Estimation of surface reflectance properties and 3D shape recovery using photometric matching (물체의 면 반사특성 추정과 측광정합을 이용한 3차원 형상복구)

  • In this paper we propose a new method for anlayzing the properties of surface reflectance and reconstructing the shape of object using estimated reflectance parameters. We have investigated the hybrid reflectance surface which has specularreflection and diffuse reflection, which can be explained by Torrance-Sparrow model. Sample sphere made on one maerial is used to estimate the reflectance properties by using LMS algorithm. We can make the reference image which consists of surface normal and brightness value using estimated reflectance parameters, and thenarbitrary shape object made of the same material as sample can be reconstructed by matching with reference image. Photometric matching method proposed in this paper is robust because it mateches object image with the reference imageconsidering its neighbor brightness distribution. Also, in this paper plate diffuse illumination is used to remove intensity disparity with simple scheme. It is expected that the proposed algorithm can be applied to 3D recognition, vision inspection system and other fields.

  • Electrical tree is studied widely by manufacture state of insulating material fare and blazing fire diagnosis system of use in phenomenon of part discharge that happen for main cause of dielectric breakdown of equipment for electric power. Use process that draw tree pattern here measuring above zero to study special quality of this electricity tree, real-time processing by image processing is proposed because reproduction of tree blazing fire process drops and pattern of tree is difficult correct quantification of tree growth by existent visual observation by involution. This research presents general process that need in image processing of tree blazing fire, and that remove various noises that happen in above zero by measuring electrical tree dividing background and complete view in measured above zero taking advantage of specially proposed complete view object abstraction techniques effectively and quantification of tree becomes easy naturally, can apply to dielectric breakdown estimate because can chase growth process of tree.

Development of 3D Scanner Based on Laser Structured-light Image (레이저 구조광 영상기반 3차원 스캐너 개발)

  • This paper addresses the development of 3D data acquisition system (3D scanner) based laser structured-light image. The 3D scanner consists of a stripe laser generator, a conventional camera, and a rotation table. The stripe laser onto an object has distortion according to 3D shape of an object. By analyzing the distortion of the laser stripe in a camera image, the scanner obtains a group of 3D point data of the object. A simple semiconductor stripe laser diode is adopted instead of an expensive LCD projector for complex structured-light pattern. The camera has an optical filter to remove illumination noise and improve the performance of the distance measurement. Experimental results show the 3D data acquisition performance of the scanner with less than 0.2mm measurement error in 2 minutes. It is possible to reconstruct a 3D shape of an object and to reproduce the object by a commercially available 3D printer.

  • Object tracking in a real time image is one of interesting subjects in computer vision and many Practical application fields during the past couple of years. But sometimes existing systems cannot find all objects by recognizing background noise as object. This paper proposes a method of object detection and tracking using adaptive background image in real time. To detect object which is not influenced by illumination and to remove noise in background image, this system generates adaptive background image by real time background image updating. This system detects object using the difference between background image and input image from camera. After setting up Minimum Bounding Rectangle(MBR) using the internal point of detected object, the system tracks object through this MBR In addition, this paper evaluates the test result about performance of proposed method as compared with existing tracking algorithm.

  • Java specification states that all accesses to an object must be checked at runtime if object refers to null. Since Java is an object-oriented language, object accesses are frequent enough to make null pointer checks affect the performance significantly. In order to reduce the performance degradation, there have been attempts to remove redundant null pointer checks. For example, in a Java environment where a just-in-time (JIT) compiler is used, the JIT compiler removes redundant null pointer check code via code analysis. This paper proposes a technique to remove additional null pointer check code that could not be removed by previous JIT compilation techniques, via early null pointer check using an architectural feature called predication. Generally, null point check code consists of two instructions: a compare and a branch. Our idea is moving the compare instruction that is usually located just before an use of an object, to the point right after the object is defined so that the total number of compare instructions is reduced. This results in reduction of dynamic and static compare instructions by 3.21$\%$ and 1.98$\%$. respectively, in SPECjvm98 bechmarks, compared to the code that has already been optimized by previous null pointer check elimination techniques. Its performance impact on an Itanium machine is an improvement of 0.32$\%$.

  • In this paper, we propose a detection method of reduced computational complexity aimed at separating the moving objects from the background in a generic video sequence. In generally, indoor environments, it is difficult to accurately detect the object because environmental factors, such as lighting changes, shadows, reflections on the floor. First, the background image to detect an object is created. If an object exists in video, on a previously created background images for similarity comparison between the current input image and to detect objects through several operations to generate a mixture image. Mixed-use video and video inputs to detect objects. To complement the objects detected through the labeling process to remove noise components and then apply the technique of morphology complements the object area. Environment variable such as, lighting changes and shadows, to the strength of the object is detected. In this paper, we proposed that environmental factors, such as lighting changes, shadows, reflections on the floor, including the system uses mixture images. Therefore, the existing system more effectively than the object region is detected.

  • This paper is proposed the wavelet morphology algorithm with the spatial auto-object segmentation concept and the clustering concept. When it is segmented the color face by using the proposed algorithm, it is made to the simple image. Also, it is used the spatial quality in order to segment and detect the image as a real time without the user's manufacturing. This removed a small part that is regarded as a noise in image by HSV color model and applied the wavelet morphology to remove a part excepting for the face image. In this paper, it is made a comparison between the wavelet morphology algorithm and the morphology algorithm. And It is showed to accurately detect the face object parts in the image appled to HSV color space model.

  • This paper is used the color space distribution HMMD model presented in MPEG-7 in order to segment and detect the wanted image parts as a real time without the user's manufacturing in the video object segmentation. Here, it is applied the wavelet morphology to remove a small part that is regarded as a noise in image and a part excepting for the face image. Also, it did the optimal composition by the rough set. In this paper, tile proposed video object detection algorithm is confirmed to be superior as detecting the face object exactly than the conventional algorithm by applying those to the different size images.put the of paper here.

Suspectible Object Detection Method for Radiographic Images (방사선 검색기 영상 내의 의심 물체 탐지 방법)

  • This paper presents a method to extract objects in radiographic images where all the allowable combinations of segmented regions are compared to a target object using Fourier descriptor. In the object extraction for usual images, a main problem is occlusion. In radiographic images, there is an advantage that the shape of an object is not occluded by other objects. It is because radiographic images represent the amount of radiation penetrated through objects. Considering the property of no occlusion in radiographic images, the shape based descriptors can be very effective to find objects. After all, the proposed object extraction method consists of three steps of segmenting regions, finding all the combinations of the segmented regions, and matching the combinations to the shape of the target object. In finding the combinations, we reduce a lot of computations to remove unnecessary combinations before matching. In matching, we employ Fourier descriptor so that the proposed method is rotation and shift invariant. Additionally, shape normalization is adopted to be scale invariant. By experiments, we verify that the proposed method works well in extracting objects.
