  • In this paper, we propose the system for automatic generation of issue analysis report based on social big data mining, with the purpose of resolving three problems of the previous technologies in a social media analysis and analytic report generation. Three problems are the isolation of analysis, the subjectivity of experts and the closure of information attributable to a high price. The system is comprised of the natural language query analysis, the issue analysis, the social big data analysis, the social big data correlation analysis and the automatic report generation. For the evaluation of report usefulness, we used a Likert scale and made two experts of big data analysis evaluate. The result shows that the quality of report is comparatively useful and reliable. Because of a low price of the report generation, the correlation analysis of social big data and the objectivity of social big data analysis, the proposed system will lead us to the popularization of social big data analysis.

  • Background : A report published by the National Institute of Toxicological Research (NITR) in January 2004 about toxic hepatitis in Korea contained the result of analysis on 55 cases of severe toxic hepatitis from 7 university hospitals for 8 months. NITR claimed that the extrapolated annual frequency of severe toxic hepatitis in Korea was 1904 cases per year. They also claimed that the most frequent etiology of severe toxic hepatitis were herbal medications and similar plant preparations (61.7%), contrasted with traditional therapeutic preparations and healthy foods (29.1%). I have investigated that report to be certain of the result because it is a very important subject for public health and society in Korea. Results : The NITR report has too many problems to have faith in its results. They include the following: 1. The report uses only 55 cases to estimate annual prevalence rate of severe toxic hepatitis in Korea. 2. There was a large regional preponderancy in the NITR report (2 cases in Seoul from a population of 10.17 million, 19 cases in Gwangju from a population of 1.4 million) 3. There was another preponderancy that selected much fewer cases caused by western medication (9.1%) than other reasons. 4. The NITR report used a modified scale than that officially recognized to diagnose toxic hepatitis. 5. There was a mistake using the scale to adapt the right indications. 6. They collected cases before beginning the study, although it was a prospective study. There was also not any questionnaire or other materials concerned with alcohol, drugs, or history of past liver disease. Conclusions : NITR is one of the important official arms of the government of Korea. Nevertheless, there is a severe problem in validity because of selection bias, uncertain accuracy, and insufficiency of raw materials in the report. Therefore it seems incorrect to generalize the results of the report and there is a lack of confidence in it as a national study publishing by the NITR.

  • In recent times, rapid social change has caused an unavoidable need for change in general education. The purpose of this paper is to review a change in the nature of general education through reviewing the Harvard Reports. To this end, we compare and analyze a series of Harvard Reports on General Education. The Harvard Report on General Education has been published in three separate reports: "General Education in a Free Society"(1945), "Report on Core Curriculum"(1978), "Report of the Task Force on General Education"(2007). Firstly, "General Education in a Free Society" enlarges the subject of general education in public and aims to achieve universal general education. Secondly, "Report on Core Curriculum" contributes to the common intellectual foundation. It not only enriches the personal life but also enable to have a conversation related to problems of mankind. Thirdly, "Report of the Task Force on General Education" supports the idea of liberal education as well as problem-solving skills in real life. For instance, general education should concern educating global citizen. A series of the Harvard Report on General Education have shown that today general education should preserve the nature of liberal education as well as reflection of the social context.

  • A new method for making automatic electroencephalogram(EEG) report based on the automatic quantitative interpretation of awake EEG was developed. We first analysed a. relationship between EEG reports and quantitative EEG interpretation done by a qualified electroencephalographer(EEGer) for 22 subjects. Based on the analysed relationship and usual process of report making by the EEGer, we defined all terminology necessary for EEG report and established rules for EEG report making. By the combined use of the proposed EEG report making and the method for automatic quantitative EEG interpretation presented at '90 KACC, we were able to make the automatic EEG reports which were equivalent to the EEG reports written by the EEGer. As all the procedures were programmed in a personal computer equipped with an AD (analogue-to-digital) converter, the automatic EEG reports were obtained in almost real time in usual actual EEG recording situation with only a few seconds time lag for the analysis in the computer. The proposed report making method and the quantitative EEG interpretation method will be effectively applicable to the clinical use as an assistant tool for physicians.

  • When enforcing fire investigation, duty for basic principles, responsibility of investigation, report deadline, and all sorts of standard forms are based on fire investigation report regulation which is internal instructions. This study has a purpose to prepare alternatives that are absent in Korea or have to be strengthened by comparing and examining Japanese and Chinese fire investigation report regulations with Korean one. As a result, it appears that Korea needs to standardize the report deadline of urgency fire and general fire into 30 days when additional investigation is needed, have investigators draw delays reports up when they exceed the deadline not to make work vacuum, and found and organize forms of certificate of custody and return for all fire related materials when investigators require data from fire-related people, to improve whole systems.

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the problem of teachers' narrative reporting of children's science learning in elementary school report cards. For the purposes of this study, a questionnaire, comprised of 6 questions and an analysis tool (Cronbach's $\alpha=.70$) were developed to categorize the answers. The survey was conducted by 53 teachers, who are currently taking 5th ade in elementary school, and the results are as follows: First, they interpreted the same content of report cards in a variety of different ways. Second, they exhibited a number of different principles and criteria in terms of preparing the content of narrative report cards. Third, they experienced difficulties in preparing narrative report cards on science teaming which required explanation of complete processes. Fourth, most teachers surveyed answered that the content of their narrative reports on science learning did not communicate specifically the students' achievement and further studies. Fifth, the activities related to preparing the content of the science learning on narrative reports was widely perceived to be useless for teachers' professional development. Finally, teachers made a number of alternative proposals to overcome the current, perceived problems of teachers' narrative reporting for children's science learning in report cards. Based on the results of this analysis, alternative forms and content of narrative reports on science learning were discussed.

  • Report documents of industrial and occupational accidents have continuously been accumulated in private and public institutes. Amongst others, information on narrative-texts of accidents such as accident processes and risk factors contained in disaster report documents is gaining the useful value for accident analysis. Despite this increasingly potential value of analysis of text information, scientific and algorithmic text analytics for safety management has not been carried out yet. Thus, this study aims to develop data processing and visualization techniques that provide a systematic and structural view of text information contained in a disaster report document so that safety managers can effectively analyze accident risk factors. To this end, the risk factor map using text mining and self-organizing map is developed. Text mining is firstly used to extract risk keywords from disaster report documents and then, the Self-Organizing Map (SOM) algorithm is conducted to visualize the risk factor map based on the similarity of disaster report documents. As a result, it is expected that fruitful text information buried in a myriad of disaster report documents is analyzed, providing risk factors to safety managers.

  • Objective: This study aims to examine the factors associated with teacher intention to report child abuse in child care centers. Methods: Data were collected from teachers at child care centers in the Jeonbuk region, using a self-administered questionnaire. In this study, 186 completed questionnaires were used to analyze the data. Results: The respondents reported their intention to report child abuse as follows: physical abuse(49.5%), emotional abuse(16.1%), sexual abuse(12.9%), and neglect(15.6%). The multiple hierarchical regression analyses revealed that participation at child abuse prevention training programs and awareness of reporting procedures were significantly associated with teacher intention to report child abuse at child care centers in Model 2. Also, attitudes towards reporting child abuse were significantly associated with teacher intention to report child abuse in Model 3. Conclusion/Implications: This study suggests evaluating chid abuse prevention training programs more accurately because the respondents who did not participate in the programs showed statistically significant higher mean scores of intention to report child abuse than who participated(1.83 vs .85). In addition, educational programs about child abuse for teachers in child care centers need to focus on changes in attitudes towards reporting child abuse, which in turn can change behavior.
