A Weak Signal Detection Algorithm in Clutter Environment for Indoor Location Estimation based on IR-UWB Radar (IR-UWB 레이더 기반의 실내 위치 추정을 위한 클러터 환경에서 미약신호 검출 알고리즘)

  • Purpose: In this paper, a distance estimation technique for indoor location estimation using IR-UWB is proposed and researched. We propose an algorithm that can increase the SNR lowered due to clutter or noise in an indoor environment. Method: In order to clutter suppression and detect weak signals, we analyze the existing studies of background remover, correlation, and singular vector decomposition techniques and propose an algorithm. Result: The proposed algorithm, the average error was 0.57m up to 11.5m, and the error were 0.49m from 6m to 11.5m. the average error rate was reduced by about 1m compared to the previous study. Conclusion: It can be used as a technique for detecting weak signals in clutter and noise environments for distance or location estimation, and can also be used as a human life detection technique to reduce damage to people in a disaster situation by using UWB radar which has highly transparent.

A High-Speed Dual-Modulus Prescaler Using Selective Latch Technique (Selective Latch Technique을 이용한 고속의 Dual-Modulus Prescaler)

  • This paper describes a high-speed Dual-modulus Prescaler (DMP) for RF mobile communication systems with pulse remover using selective latch technique. This circuit achieves high speed and low power consumption by reducing full speed flip-flops and using a selective latch. The proposed DMP consists of only one full speed flip-flop, a selective latch, conventional flip-flops, and a control gate. In order to ensure the timing of control signal, duty cycle problem and propagation delay must be considered. The failling edgetriggered flip-flops alleviate the duty cycle problem andthis paper shows that the propagation delay of control signal doesn't matter. The maximum operating frequency of the proposed DMP with 0.6um CMOS technology is up to 2.2㎓ at 3.3V power supply and the circuit consumes 5.24mA.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a system for treating industrial wastewater with high carbonaceous and nitrogenous materials. To investigate the potential of using this system, a number of experiments are conducted for about 7 months with the varieties of COD and $NH_3-N$ concentrations, and hydraulic retention time. In the system, 1,500mg/L of COD is remover over 95% in a retention time as low as 9 hours, and the $NH_3-N$ removal efficience is nearly 100% with 90mg/L of $NH_3-N$ in the influent. These results illustrate that the system can effectively be used to treat industrial wastewater containing high concentration of COD and $NH_3-N$.

  • 현재까지 게시판의 비속어 처리프로그램은 비속어를 발견하면 입력을 할 수 없도록 차단하는 차단식 프로그램이었다. 이런 프로그램은 사이버 상의 의사표현의 자유를 차단한다. 또한 어떤 단어의 경우는 비속어가 아닌데도 차단되어 입력을 원천봉쇄하기도 한다. 그래서 비속어를 차단하지 않고 처리해 주며 신생 비속어도 처리를 쉽게 해 주며 검출에 유연성을 제공하는 프로그램이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 데이터베이스 상에서 구현된 게시판을 대상으로 비차단식, 유연성이 있는 비속어 추출 프로그램을 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 820.11n 규격에 적합한 Fractional-N 주파수 합성기를 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 주파수 합성기의 특징은 PFD(Phase Frequency Detector) 뒷단에 잔여 펄스를 제거하는 Pulse Remover를 연결하여 이중 궤환 Charge Pump의 안정도를 향상시켰으며, Charge Pump에서 동시에 발생하는 Up/Down 전류로 인한 Spike성 전류를 없앰으로서 스퓨리어스를 최소화 시켰다. Pulse Removed RFD를 사용함으로서 발생하는 PFD Deadzon문제는 2N+2분주와 2N-2분주기를 3차의 ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ Modulator가 선택해줌으로 해결하였다. 삼성 0.18u 공정을 이용하여 설계 하였으며 각 블록은 Cadence spectre를 이용하여 검증하였다.

A Study on Vocal Separation from Mixtured Music

  • Recently, According to increasing interest to original sound Karaoke instrument, MIDI type karaoke manufacturer attempt to make more cheap method instead of original recoding method. Separating technique for singing voice from music accompaniment is very useful in such equipment. We propose a system to separate singing voice from music accompaniment for stereo recordings. Our system consists of three stages. The first stage is a spectral change detector. The second stage classifies an input into vocal and non vocal portions by using GMM classifier. The last stage is a selective frequency separation stage. The results of removed by listening test from the results for computer based extraction simulation, spectrogram results show separation task successfully. Listening test with extracted MR from proposed system show vocal separating and removal task successfully.

An Open Gradient Magnetic Separator Assembled Using NdFeB Magnets for a Use of Fine Particles Remover

  • A drum type magnetic separator was designed and optimized by computer simulation. The separator consisted of rotating outer shell of drum, magnetic flux generator drum which was assembled with numbers of disk type magnet holders, and drum axis around which the magnet holders were fixed. NdFeB magnet blocks were inserted into the disks, and the disks were assembled layer by layer along the drum axis. Magnetic circuits of the separator were simulated on the basis of highest magnetic strength, least cost, and high yield of separation by using a Vector Field S/W employing the Opera-2D program. The separator proved a separation yield of 95% in removing fine iron-base particles, and installed at Hot Rolling Mill of Pohang Iron & Steel Co. In Korea.

Improvement of ASIFT for Object Matching Based on Optimized Random Sampling

  • This paper proposes an efficient matching algorithm based on ASIFT (Affine Scale-Invariant Feature Transform) which is fully invariant to affine transformation. In our approach, we proposed a method of reducing similar measure matching cost and the number of outliers. First, we combined the Manhattan and Chessboard metrics replacing the Euclidean metric by a linear combination for measuring the similarity of keypoints. These two metrics are simple but really efficient. Using our method the computation time for matching step was saved and also the number of correct matches was increased. By applying an Optimized Random Sampling Algorithm (ORSA), we can remove most of the outlier matches to make the result meaningful. This method was experimented on various combinations of affine transform. The experimental result shows that our method is superior to SIFT and ASIFT.

Report on cases of misleading advertisements in the Korean oral hygiene products market (국내 구강위생용품 시장의 일부 허위·과장광고 실태 보고)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of exaggerated advertisements in the Korean oral hygiene product market and to urge dental hygienists to play the role of experts. The exaggerated advertisements on the largest online shopping platform in Korea were investigated. Searches were performed with keywords related to oral hygiene, such as "bad breath" and "tartar", and product names of 1,000 products listed at the top were investigated to select the suspicious ones. The situation was found to be grave; for example, a mouthwash capable of preventing coronavirus disease, which lacks scientific evidence, and a self-tartar remover that did not guarantee safety or performance were being sold. Strict government supervision is required, and dental hygienists must be urged to play an active role as oral health experts.
