Characteristics of Sound Reduction Index through Small Sized Lightweight Panel (소형 경량판넬을 이용한 차음성능 영향요인별 음향감쇠계수 분석)

  • Recently, framed structure is increasingly being used as apartment structure due to the advantages during remodeling. Therefore, the use of lightweight panel as separating wall is increasing. To construct lightweight panel structures with sound insulation performance appropriate to the conditions of each field, measurement of sound reduction index(SRI) through panel structures should be performed. In this study, measurement of SRI through 46 kinds of panel structures was performed in the condition of various factors such as surface density, air space and absorber. The result showed that SRI of panel structures was generally higher by increasing of surface density. In the case of double panel with no absorber, SRI at below critical frequency was gradually increased according to rise of air space. Double panel with absorber make remarkable improvement in SRI at low frequency, but there is a little difference compared with SRI of double panel with no absorber over critical frequency.

  • Recently, structural system of apartment building is changing from wall type to column type to accommodate various life styles of residents in Korea. Reinforced-concrete bearing wall structures have been mainly used in apartment construction since 1980's. It is impossible to remove the bearing wall in case of remodeling a house, so that the lightweight wall is needed to apply to the column type structure of the Long Life Housing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the construction performance of the wall. Constructibility reviews are performed throughout interview survey from builders who charge with managing the construction of the lightweight wall in field. This paper present that constructor prefer the bearing wall rather than the lightweight wall because of the schedule delay, difficulty of management, and lack of skilled labor. The results indicate what we should improve on the lightweight wall from now on.

  • Management innovation as a strategic alternative to create competitive advantages in the global market, is being actively progressed by conglomerates such as Samsung, LG and Toyoda as they cut a brilliant figure in the 21 century by using various innovation methods. However, the domestic railway sectors, in particular urban railway depots have neglected management innovation as they undertake Operation and Management in non-competitive settings of a corporate enterprise. This paper analyzes the critical success factors that have switched the most obsolete depots to a benchmark model for domestic railway depots based on the remodeling businesses undertaken in Gunja rolling stock maintenance office, Korea's first urban railway depot, along with 5S 6sigma program.

  • With the rapid changes in healthcare system, the impact on healthcare design is significant and constantly changed. Because of emergence of new technology, far-advanced methods of healthcare delivery, and changing social and environmental issues, the healthcare planners and architects have to make sure that future expansion are taken into consideration when they design the hospitals. This thesis aims to investigate the hospital remodeling cases in Korea and USA and find the solutions for the vertical expansion of the hospitals in the metropolitan area where the buildings may be limited to be horizontally expanded. The M Cancer center in Manhattan, NY is selected to be carefully investigated and analyzed. Based on this analysis, the strategy for the vertical expansion of the hospital will be suggested.

Estimation of the Formaldehyde Concentration of Subterranean Shopping Centers according to their Spatial Configuration and Renovation (지하도상가의 리모델링 및 공간 특성에 따른 포름알데히드 농도 분석)

  • Underground shopping center has become a important commercial facility due to their good accessibility to the public transport. However, underground shopping center has high risk of air contaminants emission like formaldehyde and lowered indoor air quality. In this study, formaldehyde concentration of the underground shopping center was estimated according to the renovation and characteristics of space. It was found that newly renovated underground shopping center has low formaldehyde concentration. In case of closed entrance type, the formaldehyde concentration was 320 % higher than open type. Formaldehyde concentration was varied by product type and especially, high formaldehyde concentration was measured near the stores selling nail polish and cosmetics. It is important to apply appropriate ventilation system according to characteristics of space.

  • First appeared in the 1970s, the underground shopping mall has been spreading across the country, and there reportedly exist 77 malls in the 2010. After over 30 decades operation, many underground shopping malls are now under the planning phase for renovation in many cities. This study considers the renovation issue of the underground shopping mall in the perspective of spatial re-configuration. A case is taken from Kangnam TerminalUnderground Shopping Mall in Seoul for detailed observation and suggestion. The monotonous and confusingspatial layout of the existing mall is investigated by observation methods. Based on the observation, a modifiedplan is suggested and evaluated by means of computer simulation program, Depth Map. The program mainly deals with visual network analysis in order to quantify the optical exposure in a given space. It is argued in this paper that the enhanced visual connectedness could affect the pedestrian performance positively in the shopping mall, and this leads to an easy and quick access to each shops in users' stand point. It is thought that this configurational solution for the remodelling of a specific case would be an effective reference for other malls in the country which are facing the similar problems.

A Study of Prestressed Concrete Pile Stiffness for Structural Analysis of Condominium Remodeling with Vertical Story Extension (수직증축형 공동주택 리모델링 구조해석을 위한 PC말뚝 강성에 관한 연구)

  • According to the revision of the Housing Act in 2013, it has been possible to carry out an apartment remodeling project involving two to three floor vertical extension. The remodeling project with vertical extension requires foundation reinforcement because structural safety due to additional load and enhanced seismic criteria must be met. In this case, structural analysis is performed to analyze the load distributed to existing PC pile and reinforced additional pile. The vertical stiffness ($K_v$) of the pile is required for structural analysis, but the research on the 20~30 year old PC pile stiffness is very limited. In this paper, the stiffness of the PC pile in accordance with the change of diameter and length was analyzed by examining the results of 38 field pile load tests performed during the construction of the apartments in the 1990's. As a result of the analysis, the pile stiffness decreases with the increase of the length-diameter ratio (L/D). In addition, the results of on-site pile load test are compared with the coefficient 'a' for estimating pile stiffness proposed in Korea Highway Bridge Design Standard (2008) and the Pile Foundation Design Guideline of Korea Railroad Corporation (2012). It shows that 'a' obtained through the estimation of the literature is very similar to the field test results in the range of 10

Design Planning of Group-Home for the elderly in Rural Area (농촌형 고령자 그룹홈의 사례와 제안)

  • The elderly rate in South Korea in 2015 is over 13.1%. Especially, the elderly rate in rural area is high. Senior community project in rural that is being promoted by the government. This study's purpose is to provide the reserch group-home for the elderly in Japan rural area. And this paper provided planning of group-home for the elderly in Korea rural area. For this study, respective 5senior housing of Korea and Japan were chosen as respresenting two nations, and every manager was interviewed on housing pattern. This study suggests the planning material as following. First, the effectiveness of the group-home are big. Especially, the elderly was far healthier. Design point is public space(living room, small living room, etc). Maybe, healthy group-home concept is that would be design by Korean traditional housing. Also important public space design is that would be inner courtyard-house, wood floor, Deachong, etc. Two group-homes will construct elderly welfare facilities in between. Otherwise that is need layout of a big public space. In the case of vacant house can used by considering of scale, structure, site condition. Closed school can used through so easy remodeling too. More often than not complex type(hospital, community heath center) was appeared in Japan rural area. In the case of Korea, recommend complex type in community health center and public building. In this case, considering communication, access, contact, group-home keeps on ground floor. In this paper, we hope to take a lesson from group-home planning source for the elderly in Korea rural area.

A Study on the Containerization of Non-standardization Cargo for the Competitiveness Improvement of Gwangyang Port (광양항의 경쟁력 제고를 위한 비표준화 화물의 컨테이너화에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to suggest a containerization plan for non-standardized cargo; it also reveals the significance of containerization in facilitating freight inducement and cargo creation for increasing the competitiveness of the Gwangyang port container terminal and checking excessive competition among terminal operators. Therefore, this study suggested a containerization plan and its significance by dividing 14 items, ones with low containerization ratios or undergoing containerization, bulk, and liquid cargoes. In the case of general cargo, it will be necessary to raise the utilization rate by remodeling a general container or improving cargo loading techniques. In the case of bulk cargo, it will be necessary to exploit the benefits of containerization in preventing product deterioration due to rain, facilitating the sale of small orders, ensuring clean cargo handling, and reducing logistics cost, among others. In the case of liquid cargo, it will be necessary to order and sell liquid cargo in small quantities by using superior quality, safe, and durable Flexitank or Flexibag products, which offer transportation convenience and reduce time and costs.

  • This study is aim to analyze out Living Guide Book for residents in Housing and to have application to Long Life Housing as a precedent study based on Maintenance Guideline to make residents inhabitate, in case of suppling Wet type Short Life Housing with S(Support) and I(Infill), and Long Life Housing with devised SI, durability, alterability, available Remodeling and maintenance effect. Housing with large scale complex and brand-name offers Living Guide Book for residents that contains maintenance contents. Maintenance contents for residents in Housing are complex guide, use method of the each part, guide for repair of defect, repair and change of built -in items ended up life or damaged items. Maintenance contents for residents in Long Life Housing are important because the Manager takes charge of public area and public equipment in S, but the user takes charge of private area and private equipment. Therefore this study analyzes out Living Guide Book for residents in Housing as a precedent study based on Maintenance Guideline of Long Life Housing users.
