  • We propose an Agent-based Fault Tolerant Object Group model based on the agent technology and FTOG model with replication mechanism for effective object management and fault recovery. We define the five kind of agents - internal processing agent, registration agent, state handling agent, user interface agent, and service agent - that extend the functions of the FTOG model. The roles of the agents in the proposed model are to reduce the remote interactions between distributed objects and provide more effective service execution. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, we implemented the Intelligent Home Network Simulator (IHNS) which virtually provides general home networking services. Through the simulations, it is validated that the proposed model decreases the interactions of the object components and supports the effective fault recovery, while providing more stable and reliable services.

  • Group communication is one of key components supporting object replication. CORBA provides little support for fault tolerance and high availability that can be supported by means of object replication. The existing approaches do not allow transparent plug-in of group communication protocols into CORBA with which CORBA application programmers are able to directly exploit group communication protocols. They either require modification of CORBA or OS, or provide no room for incorporating group communication transport protocols into CORBA. In this paper, we propose a generic group communication framework that allows transparent plug-in of various group communication protocols with no modification of standard CORBA. For this, we extend the Open Communications Interface(OCI) to support interoperability, reusability of existing group communication, and independency on ORB and OS. The proposed approach can also be applied to various group communication protocols.

  • Taq DNA polymerase from Thermus aquaticus has been shown to be very useful in the polymerase chain reaction method, which is being used for amplifying DNA. Not only does Taq DNA polymerase have high commercial value commercial value for the polymerase chain reaction application, but it is also important in studying DNA replication, because it is apparently an homologue to E. coli DNA polymerase I, which has long been used for DNA replication study (Lawyer et ai., 1993). The crystal structure determination of Taq DNA polymerase was initiated. An X-ray diffraction pattern breaks down a crystal structure into discrete sine waves in a Fourier series. The original shape of a crystal object in terms of electron density may be represented as the sum of those sine waves with varying amplitudes and phases in three dimensions. The molecular replacement method was initially employed to provide phase information for the structure of Taq DNA polymerase. The rotation search using the program MERLOT resulted in a solution peak with 5.4 r.m.s. PC-refinement of the X-PLOR program verified the result and also optimized the orientation angles. Next, the translation search using the X-PLOR program resulted in a unique solution peak with 7.35 r.m.s. In addition, the translation search indicated $P3_121$ to be the true space group out of two possible ones. The phase information from the molecular replacement was useful in the MIR phasing experiment.

  • There are many methods to enhance the fault tolerance of the CORBA based real time systems by viewpoints. Among them, this paper provides a method to enable seamless services where the systems based on the CORBA have object's faults originated processing real time information. Namely, this paper observes a method to deal efficiently with object's faults happening in 3 tier architecture environments. It is possible to replicate objects as a way to enhance the fault tolerance considering object's faults. Along with it, this paper shows a method to enhance the fault tolerance ultimately and then keep the service continuity by prividing a way to allow to continue to run the systems until the FT-CORBA based one's faults are recovered.

  • A special feature of P2P distributed system isn't always the guarantee of online status for peers. In other words we want to download the file from the peer when we use the P2P system but it sometimes caused this system to fail the download. Many studies to resolve this problem depend on re-transmission method. It caused to lower performance so we have to resolve this problem. In this study, we analysis the average usage time of P2P application user and raise the resource transmission guarantee to apply the selection criteria of resource supplier. Moreover the combinations of distributed object replication techniques, the role to enhance the data transmission opportunity of high popularity resource. will cause this search algorithm to advance.

  • Object : This study was designed to investigate the effects of Chungganhaeju-tang (Qingganjiejiu-tang) on cytotoxicity, growth inhibition, apoptosis and expression of cytokine in damaged HepG2 cells. Method : Toxicity on HepG2 cell induced by ethanol and acetaldehyde was measured for viability, cell growth, DNA replication and generation of apoptosis and cytokine. The recovery of the cell activity by Chungganhaeju-tang was estimated for the measured parameters using PCR with different cycle numbers, DNA gel-electrophoresis, and densitometric analysis, Results : Chungganhaeju-tang improves the recovery of HepG2 cells damaged by ethanol or acetaldehyde. The suppressed DNA synthesis of the cell damaged by ethanol or acetaldehyde is improved by Chungganhaeju-tang. A liver-protection effect was shown by the reduction of apoptosis and $TNF-{\alpha},{\;}IL-1{\beta}$ expressions that are induced by ethanol or acetaldehyde. Conclusion : The result indicates that Chungganhaeju-tang reduces toxicity induced by ethanol or acetaldehyde and recovers damaged liver function.

  • Software copyright are written in text form of documents and stored as files, so it is easy to expose on an illegal copyright. The IOT framework configuration and service environment are also evaluated in software structure and revealed to replication environments. Illegal copyright can be easily created by intelligently modifying the program code in the framework system. This paper deals with similarity comparison to determine the suspicion of illegal copying. In general, original source code should be provided for similarity comparison on both. However, recently, the suspected developer have refused to provide the source code, and comparative evaluation are performed only with executable code. This study dealt with how to analyze the similarity with the execution code and the circuit configuration and interface state of the system without the original source code. In this paper, we propose a method of analyzing the data of the object without source code and verifying the similarity comparison result through evaluation examples.

  • Excessive traffic of P2P applications in the limited communication environment is considered as a network bandwidth problem. Moreover, Though P2P systems search a resource in the phase of search using weakly connected systems(peers' connection to P2P overlay network is very weakly connected), it is not guaranteed to download the very peer's resource in the phase of download. In previous P2P search algorithm (1), we had adopted the heuristic peer selection method based on Random Walks to resolve this problems. In this paper, we suggested an adaptive P2P search algorithm based on the previous algorithm(1) to reform the node distribution rate which is affected in unit peer ability. Also, we have adapted the discriminative replication method based on a query ratio to reduce traffic amount additionally. In the performance estimation result of this suggested system, our system works on a appropriate point of compromise in due consideration of the direction of searching and distribution of traffic occurrence.

  • In this paper we discuss the elements which must be considered for collaboration- aware application design and their effcets on user interfaces. Collaboration-aware applications have inter-user and user/system interaction features besides generic real-time distribution system features and this restricts the design freedom with the requirement of consistent user interfaces. Programmers, therefore, must provide uniform and logically consistent user interfaces to user and, for this end, they should consider main design features such as concurrency control algorithms, system topology and object replication scheme. Among the design factors concurrency control algorithms have relatively significant impact on user interfaces and we consider the impact of concurrency control agorithms along with that of thesystem to pologyand the objectreplication scheme. Coshed/SAS, a groupeditor, is given as an example of application of the factors.
