  • Internet service has widely used in office automation such as, manufacturing management purchase, and material resource. Nowadays, factory automation and shop floor control system including CAD/CAM department need a web based monitoring and diagnosis to achieve global collaboration and tole-service. This raper deal with design of web based remote monitoring and diagnosis system which concerned with open architecture controller for machine tool.

통합 전관 방송 시스템의 효율적인 중앙 집중 제어를 위한 운용 MICOM 개발 (Development of an Operational MICOM for efficient Central Control of Public Address System)

  • 외부 입력, 마이크, CD와 MP3 및 라디오 기능 등을 일체형으로 통합하고 소형화한 전관 방송 시스템을 개발하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 개발중인 시스템이 중앙 집중 제어가 가능하도록 운용 MICOM을 개발한다. 중앙 집중 제어를 수행하기 위해 운용 MICOM은 제어 계층, 처리 계층 및 사용자 인터페이스 계층인 3계층으로 구성된다. 제어 계층은 각종 기기들을 제어하고, 처리 계층은 음성, 소리 데이터 편집 및 기기의 제어 신호 및 상태 정보를 처리한다. 그리고 사용자 인터페이스 계층에서는 사용자가 기기 제어 및 데이터 처리를 효율적으로 할 수 있도록 도와주는 계층이다. 중앙 집중 제어는 원격 조종 장치(remote control)를 통해서 이루어진다.

  • 원격지에 위치한 분산제어 시스템과 센서 데이터 또는 제어 명령을 주고받을 때에는 불확실한 시간지연이 발생한다. TCP/IP 프로토콜을 이용한 데이터 네트워크와 마찬가지로 데이터 네트워크와 디바이스 네트워크를 결합한 가상 디자이스 네트워크도 불확실한 시간지연이 내재되어 있다. 이러한 시간지연은 분산제어시스템의 성능을 저하시키고 불안전성을 야기하는 원인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 네트워크상에 내재하는 시간지연을 평가하고 부정적인 효과를 최소화하기 위하여 Smith Predictor를 적용하였다. 제안된 제어 알고리즘은 실시간 서보제어를 통하여 효과를 입증하였으며 가상 디바이스 네트워크 개념에 근거한 분산제어 시스템을 이용하여 실시간 예지보전을 수행할 때 효과가 있음을 제시하였다.

Investigation of the Different Control Approaches for a Remote Sensing Satellite Attitude Control

  • A nonlinear attitude model of a satellite with thrusters, magnetic torquers and a reaction wheel cluster is developed. Then the linearized version of this satellite attitude model is derived far the attitude hold mode. For comparison purpose, various control methods are considered for attitude control of a satellite. We consider a proportional derivative controller which is actually used in the remote sensing satellite, KOMPSAT. Then a comparison is made with an H$_2$controller, an H$\sub$$\infty$/ controller, and a mixed H$_2$/ H$\sub$$\infty$/ controller. The analysis and numerical studies show that the proportional derivative controller's performance is limited in the sense that the pitch angle cannot approach zero. The simulations also show that among three control methods (H$_2$control, H$\sub$$\infty$/ control, and mixed H$_2$/ H$\sub$$\infty$/ control) H$_2$control has the fastest response time, H$\sub$$\infty$/ control has the slowest and mixed H$_2$/ H$\sub$$\infty$/ control comes in between the first two control methods. On the other hand, H$\sub$$\infty$/ control used least amount of control effort while H$_2$control required the most.

Long term monitoring of a cable stayed bridge using DuraMote

  • DuraMote is a remote sensing system developed for the "NIST TIP project: next generation SCADA for prevention and mitigation of water system infrastructure disaster". It is designed for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) of ruptures in water pipes. Micro-electro mechanical (MEMS) accelerometers, which record the vibration of the pipe wall, are used detect the ruptures. However, the performance of Duramote cannot be verified directly on a water distribution system because it lacks an acceptable recordable level of ambient vibration. Instead, a long-span cable-stayed bridge is an ideal test-bed to validate the accuracy, the reliability, and the robustness of DuraMote because the bridge has an acceptable level of ambient vibration. The acceleration data recorded on the bridge were used to identify the modal properties of the structure and to verify the performance of DuraMote. During the test period, the bridge was subjected to heavy rain, wind, and a typhoon but the system demonstrates its robustness and durability.

  • A remote monitoring system was developed to improve inconveniences of manual work such as monitoring street lights by using current sensors, microprocessor and RF communication system. In order to control the street lights on the roads effectively and monitor them in real time, we can attach current sensor to the street lights which monitors Lamp, the broken part and state of the Balast, and the amount of an electric leak precisely we developed a system which makes it possible to transmit the data on monitoring results in breakdown of street lights and Balasts to the central monitoring computer without setting up extra data transmission line. The system we devised can transmit data through Power Line Modem and RF communication using relay method to the central controlling computer without any loss of data.

  • In this paper, we have studied for development of unmanned remote supervisory system using mobile communication network, not wire network, not to be affected by space or distance. The unmanned remote supervisory system consists of data processing unit main part and measuring systems (modules part)-temperature measuring module, humidity measuring module and human body sensing module. The data processing unit to collect and process informations of each measuring module has the functions of data communication between a mobile cellular telephone and measuring systems. Each measuring module has supervisory and warning functions for a target of supervision. And then we have designed each system and evaluated accuracy and reliability of the combined total system.

  • The new MOV(motor-operated valve) diagnostic system MOVIDS(MOV intelligent diagnostic system) was developed. Its remote diagnostic methods with high accuracy have improved the applicability. This enables the diagnostic tests and the evaluations of many MOVs not only at the valves but also in remote places like MCCs(motor control centers). The remote diagnostic ability of the new system reduces the cost and the man power for diagnosing MOVs and eliminates the danger of the toxic or radioactive environments to which workers might be exposed.

  • Uninterruptible power supplies are extensively used as backup power in various applications such as telecommunication systems, Internet data centers, hospitals, and military technologies. Some of these applications require a considerable number of batteries, and the maintenance of such batteries is critical for the reliability of a system. However, batteries are chemical energy storage devices that deteriorate over time and frequently inspecting their performance and suitability is difficult. A real-time remote battery inspection system that applies electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is proposed and implemented in this study. The proposed system consists of a small inspection circuit and software for control. The former is developed to monitor the impedance variation of the battery and to diagnose its state. The validity and feasibility of the proposed system is proven by experimental results.

  • In recent years, it has been a worldwide trend that many power utilities gave their attention to develop and operate their power plants, substation and distribution systems. Following this trend, KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) has developed many electric automation systems with various communication networks. It has been natural that the automation systems are just focused on to remote devices when they come to be designed. But, we have to shirt the focus to the automation system itself. There are many problems in maintenance and integration of the automation systems. When an automation system can't control some remote devices, there is no way to get why and which part(Master, Network, Master-side Modem or Remote-side modem, Remote Device, etc.) of the system has problems. Moreover the system just directly links to another automation system. If the system has to link many systems, it needs the linker per each systems. So, we need a new concept to resolve that problems, and develop the Intelligent and Integrated Gateway(IIG) for the automation systems for easy maintenance and integration.
