A Study on Remote Control of Multi DNC Network (Multi DNC Network의 구축에 관한 연구)

  • The present so many systems are used by evolution of Program to expel DNC(Direct Numerical Control) Network Infra for many CNC Controller. However, these systems is an inefficiency side in case of mutual connection at a long distance between Server Computer and Machining center Also, the machining center have so many controversial points in data transmission-receiver from the NC data server. So, this thesis well constructed the remote control system from CNC(Computer Numerical Control) Controller to CAD/CAM Server Computer. This system have some kinds of merits. Firstly. the machining center's user can easily use the saved NC data transmission from the CAD/CAM Server Secondly, the remote control is possible without the mutual conversation between the CAD/CAM Server and the machining center.

Development of a Simulator for a Mobile Robot Based on iPhone (아이폰 기반의 이동로봇 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • This study presents the remote control of a mobile robot using iPhone based on ad hoc communication. Two control interfaces are proposed to control a mobile robot using iPhone : Remote control by a user and autonomous control. To evaluate the effectiveness of algorithms for trajectory following, a simulator are developed where a virtual robot follows a referenced trajectory in a monitor by iPhone interface. In the proposed simulator, some algorithms are tested how they work well or not for trajectory following of a mobile robot. Comparative results by remote user control and autonomous control are shown. Results of an experiment show that the proposed simulator can be effectively used for testing the effectiveness of autonomous tracking algorithms.

  • PLC (Power Line Communication) is the communication method using the existing power line installed in houses and offices to convert and transmit high frequency communication signal from tens of KHz to tens of MHz, and receive the filtered signal using high frequency filter. The advantage of PLC is that PLC uses the existing power line installed in houses and offices so it does not require separate power line. Easy and convenient access using electric outlets is another advantage of PLC. However, PLC has some disadvantages such as limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, characteristic of impedance selective possibility of frequency property. This study designed the boiler temperature control system by unit using the modem designed on the basis of technology used for PLC modem, and designed remote control system using internet. After conducting experiments with those two systems, it was possible to control stably. By commercializing this product, we can avoid unnecessary heating of separate temperature control unit, and save the cost according1y, and it is possible to control on a remote site using internet in a more convenient way.

  • When we design the control system used Programmable Logic controller(PLC), if we program a Sequential Function Chart(SFC), It is easy to understand the sequential flow of control, to maintenance the controller and to describe a program. SFC language is programmed by a single sequence, a select sequence and a parallel sequence. In a select sequence, when the select step is error, the whole process is stopped. If the error step has no connection the whole process, the loss is down when we debugging the program without stopping the whole process. Therefore, this thesis shows the efficient method of remote control for select sequence and we confirmed its feasibility through actual example.

  • Recent advances in low-cost remote monitoring systems have made it possible and practical to perform structural health monitoring (SHM) on a large scale. However, it is difficult for a single remote monitoring system to cover a wide range of SHM applications due to the amount of specialization required. For the remote monitoring system to be flexible, sustainable, and robust, this article introduces a new cost-effective, advanced remote monitoring and inspection system named DuraMote that can serve as a next generation supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system for civil infrastructure systems. To evaluate the performance of DuraMote, we conduct experiments at two representative counterpart sites: a bridge and water pipelines. The objectives of this article are to improve upon the existing SCADA by integrating the remote monitoring system (i.e., DuraMote), to describe a prototype SCADA for civil engineering structures, and to validate its effectiveness with long-term field deployment results.

  • The power plants have a loading dock and unloading device for the diverse kinds of fuel such as the bituminous coal and natural gas imported by the sea from all over the world. To unload the coal in the ship not only in the environment-friendly manner but also in the cost-effective way, the new type of heavy equipment loaded with additional features as well as excavator and the remote controller to maneuver this equipment are developed. This heavy equipment, which can be used to unload the coal in the ship in conjunction with CSU (Continuous Ship Unloader), and the remote controller are endorsed by the related code and laws. With the remote controller, the field workers can operate the unloading equipment at the remote place far from the equipment as well as in the cabin for themselves without tile remote controller.

  • A new method, called dynamic space projection method that is suitable to remote sensing image, is adopted to encrypt GCP (ground control point) datum in this paper. The essence of this method is to encrypt enough GCP by using a few known GCP in order to realize the precise correction of remote sensing image. By making use of the method to the GCP datum encrypting and precise geometric correction of TM image and SPOT image, the precision of encrypted GCP is less than one pixel, the precision of precisely corrected image is less than two pixels.

  • This paper aims at developing remote control system to control and monitor distribute various devices through internet or information communication network. So far for managing UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) serial communication system has been used. This paper proposes managing method of UPS monitoring using SNMP. It consists of SNMP agent network board SNMP manager PC software serial communication software and UPS. The proposed method can be applied to various devices with communication network remotely.

Experimental study on practical automatic snowplows

  • In this study, control technique of two types of automatic snowplow was experimentally investigated. One is a remote-controlled snowplow used for removing snow around houses, and the other is an autonomous snowplow for use in wide, open spaces such as a parking lot of a large-scale retail store. A commercially available snowplow was modified to enable remote control by the use of a personal handy-phone system. The autonomous controller utilizes a vision sensor that consists of a CCD video camera and a computer for image processing. In addition, design of a practical landmark was examined.

  • This paper presents the design of a prototype robot and architecture of a distributed control system. The robot, named as KAEROT, has been developed for the purpose of the reduction of personal radiation exposure and the remote maintenance tasks in nuclear facilities. The mobile system with robotic manipulator has been designed to go up and down stairs. For the dextrous handling, this manipulator will be designed as a redundant type to act like a human arm. Manipulator control system is to be extended easily for further usage with a modular architecture to get independency and reliability by minimizing EMI effects.
