  • Recently, plasma technology has been increasingly applied to agriculture and foods. Owing to the three important plasma characteristics which are activation, sterilization, and catalysis, the plasma technology can be properly applied to agriculture, in the other word, to the whole cycle of agriculture from farm to table: seed germination, plant growth, harvest and storage, washing, packaging, transport, in store, household, cooking, garbage, etc. Some representative case studies for plasma activation, sterilization, and catalysis show well that plasma technology can be successfully applied to the whole cycle of agriculture.

  • Financial integration is a phenomenon in which global financial markets are closely connected with each other. This article investigates the integration of Korean stock market with other stock markets using a multivariate GARCH analysis. We chose total seven countries including Korea for this paper based on the amount of export and then we chose major stock indices which can be thought as representative stock markets of those countries. The empirical analysis has shown that countries' financial integration.

  • In the budgeting guidelines, there are rules for calculating design fee and direct costs. However, only the design fee is calculated excluding the direct cost, which causes the cost to be insufficient. Therefore, this study is designed to analyze representative cases where direct costs are insufficient, draw out problems, and propose a way to improve design fees.

  • This study made use of 9 types of utilizing idle farmland deducted from existing research in order to examine cases by type of idle farmland, and selected representative cases by type after analyzing contents of 165 available newspaper articles. Selected Cases were assorted into agricultural use and nonagricultural use, and agricultural use are as followed. (1)Community Service/Farming type is the case of Gimhae city reported on 'Busan Ilbo', (2)High Income/Farming type is the case of cooperative unit of Geumjeong crude drug in Yeongam appeared in 'Newsis', and the case of Omija industry in Mungyeong reported on 'Hankyoreh', (3)Tourism/Landscape/Farming type is the case of rape flowers and buckwheat flowers in Gupo village reported on 'Asia News Agency', (4)Stock Raising/Farming type is the case of growing foraging crops published in 'The Daejeon Ilbo', (5)Weekend farm type is the case of utilizing idle farmlands and creating weekend farm reported on 'Mediawatch', (6)High income/Forest type is creating Mulberry cultivation areas in Hamyang-Gun published in 'Yonhap News', (7)Ecology/Landscape/Forest type is forestation project of idle land reported on 'Newsis', (8)Agricultural Experience Study type is the case of managing agricultural experience study center in Dosun elementary center published in 'Sisajeju' and the case of non-agricultural application case, (9)Ecological Environment type is the case of wetland restoration of idle farmland in Gochang. This study investigated and arranged detailed contents by the literature search and interview investigation according to investigating items such as utilizing area, main agent, purpose, utilizing item, utilizing content, etc. by case. With that, it deducted implications as well as case characteristics, and finally suggested political proposals through the case analysis.

  • The standard of estimate is being used as basic material for appropriating construction expenses of public institutions and private institutions. The present thesis aims to propose a new form of a standard of estimate and a calculation method of work amount of equipment by targeting a representative construction type selected at river reservation work. The present thesis expects that the convenience of users can be expanded by improving applicability of a standard of estimate and simplifying a calculation process of work amount of equipment in a process planning stage so that the provision of work crew lineup information and daily productivity information is possible by a standard of estimate. In case of river conservation work, because the variables called work conditions act very largely, there exists much difficulty for generalizing productivity information and work amount of equipment, but if its accuracy could be enhanced by improving continuous productivity information and work amount information of equipment, the simplification of process planning establishment and cumulative process through a standard of estimate would be possible.

  • In this paper, we propose a new learning method using a variable learning to improve pattern recognition in the FCSR(Fast Commit Slow Recode) learning method of the Fuzzy ART. Traditional learning methods have used a fixed learning rate in updating weight vector(representative pattern). In the traditional method, the weight vector will be updated with a fixed learning rate regardless of the degree of similarity of the input pattern and the representative pattern in the category. In this case, the updated weight vector is greatly influenced from the input pattern where it is on the boundary of the category. Thus, in noisy environments, this method has a problem in increasing unnecessary categories and reducing pattern recognition capacity. In the proposed method, the lower similarity between the representative pattern and input pattern is, the lower input pattern contributes for updating weight vector. As a result, this results in suppressing the unnecessary category proliferation and improving pattern recognition capacity of the Fuzzy ART in noisy environments.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out the implications by studying the optimal mechanism for securing the supply chain competitiveness of manufacturing industries, especially steel-making company. To this end, this paper examined the case of affiliates of the representative global steel group in Korea. So far, research on corporate strategy has been mainly focused on the parent company of large group company, but this time, considering the strategic limitations and characteristics of affiliates of large group company, we will explore the mechanism of supply chain management on the basis of ser-M, and explore appropriate mechanisms for global steel makers and affiliates of large group company. As a result of this study, in affiliates of large group, parent company centered mechanism is easy to operate because many of the affiliates of large group companies are built by the needs of the parent company. Therefore, the mechanism that maximizes the controllable internal Resources from the affiliated companies' position appeared to be suitable. The study on ser-M based supply chain mechanism in this paper is meaningful in that it examines the mechanism focused on the case of supply chain management of global steel manufacturer. The significance can be found in the case study of affiliates. In addition, it is significant in that it is a case study of domestic representative large group affiliates.

  • To act and respond to the climate changes and to bring about power-saving in buildings, the changes in the atmospheric data in Korea are recorded and assessed. For the two regions representative of Korea, the data obtained from HadCM3 and actual data are compared and analyzed so as to concretely evaluate and confirm the changes taking place in the cooling and heating degree days in Korea. For the past 40 years, from 1996 to 2005, the number of heating degree days was on the decline and in the two representative regions, between 1980's and 1990's, the number of decrease in the heating degree days had been quite large. The number of cooling degree days showed a trend of increase since the 1970's and just as in the case of heating degree days, the extent of increase was quite large between the 1980's and the 1990's. The results of comparison of the number of heating and cooling degree days, one obtained from the "Korea Meteorological Administration" and another from the HadCM3 data (E127.5,N37.5,E127.5,N35), which is one of the ways of predicting the climate, showed similar trends in the number of heating degree days in the Yeosu area. However, in the case of the number of heating degree days in Seoul and the number of cooling degree days both in Seoul and Yeosu, the differences in the number ranged from a minimum of 300 days to a maximum of 1500 days. This could be attributed to the grid points used in the HadCM3, the differences in the values of latitudes and longitudes of these two locations considered in this study, topographical differences, heat island effect caused by population density etc. and while using the HadCM3, these variables factors must be taken into consideration.
