Wastewater treatment processes are usually located in the outskirts of cities. But these processes should be dealt with continuous maintenance by expert operators. Therefore, in this paper, unmaned and automated control system is designed for the SBR(Sequencing Batch Reactor) plant. This plant is constructed in Gimhae city. Networks and wireless modules are employed for the data transmission. A local controller is in the SBR plant as a client and a monitoring system is located in the other place as a server. Remote control and monitoring system are constructed at the laboratory of ours. Measured data from plant sensors are translated to the remote site using communication modules, and then the data could be displayed and analyzed by means of remote monitoring and control systems.
A high-voltage motor has had many problems due to its frequent startup, standstills and occasions of long period operation. As for a solution to the problem, many advanced countries have developed an on-line insulation diagnosis sensor and a same type of system and put them in use. Recently, even in the domestic market, a ceramic coupler has been developed and attempted to be applied in the field. This paper proposes an on-line insulation diagnosis system when operating a high-voltage motor along with the use of a domestic ceramic coupler. The proposed system is composed with a ceramic sensor, a PDMS-HM, and a Remote Monitoring System. As the result of comparing this system with a PDAS, which is an expensive full A/D method, the reliability of the system has been verified, and furthermore, it is in the process of being commercialized.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to present several proposals for future pulse diagnosis practice and research by investigating the trend of pulse diagnosis studies in Korea. Methods: We searched online medical databases, including National Discovery for Science Leaders (NDSL), the Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS), the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS), and the Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal (KTKP), for pulse diagnosis articles in Korea. We selected articles on pulse diagnosis but excluded duplicate articles, articles irrelevant to pulse diagnosis, and articles published in foreign countries. Results: In the first screening, 801 articles were selected. We found 251 articles and classified them according to category. The medical engineering field had 148 articles. A total of 24 articles were related to algorithms for pulse wave detection, 34 to sensors, five to pressurization technology, 16 to systems, 11 to remote medical service, five to mobiles, nine to trends, and 44 to basic research. The Korean medicine field had 103 articles. A total of 41 articles were devoted to literature reviews, 20 to case reports, 11 to constitutional medicine, six to experimental studies, and 25 to relevant research. Conclusion: More efforts to practice pulse diagnosis for various diseases should be made and the results actively published.
DR (Digital Radiography) system will be the best candidate for next generation x-ray diagnosis system. DR system will replace x-ray film by computer monitor and provide various merits like reduced processing time, easy recording, remote diagnosis and etc. In this paper, we propose the pre-processing algorithm which is designed to compensate dead and defected pixel for x-ray detector panel. We also designed DSP(Digital Signal Processor) based DR image processing board for real-time processing of suggested algorithm.
River facilities and port structures require a regular inspection and diagnosis due to obsolescence. Currently, most river facilities are undergoing indirect inspection and diagnosis by divers. The underwater inspections are not feasible due to safety issues of divers and restrictions on working hours and environment. To overcome these issues, it is intended to conduct inspections of river facilities using underwater drones. In this research, an underwater ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) has been developed, which is a kind of drone with propellers. As a key device of this research, an injection device has been attached to the underwater drone to conduct an operation test, a stable operation test of an underwater drone, and a test of attached sensors. The river facility inspection can be carried out optimally using the hovering control of the drone and injection systems. With the developed ROV system, hovering test and injection test have been performed to verify the feasibility of this development.
Piping systems play an important role in gas and oil transferring system. In the piping system, there are many elements, such as valves and flow meters. In order to check their normal operating conditions, each signal from each element is displayed on the monitor in the pipe control room. By the way, there are several accidental cases in the piping system even if all signals from the local elements are judged to be normal on the monitor in the control room. Further, opposite cases often happen even the monitor shows abnormal while the local elements work normal. To overcome this abnormal functions, it is not so easy to construct the environment in which sensors detecting the working states of all elements installed in the piping system. In this paper, a new non-contact measurement technique which can calculate the elements' delicate displacements by using a PIV(particle image velocimetry) and diagnose their working states by using a neural network is proposed. The measurement system consists of a host computer, a micro system, a telescope and a high-resolution camera. As a preliminary test, the constructed measurement system was applied to measure delicate vibrations of mobile phones. For practical application, a pneumatic system was measured by the constructed system.
In this paper, we described the integrated monitoring system for low-voltage panel boards. This system consists of three parts, a panel board controller, an integrated monitoring unit and a remote PC. The panel board controller which was made of CT/PT unit, control unit and power supply is able to transmit variable parameter for monitoring and diagnosis of low voltage branch circuits. Also, the integrated monitoring unit was collected monitoring data from panel boards and displayed on the touch panel.
This study is for implementation of PC based Motor fault diagnosis system. By using harmonics and current signals of the motor, this system diagnoses the motor condition by accumulated harmonic contribution rate. In this proposed system that was composed of 5 parts. A sensor, connection box, evaluation board, device server, and main computer are those. There were two types of sensor, one was harmonic sensor the other was current sensors. The signal was acquired by sensor, and transferred to evaluation board. Second one is connection box. Because the output type of sensor and input type of evaluation board is different, connection box was necessary. Third one was evaluation board. The signal from the sensor was converted to digital signal in evaluation board. And this signal was transferred to device server. Fourth one was device server. Device server transferred the data from evaluation board to main computer. And the last one was other parts controlled by main computer. In main computer, there were communication and diagnosis algorithms. The result was derived by main computer. In the result, there were 12 categories and 5 levels of motor conditions. The proposed system had some advantages comparing with stand alone type commercial motor fault diagnosis system. The first, by using remote access it was easier to get the conditions of motor. The second, there was no need to handle the sensors when users measured the motor signals. By this property, no one was necessary at motor location site. The third, this system was less restricted by times and places than commercial stand alone type diagnosis system. Therefore users can operate this system only using the main computer. Once the sensors are installed at the motor, users doesn't need to move to check up the condition of motors. Moreover, if there is ethernet hub, many motors can be not only diagnosed at once but also decreased its cost.
