The study is based on a two-year research study titled 'A study on the Development of the Programs for Housing Policy to support Multi-family Housing Remodeling in Korea'. The primary purpose of this two-year study was to recommend governmental program initiatives for supporting multi-family housing remodeling activities in Korea. As a part of this research study, this article was written based on the results from the two surveys regarding multi-family housing remodeling in the United States and Korea, and a focus group with housing researchers affiliated to the Joint Center for Housing Studies. Major research findings are presented as follows: First, there have been various types of supportive programs for single- and multi-family housing remodeling in the United States. Those have focused on lower income families than middle income families. Compared with the programs in the United States, the apartment remodeling in Korea has been focusing on small population of the multi-family housing owners. Apartment remodeling in Korea needs supportive programs for rental housing remodeling and the housing remodeling for low-incomes. Second, there have been various types of remodeling activities made in multi-family housing properties in the United States. Size of remodeling project also varied. Their remodeling activities were based on the long-term repairing plans initiated by professional apartment management groups. For making our multi-family housing properties more sustainable, we also need to have the long-term repairing plans. Third, the apartment property remodeling has been regarded as a substitute of reconstruction of apartment properties. However, remodeling should be regarded as one of the most efficient ways to extend the life-cycle of apartment buildings. Thus, benefits and executive plans of apartment remodeling should be studied by a professional research center under our governmental responsibilities as done in the United States.
Recently, the recognition is changing about cultural heritage, and the various types of buildings or facilities of modern or contemporary times have been designated as cultural properties after that Registered Cultural Properties System is enforced. The purpose of this study is to survey how the newly born the historic buildings of modern or contemporary times through the remodeling process of the Studio 'Byeol'(the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music) in the National Theater of Korea so-called a microcosm of performing arts history. In the process, it will examine the merits and demerits of various alternatives and the direction of the remodeling etc., and propose an utilization as a basic data of post evaluation for the remodeling of a historic building. The result are as followings. Firstly, the remodeling that gave a new physical properties to a building can be used a method of conservation and reuse on a historic building. The remodeling of a historic building must be eclectically progress between the owner and the citizen or the economic value and the historicity conservation. And, the remodeling of historic buildings such as the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music must consider the conservation of the exterior walls in whole or in part at least. Secondly, an architect Lee Hee Tae(李喜泰) who had been to develop his own architectural vocabulary and to test based on the korean traditional architecture and the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music must be newly evaluated today. Lastly, the remodeling alternatives of the Training Center for Performers of Korean Traditional Music have been analyzed with three types, which is 'repairing only the interior which maintains the size and an appearance of present', 'extending the outer wall to the external column line', 'extending the basement'. And, it was analyzed with the appropriate final decision that it remodels only the interior in the current situation because of a historicity, a budget, a relevant law etc.
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport(MOLIT) has increased reduction rate from 18.1% to 32.7% in Building sector compared to BAU of the national greenhouse gas emission according to the 2030 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Road map Amendment. For this purpose, MOLIT has been activating the green remodeling projects for existing buildings. Considering that 15 year old buildings after completion are 74% (5.25 million buildings) among about 7 million existing building stocks in Korea, reduction of building energy consumption by green remodeling is urgently needed, However, it is a major difficulty of activation for green remodeling projects because there are few case studies on Before and After building energy consumption of actual green remodeling projects. Considering that building energy performance and value increase after green remodeling through previous researches, additional studies of the energy consumption assessment on actual green remodeling projects are essential. Therefore, this study aims to propose results on Before and After building energy consumption of actual green remodeling projects.

This study has developed a design indicator required to promote green remodeling in school facilities. And, implemented the green remodeling pilot test on the school facilities that are planning actual remodeling. This pilot test suggested user participation design methodology such as verification of the developed design indicator, design goal setting, evaluation and adjustment of design proposal. The Green Remodeling Design Indicators were classified into 3 large categories of architectural performance, usability, and design through analysis of cases related to 'green buildings' and 'remodeling'. We have developed nine middle categories such as architectural and structural performance, facility performance, environmentally-friendly, circulation, space, amenity, harmony with surroundings, form and symbolization. In addition, 42 detailed indicators were developed for each category, including general, functional, and special indicators. For the verification of this study, two green remodeling design workshops were conducted for Gwangju J elementary school. The first design workshop presented the importance of the design indicator and set the goal of the design plan of green remodeling for project. And, the second Workshop presented the evaluation of the satisfaction with the design and the direction of future adjustment for project. The design indicator developed in this study can be utilized as a design indicator of design quality management and decision system for the school green remodeling in the future. In addition, by accumulating information on the Green Remodeling Project, it is necessary to spread green remodeling and construct a sustainable building environment.

Recently, residents' community center is trying to combine with various program and facilities as the residents self-government program's development. This is due to the reduction of administrative tasks, the computerization of programs, the importance of community participation activities, the activation of community, and the increase of welfare projects. Therefore, previous studies on program complexity have been actively carried out. Nevertheless, spaces and programs studies of considering regional characteristics are lacking. Therefore, the community centers' program and spaces need to change. Therefore, this study propose an improvement direction through analyzing the situation of the residents' community center. For this study, the precedent research and institutional limitations are examined. In addition, this study selected and analyzed the 15 local community center. Thirdly, interviews were conducted with users and officials of the 5 residents' community centers on major changes. Finally, This study suggests direction of program improvement and architectural design direction. As a result of this study, integrated management measures with overlapping agencies should be sought. Surplus space will have to be rearranged into a new program through prior examination. Above all, the proposed remodeling guidelines require user requirements to be reflected and designed with the residents.

The policy that do so the Geritol generation with advanced age generation's increase may be not estranged and can human down life is necessary times. The Medical treatment and welfare service is essential, and the aged support domiciliary care facility in the rudiments step more expand must. It is real condition that Kangwon-do's number of closed school appears by many things thirdly in whole country and the post management countermeasure is urgent. Because this research chooses the closed school by way to solve the closed school problem that happen by the child of school age decrease the farming and fishing villages or small city and the shortage problem of old people's welfare facilities by population graying at the same time. There is the purpose to grope practical use the possibility of local closed school as welfare center for the old who stay at home present remodeling to welfare facilities for the old man. Keeping the structure condition of a closed school maximum, the welfare center for the old who stay at home by remodeling a closed school ultimately proposed.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of alendronates on bone remodeling around titanium implant in the maxilla of rats. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The maxillary first molars were extracted and customized-titanium implants were placed immediately in thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were divided into experimental (bisphosphonate) group and control group. At 4 weeks after implantation, the rats in the bisphosphonate group were subcutaneously injected with alendronate three times a week for 6 weeks where as the rats in control group were injected with saline. The rats were sacrificed at 1, 2, 3, 4, or 6 weeks after starting of injection and maxillary bones were collected subsequently. Alveolar bone remodeling around the implants were evaluated by radiographic and histologic analysis. Microarray analysis and immunohistomorphologic analysis were also performed on one rat, sacrificed at 6 weeks after starting of injection, from each group. Statistical analysis was performed using repeated measures analysis of variance and independent t test at a significance level of 5%. RESULTS. There was no statistically significant difference in the bone area (%) around implant between the bisphosphonate group and the control group. However, the amount of empty lacuna was significantly increased in the bisphosphonate group, especially in the rats sacrificed at 4 weeks after starting of injection compared to that of the corresponding control group. The bisphosphonate group showed the same level of TRAP positive cell count, osteocalcin and angiopoietin 1 as the control group. CONCLUSION. Alendronate may not decrease the amount of osteoclast. However, the significantly increased amount of empty lacuna in the bisphosphonate group may explain the suppression of bone remodeling in the bisphosphonate group.

Insulin resistance is closely associated with metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension and atherosclerosis. Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) have been developed to ameliorate insulin resistance by activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) ${\gamma}$. Although TZDs are synthetic ligands for $PPAR{\gamma}$, metabolic outcomes of each TZD are different. Moreover, there are lack of head-to-head comparative studies among TZDs in the aspect of metabolic outcomes. In this study, we analyzed the effects of three TZDs, including lobeglitazone (Lobe), rosiglitazone (Rosi), and pioglitazone (Pio) on metabolic and thermogenic regulation. In adipocytes, Lobe more potently stimulated adipogenesis and insulin-dependent glucose uptake than Rosi and Pio. In the presence of pro-inflammatory stimuli, Lobe efficiently suppressed expressions of pro-inflammatory genes in macrophages and adipocytes. In obese and diabetic db/db mice, Lobe effectively promoted insulin-stimulated glucose uptake and suppressed pro-inflammatory responses in epididymal white adipose tissue (EAT), leading to improve glucose intolerance. Compared to other two TZDs, Lobe enhanced beige adipocyte formation and thermogenic gene expression in inguinal white adipose tissue (IAT) of lean mice, which would be attributable to cold-induced thermogenesis. Collectively, these comparison data suggest that Lobe could relieve insulin resistance and enhance thermogenesis at low-concentration conditions where Rosi and Pio are less effective.
The system needs to be modified to improve the performance of the aircraft in operation or to satisfy the requirements of related laws. Appropriate standards are required for the technical skills for remodeling the aircraft system, design verification for airworthiness of the aircraft, and supplemental type certification (STC) certification procedures for type certification. This study analyzes the current status and demand of domestic aircraft remodeling, examines the current supplementary type certification procedure, and diagnoses the problem. In addition, as a result of researching measures to improve remodeling technology and certification capabilities to extend the life of the aircraft, improvements in the education system were derived to improve the domestic additional type certification process, such as approval of remodeling agencies and appointment of qualifications for each professional technician.
Despite high interests on microenvironmental regulation of leukemic cells, little is known for bone marrow (BM) niche in leukemia patients. Our recent study on BMs of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients showed that the mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are altered during leukemic conditions in a clinical course-dependent manner. Leukemic blasts caused reprogramming of transcriptomes in MSCs and remodeling of niche cross-talk, selectively suppressing normal primitive hematopoietic cells while supporting leukemogenesis and chemo-resistance. Notably, differences in BM stromal remodeling were correlated to heterogeneity in subsequent clinical courses of AML, i.e., low numbers of mesenchymal progenitors at initial diagnosis were correlated to complete remission for 5-8 years, and high contents of mesenchymal progenitor or MSCs correlated to early or late relapse, respectively. Thus, stromal remodeling by leukemic cell is an intrinsic part of leukemogenesis that can contribute to the clonal dominance of leukemic cells over normal hematopoietic cells, and can serve as a biomarker for prediction of prognosis.
