  • In spreading an internet service and developing a network technology, The interest of study about the remote control system using web environment increased. In treatise, We describe a design and an implementation of the gateway system that is based 3-tier model using corba in middleware. This system is applicatble various system environment because of using middleware and overcome a time limit and range limit because of using web browser interface.

  • This paper proposes a novel resource allocation scheme which allows to guarantee the user-perceived service quality for various high-quality mobile multimedia service such as interactive game, tactile internet service, remote emergency medical service or remote disaster handling robot control to a certain level in the mobile networks. In our proposed scheme, Mean Opinion Score(MOS), which represents the degree of user satisfaction for perceived quality, is determined based on the delay limit allowable to each service. Moreover resources are allocated in consideration of this MOS. Simulation results show that our proposed scheme can decrease the outage probability in comparison with existing schemes Moreover it can increase the total throughput as well.

  • G-Sensor is being used for controlling motion of smart-phone and robot. G-Sensor can control motion to several direction, because it is composed of X, Y, and Z axis and also can be used on many mobile-phone by using Wi-Fi communication and RS-232C communication on the Bluetooth module. In this research, we suggest the application that realize and develop visual-vehicle-remote-control-system by using mobile-phone with G-Sensor so that drivers can more easily remote control and manage their vehicle with mobile-phone in real-time visual.

  • Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, companies and institutions are introducing virtual desktop technology, one of the logical network separation technologies, to establish a safe working environment in a situation where remote work is provided. With the introduction of virtual desktop technology, companies and institutions can operate the network separation environment more safely and effectively, and can access the business network quickly and safely to increase work efficiency and productivity. However, when introducing virtual desktop technology, there is a cost problem of high-spec server, storage, and license, and it is necessary to supplement in terms of operation and management. As a countermeasure to this, companies and institutions are shifting to cloud computing-based technology, virtual desktop service (DaaS, Desktop as a Service). However, in the virtual desktop service, which is a cloud computing-based technology, the shared responsibility model is responsible for user access control and data security. In this paper, based on the shared responsibility model in the virtual desktop service environment, we propose a cloud-based hardware security module (Cloud HSM) and edge-DRM proxy as an improvement method for user access control and data security.

  • International Standard Organizations such as ITU(International Telecommunication Union) and IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) are proceeding standardization for various applications and protocols to provide video-conference and multimedia conference services on a variety of networks. Remote device control among these protocols is provided with various capabilities as well as device control to multimedia conference. This protocol for remote device control is standardizing as H.282 recommendation which is specified as core service for the configuration and control of remote device to multimedia conference. The H.282 recommendation does not specify the use of a particular transport protocol. That is, T.120 multimedia conference uses T.136 and H.323 video conference uses H.283 for the transport of H.282 protocol. The introduced system in this paper is based on H.282 and is implemented to be capable of remote device control within the framework of H.323 using H.283. Also, it is shown that a variety of services in the specification of the standard are satisfied through experiments.

  • The demand of remote control and monitoring for efficiency and applications of LED streetlight is increasing continuously because the demand of LED streetlight was increase last few years. Existing street light remote control system is wired using a power line network. The wireless connection exists, but due to its low data transmission rate, it cannot support specialized applications. It can only support simple control and monitoring. In this paper, we propose a system that uses a IEEE 802.11s wireless mesh network based on WLAN, as a backbone network for remote control and monitoring of the LED street lights along with other specialized applications. Using the wireless mesh network for remote control and monitoring the LED street lights, the same can be used to act like a public Wi-Fi access point. We have designed Wi-Fi integrated LED streetlight controller and implemented our system. We evaluated the performance of our system on a real test bed. Our proposed system is expected to perform the role of a U-city infrastructure by utilizing the wireless mesh network.

  • In this paper, we study the robot controller design using the voice and data communication via CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) mobile communication network. We design the robot remote controller using the three methods, telephone call speech recognition, DTMF (Dual Tone Multiple Frequency) realization, SMS(Short Message Service) transmission/reception way via CDMA mobile communication network. We investigate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed remote controller which applied to the mobile robot.

  • The growth of computer resource and network speed has increased requests for the use of remotely located computer systems by connecting through computer networks. This phenomenon has hoisted research activities for application service provision that uses server-based remote computing paradigm. The server-based remote computing paradigm has been developed as the ASP (Application Service Provision) model, which provides remote users through application sharing protocol to application programs. Security requirement such as confidentiality, availability, integrity should be satisfied to provide ASP service using centralized computing system. Existing Telnet or FTP service for a remote computing systems have satisfied security requirement by a simple access control to files and/or data. But windows-based centralized computing system is vulnerable to confidentiality, availability, integrity where many users use the same application program installed in the same computer. In other words, the computing system needs detailed security level for each user different from others, such that only authorized user or group of users can run some specific functional commands for the program. In this paper, we propose windows based centralized computing system that sets security policies for each user for the use of instructions of the application programs, and performs access control to the instructions based on the security policies. The system monitors all user messages which are executed through graphical user interface by the users connecting to the system. Ail Instructions, i.e. messages, for the application program are now passed to authorization process that decides if an Instruction is delivered to the application program based on the pre-defined security polices. This system can be used as security clearance for each user for the shared computing resource as well as shared application programs.

  • PSTN (public switched telephone network) provides voice communication service, whereas IP network provides data oriented service, and we can use IP network for multimedia transport service (e.g. voice over IP service) with economic price. In this paper, we propose RoIP (robot on IP) service scenario, signaling call flow, and implementation to provide home automation and monitoring service for remote site users. In our scheme, we used a extended SIP (session initiation protocol) for signaling protocol between remote site users and home robots. For our bearer transport control, we implemented H.263 video codec over RTP (real-time transport protocol) and additionally DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency) transport for robot actuator control. We implemented our scheme on home robots and experimented with KTF operator network, and it shows good communication quality (average MOS = 9.15) and flexible robot controls.

Web Based Smart Home Automation Control System Design

  • The development of technology provides and increases security as well as convenience for humans. The development of new technology directly affects the standard of life thanks to smart home automatic control systems. This paper describes a door control, automatic curtain, home security (CCTV, fire, gas, safe, etc.), home control (energy, light, ventilation, etc.) and web-based smart home automatic controller. It also describes the use of ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) for automatic control of home equipment, a Multi-Axes Servo Controller using FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and PLC (programmable logic controller). Additionally, it describes the development of a HTML editor using web auto control software. The tab loading time (7 seconds) is faster when using ARM-based web browser software instead of Chrome and Firefox is used because the browser has a small memory footprint (300M). This system is realized by web auto controller language which controls and uses PLCs that are easier than existing devices. This smart home automatic control technology can control smart home equipment anywhere and anytime and provides a remote interface through mobile equipment.
