1, which was aired in 2015 and obtained the highest ratings, using narrative analysis. The development of was consistently structured in the order of 'wake up - free time - breakfast - lunch - dinner - rest - sleep'. The character construction of the characters was created through the arrangement of a main space and a main role for each of the characters. Also, the characters were in relationships through which they became the background of each other. Therefore, in the family reproduced by , a mother without a father and a father without a mother are impossible. Despite that all the cast members were male, the subtitles constantly gave them the roles of 'housewife/wife/mother', 'father/husband/dad', and 'son', while actively blocking the image of a homosexual family. The family created as such was a family with children, a family with both mother and father, a heterosexual family, and a nuclear family. As a result, reproduced the typical modern family, normal family, and standard family.
