The purpose of research is to measure power and dynamic resistance value through RMS module. Specially designed RMS-DC hardware module was tested. Its output which is obtained every half cycle was compared with that of commercial weld checker. The results show good agreement and the relative error in the measurement was found to be around 5%.
This study evaluated microbial risk that could develop within soil microbial communities after amended with organic fertilizers from stabilized swine manure waste. For this purpose, we assessed the occurrences and competitiveness of antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity in soil microbial communities that were amended with swine manure wastes stabilized by a traditional lagoon fermentation process and an autothermal thermophilic aerobic digestion process, respectively. According to laboratory cultivation detection analysis, soil applications of the stabilized organic fertilizers resulted in increases in absolute abundances of antibiotic resistant bacteria and of two tested pathogenic bacteria indicators. The increase in occurrences might be due to the overall growth of microbial communities by the supplement of nutrients from the fertilizers. Meanwhile, the soil applications were found to reduce competitiveness for various types of antibiotic resistant bacteria in the soil microbial communities, as indicated by the decrease in relative abundances (of total viable heterotrophic bacteria). However, competitiveness of pathogens in response to the fertilization was pathogens-specific, since the relative abundance of Staphylococcus was decreased by the soil applications, while the relative abundance of Salmonella was increased. Further testes revealed that no MAR (multiple antibiotic resistance) occurrence was detected among cultivated pathogen colonies. These findings suggest that microbial risk in the soil amended with the fertilizers may not be critical to public health. However, because of the increased occurrences of antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity resulted from the overall microbial growth by the nutrient supply from the fertilizers, potential microbial risk could not be completely ruled out in the organic-fertilized soil samples.

This study explores the major factors that are likely to affect the acceptance and resistance of innovative products and services. The TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) has been widely used for understanding consumer acceptance of new technology. This model displays perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as antecedents of intention to adopt and use. However, research has reported a variety of preceding variables for technology acceptance. In addition, considering paradoxes of technology, research regarding both acceptance and resistance in an integrated model can explain consumer perception and behavior in detail. The results of this study states that relative benefits, degree of innovation in technology, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have had positive influence on the intention to adopt but negative impact on that of resistance. However, alterations of usage and perceived risk positively affects resistance, but also have negative effects on the intention to adopt. Finally, intention to adopt has comparatively greater influence than that of resistance on intention to use. Theoretical and managerial implications of the results are also discussed.

Recently, as the offshore structures are operated in the deep-sea oil fields, interest in the analysis of relative wave elevation around platforms is increased. In this study, it is examined how the analysis results differ depending on the characteristics of the wave probe when interpreting the relative wave elevation in the model test. First, by conducting the wave probe comparison experiment in the two-dimensional wave tank, it is confirmed how the measured values differ according to the type of wave probe for the same physical phenomenon. Two types of wave probe are selected, the resistance type and the capacitance type, and the causes of the difference in measured values is studied. After that, the model test of the semi-submersible platform is conducted to investigate the relative wave elevation. Relative wave elevation is measured with the wave probes used in the wave probe comparison experiment and analyzed to estimate the asymmetric factor and the extreme upwell. The results between the two types of wave probes are compared, and qualitative study for the cause of the difference is conducted by photographing the physical phenomenon using a high-speed camera. Through the above study, it is confirmed that the capacitance type wave probe shows a larger measured value than the resistance type under the breaking-wave condition, and the same results are obtained for the asymmetric factor and the extreme upwell. These results is thought to be due to the difference in the measurement principle between wave probes, which is whether or not they measured water bubbles. This implies that the model test should be conducted using appropriate wave probes by considering the physical phenomenon to be analyzed.
PURPOSES: It is important to consider the long-term performance of concrete pavement, because concrete pavement is more exposed to the various environmental conditions than any other concrete structures. One of the several methods to evaluate the long-term performance of concrete during winter is KS F 2456. Relative dynamic modulus of elasticity shows the resistance to freezing and thawing. METHODS: To measure relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, ultra sonic is generally used. But in this study, to measure the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, both ultra sonic and shear wave were used and then compared each other. RESULTS: The results from the measurement by ultrasonic wave and shear wave were divided into three types. Type 1 : Specimens are good and relative dynamic modulus of elasticity did not decrease until 300 cycle. Type 2 : The relative dynamic modulus of elasticity decreased from the late cycle.(about 150 cycle later) Type 3 : The relative dynamic modulus of elasticity consistently decreased from the beginning. As a result of ANOVA, there is no difference according to measuring method, in type 2 and 3. But there is a difference according to measuring method, in type 1's relative dynamic modulus of elasticity. CONCLUSIONS: It is proved that shear wave can be used to understand the damage tendency of relative freezing and thawing and to measure the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity.
Etch rates of Si and high purity SiC have been compared for various fluorocarbon plasmas. The relative plasma resistance of SiC, which is defined as the etch rate ratio of Si to SiC, varied between 1.4 and 4.1, showing generally higher plasma resistance of SiC. High resolution X-ray photoelectron analysis revealed that etched SiC has a surface carbon content higher than that of etched Si, resulting in a thicker fluorocarbon polymer layer on the SiC surface. The plasma resistance of SiC was correlated with this thick fluorocarbon polymer layer, which reduced the reaction probability of fluorine-containing species in the plasma with silicon from the SiC substrate. The remnant carbon after the removal of Si as volatile etch products augments the surface carbon, and seems to be the origin of the higher plasma resistance of SiC.
The lubrication characteristics of high-speed ball bearings at oil-starvation have been investigated empirically using the bearings employed in small industrial gas turbine engines. For the close structural simulation, experiments carried our with bearing mounting supports of real engines, such as bearing housings and oil nozzle assemblies with squeeze film dampers. Thus the results of tests can be applied to the design and the development of gas turbine engines. Testing was done by simulating the oil-starvation conditions in engines, such as stopping the oil-supply to the bearing during normal operating, starting without oil-supply at atmospheric temperature, and accelerating with oil-supply at atmospheric temperature. From this study, the relative comparison of the frictional resistance and the resistance due to the bearing cavity oil was demonstrated visually, and the resistance due to the bearing cavity oil was dominant in the resistance of bearing at high speed.

This paper presents an adaptive feedback linearization control scheme for induction motors using stator fluxes. By using stator flukes as states, overparameterization is prevented and control inputs can be determined straightforwardly unlike in existing schemes. This approach leads to the decrease of the relative degree for the flux modulus and thus yields a simpler control algorithm than the prior results. In this paper. adaptation schemes are suggested to compensate for the variations of stator resistance. rotor resistance and load torque. In particular, the adaptation to the variation of stator resistance with a feedback linearization control is a new trial. In addition, to improve the convergence of rotor resistance estimation, the differences between stator currents and its estimates are used for the parameter adaptation. The simulations show that torque and flux are controlled independently and that the estimates of stator resistance, rotor resistance, and load torque converge to their true values. Actual experiments on a 3.7㎾ induction motor verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
