This paper analyzes the performance of symbol timing recovery and equalizer in 8VSB digital terrestrial TV receiver under various multipath signals and proposes equalization techniques which improve indoor reception performance. Data segment sync is used for symbol timing recovery and timing offset is measured for echoes of various delays and amplitudes by using symbol timing detection filter whose pattern is +1. +1. -1. and -1. Measured timing offsets were below 10% for long echoes with more than 5 symbol delay and above 30% for short echoes with around 1 symbol delay. Indoor reception is always more challenging than outdoor reception due to lower signal strength. large and short multipaths. and moving interfering objects. So it is considered to use FSE (Fractionally Spaced Equalizer) which is very robust to timing offset and blind equalizer which can update equalizer tap coefficients even by information data. We compare the performance of conventional DFE (Decision Feedback Equalizer) and FSE-DFE using LMS algorithm and Stop and Go algorithm for the indoor reception. Experiments reveals FSE has excellent performance for large timing offset and Stop and Go algorithm shows good performance for Doppler shift. so we propose to use FSE-DFE structure with Stop and Go algorithm for the reliable indoor reception.
Single image Super-Resolution (SISR) aims to generate a visually pleasing high-resolution image from its degraded low-resolution measurement. In recent years, deep learning - based super - resolution methods have been actively researched and have shown more reliable and high performance. A typical method is WaveletSRNet, which restores high-resolution images through wavelet coefficient learning based on feature maps of images. However, there are two disadvantages in WaveletSRNet. One is a big processing time due to the complexity of the algorithm. The other is not to utilize feature maps efficiently when extracting input image's features. To improve this problems, we propose an efficient single image super resolution method, named RDB-WaveletSRNet. The proposed method uses the residual dense block to effectively extract low-resolution feature maps to improve single image super-resolution performance. We also adjust appropriated growth rates to solve complex computational problems. In addition, wavelet packet decomposition is used to obtain the wavelet coefficients according to the possibility of large scale ratio. In the experimental result on various images, we have proven that the proposed method has faster processing time and better image quality than the conventional methods. Experimental results have shown that the proposed method has better image quality by increasing 0.1813dB of PSNR and 1.17 times faster than the conventional method.

The Quasi-Zenith Satellite System(QZSS) is the Japanese satellite navigation system, which designs to increase the GPS system's visibility in the urban areas. The first satellite(Michibiki) was launched in 2010 and started to broadcast navigation signals. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to analyze the performance of GPS and QZSS based on the advantage of the integrated GNSS. Especially, the study has been processed in terms of improving satellite navigation parameters around Korean Peninsula. To do this, there have been the comprehensive analysis of the QZSS characteristics, the experimental test, and its statistical analysis for realizing advantage of GPS and QZSS. Through these systemic steps, it was recognized that the integrated GPS and QZSS has more reliable than GPS in case of not only limited visibility but also ordinary positioning. Additionally, the integrated GPS and QZSS would be very useful to improve the various navigation parameters around the peninsula.
This paper studies the collective communication in the grid computing environment, which is characterized by the combination of heterogeneous networks as well as uneven, long communication delay. Efficient collective communication requires communication schedule, which in turn requires network information. When the network information is not accurate or network faults occur, the performance of collective communication can be markedly degraded. This paper proposes TTCC(Two-Tree Collective Communication) for scheduling collective communication in the grid. It Provides an efficient and reliable schedule even In this unfavorable network condition by maintaining two disjoint communication trees. Benefits of the proposed method are manifested via simulation, where the performance degradation with TTCC is much slower than those using conventional scheduling algorithms.

As a backbone network, wireless mesh network (WMN) aims to provide reliable high throughput network connectivity to wireless users. Recent research has focused on routing and channel allocation to increase the capacity of wireless mesh backbones. Wireless mesh networking is an attractive solution for home, community, and enterprise networks as it is a self-configuring, instantly deployable, and lowcost networking system. In this paper, we empirically evaluate and analyze charateristic of WMN to establish WMN testbed by measurement. We use laptops and net4826 Soekris board widely used. Soekris boards are equipped with one network interface card (NIC) or above in our measurements. We also use paket generator, routing demon tools and so on. Throughout this measurements, we show limitation of Soekris board and software we use, and suggest guideline to establish WMN.
In the self-healing group key distribution scheme, users are capable of recovering lost group keys on their own without requesting additional transmission from the group manager, where there is no reliable network infrastructure. In this paper, we propose a new self-healing group key distribution scheme with revocation capability, which is optimal in terms of user memory storage and more efficient in terms of communication complexity than the previous results. We obtain a slightly improved result from (13) and (14) by using the new broadcasting method. In addition, we prove that our scheme has the properties of t-wise forward secrecy and t-wise backward secrecy, and extend this self-healing approach to the session key recovery scheme from a single broadcast message.
5G AgiLe and fLexible integration of SaTellite And cellulaR (5G-ALLSTAR) is a Korea-Europe (KR-EU) collaborative project for developing multi-connectivity (MC) technologies that integrate cellular and satellite networks to provide seamless, reliable, and ubiquitous broadband communication services and improve service continuity for 5G and beyond. The main scope of this project entails the prototype development of a millimeter-wave 5G New Radio (NR)-based cellular system, an investigation of the feasibility of an NR-based satellite system and its integration with cellular systems, and a study of spectrum sharing and interference management techniques for MC. This article reviews recent research activities and presents preliminary results and a plan for the proof of concept (PoC) of three representative use cases (UCs) and one joint KR-EU UC. The feasibility of each UC and superiority of the developed technologies will be validated with key performance indicators using corresponding PoC platforms. The final achievements of the project are expected to eventually contribute to the technical evolution of 5G, which will pave the road for next-generation communications.

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) needs error recovery and flow control schemes to support reliable multicast protocol. Limited wireless bandwidth, as well as queuing losses caused by the asymmetric wired/wireless interactions, demands more effective approaches for reducing packet losses. Moreover, since the wireless channel is a shared broadcast medium, if sender receives feedback information simultaneously from several receivers, the feedback delays data frame transmission of forward direction by introducing channel congestion and burden at the sender. Therefore, it is important to minimize the amount of feedback information from receivers. In this paper, we propose an ARS(Adaptive Redundancy Scheme) that combines FEC(Forward Error Correction) using channel state estimation and ARQ(Automatic Repeat Request) both to reduce the amount of feedback information and the number of retransmissions and to guarantee high data reliability in a WLAN multicast environment. Performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by means of analysis and simulations in AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels. The results show that the proposed scheme reduces the amount of feedback information and the number of retransmissions and guarantees high data reliability, while keeping throughput efficiency similarly with the conventional FEC and ARQ scheme.

For vehicle safety-related services using wireless communications, reliable collection of various driving informations transmitted periodically by neighbor vehicles is the most important. Every host vehicle analyses them to estimate a potential dangerous situation in a very short time and warns drivers to prevent an accident. However tremendous amount of periodic messages can cause the wireless communication in chaos and the services not in safe. In this paper, we propose a time-division broadcasting protocol to mitigate the communication congestion. It utilizes the received information of vehicle velocity and location, i.e. vehicle traffic density on a road to adjust the number of time slots in a given broadcasting period, and transmission power. The simulation results show that message reception ratio is changed to approximately 40% and channel access time also decreased from 10ms to 0.23ms.
The Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) is the Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) under development in Korea. KASS navigation service support navigation Safety of Life (SoL) service. KASS signal provides corrections to Global Positioning System (GPS) data received from KASS Reference Stations (KRS) and is broadcast form Geostationary Earth Orbiting (GEO) satellites to KASS users and is used by GPS/SBAS user equipment to improve the accuracy, availability, continuity and integrity of the navigation solution. Seven KRS's collect the satellite data and send them to the KASS Processing Stations (KPS) for the generation of the corrections and the monitoring the integrity. For performing its computation the KPS needs to know accurate and reliable KRS antennas coordinates. These coordinates are provided as configuration parameters to the KPS. This means that the reference frame in which the KPS work is the one represented by the set of coordinates provided as input. Therefore, the activity to maintain the accuracy of the KRS antenna coordinates is necessary, knowing that coordinates can evolve due to earth plates movements or earthquakes. In this paper, we analyzed the geodetic survey results for KRS antenna coordinates from Site Acceptance Test (SAT) #1 in December 2020 to August 2022. In the future, it is expected that these activities and planning for KRS coordinates maintenance will be produced and provided to KASS system operators for KPS configuration updates during the KASS lifetime of 15 years. Through these maintenance activities, it is expected that monitoring and analysis of unpredictable events such as earthquakes and seism will be possible in the future.
