Injection molding is one of the most general manufacturing processes of polymers. The deformation of final molded parts occurs because of the change of temperature and pressure during injection molding process. The deformation of injection molded parts depends on many operational conditions, such as, melt temperature, injection speed, mold temperature, packing pressure, and the structure of mold. In the present paper, injection molding experiments were performed to find the process conditions to affect the average shrinkage in thickness direction and the replication ratio of fine patterns on the surface for the final injection-molded LGP samples. As a results, in the cases of PC(Polycarbonate), when the melt temperature was under $285^{\circ}C$, both average shrinkage and replication ratios were mainly influenced by packing pressure. However, the replication ratio was more influenced by melt temperature than packing pressure for the cases of higher melt temperature.
A feasibility study for the fabrication of master replication with nanostructures by Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL) was investigated for application of polymer Photonic Bandgap (PBG) devices used in photonic IC. Large area gratings of $9{\times}15(mm^2)$ with p = 400 nm was successfully embossed on PMMA on silicon wafer and the embossing parameters (temperature, pressure, time) were established. A precise control of $O_2$ plasma Reactive Ion Etching (RIE) process time allowed window opening over the whole area despite the presence of wafer bending. Master replication with aspect ratio 1 was successfully fabricated, but master replication with aspect ratio 3 needs to optimize parameters. All replications were done in a NIL process.
Security is more important in many sensor applications. The node replication attack is a major issue on sensor networks. The replicated node can capture all node details. Node Replication attacks use its secret cryptographic key to successfully produce the networks with clone nodes and also it creates duplicate nodes to build up various attacks. The replication attacks will affect in routing, more energy consumption, packet loss, misbehavior detection, etc. In this paper, a Secure-Efficient Centralized approach is proposed for detecting a Node Replication Attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks for Static Networks. The proposed system easily detects the replication attacks in an effective manner. In this approach Secure Cluster Election is used to prevent from node replication attack and Secure Efficient Centralized Approach is used to detect if any replicated node present in the network. When comparing with the existing approach the detection ratio, energy consumption performs better.
Recently, according to the rapid development of display, many display applications, such as, cellular phone, navigation, monitor and LCD TV have been changed from CRT type to LCD type. BLU(Back Light Unit) is one of main parts in LCD unit and generally, it consists of a light source, a reflective sheet, a LGP(Light Guide Plate), a diffuser sheet, and two prism sheets. The most important component of BLU is a light guide plate, which diffuses the input light to the TFT-LCD module uniformly. The LGP is usually made by injection molding process, and it has numerous optical micro patterns on the surface. In the present study the micro-patterned stamper which has cylindrical shape was fabricated by using the UV-LiGA process. And the replication characteristics have been compared among three different kinds of injection molding process; general injection molding, injection/compression molding and RHCM(Rapid Heating and Cooling Molding). Average replication ratios of CIM and ICM were 19.1% and 64.6%, respectively. On the other hand, the average replication ratio of RHCM process showed the higher value of 98.4% among these. It show that maintaining the mold surface above $T_g$ could increase the replication ratio of micro patterns substantially.
Fresnel lens is a kind of refractive optical lens with various advantages. It has nearly flat shaped optical lens that has small mass. Fresnel lens has number of applications in the compact optical systems. Recently, demands of high quality Fresnel lens for small size optical systems such as illumination units, compact imaging systems, display units, information storage systems, optical detecting units had increased rapidly. Conventional manufacturing process of high quality Fresnel lens is direct machining. However, it is not suitable for mass production because of high cost and long cycle time. Replication method can provide cost effective mass production process. However, there are various issues about replication of Fresnel lens. Fresnel lens has number of sharp blade shape prism. In the replication process, this blade shape causes defects that can affect optical efficiency. In this study, replication processes; injection molding process and UV imprinting process, were developed and evaluated using Fresnel lens that has maximum pattern height of $250\;{\mu}m$ and aspect ratio of 1.5.
It is expected that per-user customized services are widely used in next generation Personal Communication Network. To provide personalized services for each call, per-user service profiles are frequently referenced and signaling traffic is considerably large. Since the service calls are requested from the places where user stays, we can expect that the traffic is localized. In this paper, we propose a new service profile replication scheme, named Follow-Me Replication with local Anchor (FMRA). By replicating user's service profile in a user-specific location area, local anchor of each region, the signaling traffic for call and mobility can be distributed to local network. We compared the performance of the FMRA with two typical schemes: Intelligent Network-based !Central scheme and IMT-2000 based full replication scheme, as we refer it to Follow-Me Replication Unconditional (FMRU). Performance results indicate that FMRA lies between Central and FMRU schemes according to call to mobility ratio, and we identified the efficient ranges of CMR for FMRA depending on the various network parameters.
The present study examines the micro-pattern replication on a plastic film using ultrasonic imprinting. Ultrasonic imprinting uses ultrasonic waves to generate repetitive microscale deformation in the polymer film. The resulting deformation heat on the surface of the film causes the surface region to soften sufficiently so that a replication of the micro-pattern can be obtained. To successfully replicate the micro-pattern on a large area of polymer film, a high replication ratio is needed as well as good uniformity over the entire region. In this study, a horn design is investigated by finite element analysis and is optimized through a response surface analysis. In the ultrasonic imprinting experiments, the response surface method was also used to determine the optimal processing conditions for better replication characteristics.

In this research, we consider the replication strategy for the applications of video streaming in wireless mesh networks (WMNs). In particular, we propose a closed-form of optimal replication densities for a set of frames of a video streaming by exploiting not only the skewed access probability of each frame but also the skewed loss probability and skewed encoding rate-distortion information. The simulation results demonstrate that our method improves the replication performance in terms of user-perceived quality (UPQ) which includes: 1) minimum average maximum reconstructed distortion for high peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR), 2) small reconstructed distortion fluctuation among frames for smooth playback, and 3) reasonable average maximum transmission distance for continuous playback. Furthermore, the proposed strategy consumes smaller storage capacity compared to other existing optimal replication strategies. More importantly, the effect of encoding rate is carefully investigated to show that high encoding rate does not always gain high performance of replication for video streaming.
