Analysis of Mathematical Structure to Identify Students' Understanding of a Scientific Concept: pH Value and scale

  • Many topics in science, especially, abstract concepts, relationships, properties, entities in invisible ranges, are described in mathematical representations such as formula, numbers, symbols, and graphs. Although the mathematical representation is an essential tool to better understand scientific phenomena, the mathematical element is pointed out as a reason for learning difficulty and losing interests in science. In order to further investigate the relationship between mathematics knowledge and science understanding, the current study examined 793 high school students' understanding of the pH value. As a measure of the molar concentration of hydrogen ions in the solution, the pH value is an appropriate example to explore what a student mathematical structure of logarithm is and how they interpret the proportional relationship of numbers for scientific explanation. To the end, students were asked to write their responses on a questionnaire that is composed of nine content domain questions and four affective domain questions. Data analysis of this study provides information for the relationship between student understanding of the pH value and related mathematics knowledge.

The Structural Relationship among Selection Attributes, Consumption Value Brand Attitude, Fun, Brand Loyalty and Quality of Life in Athleisure

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship among selection attributes, consumption value brand attitude, fun, brand loyalty and quality of life. The subjects of the empirical study were selected by the Korea Fashion Industry Research Institute using the convention sampling method and the quota sampling method for 241 consumers who have purchased brands classified as "athleisure" within the past year For each variable constructed to verify reliability and validity of the measurement model, reliability tests using Cronbach' alpha were performed using IBM SPSS Win Ver. 23.0. To verify the unidimensionality of the measurements, we conducted a confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS 22.0 and a structural equation model to determine the structural relationship between variables. As a result of the study, First, both intrinsic and extrinsic attributes, which are sub-factors of selection attributes, have been shown to have a significant effect on consumption value. Second, consumption value has been shown to have a significant impact on brand attitude and fun. Third, brand attitudes have been shown to have a significant impact on brand loyalty. Finally, fun has been shown to have a significant impact on quality of life.

  • The goal of this research is to look into the relationship between social media marketing activities and brand attachment in the online marketing business, based on the indirect effect of perceived value and self-brand connections. For this reason, the study has used self-administered questionnaires to collect the data from 425 males from the major cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot. Furthermore, based on the PLS-SEM technique the empirical findings show that social media marketing activities positively affect perceived value, self-brand connections, and brand attachment. Perceived value has a significant positive impact on brand attachment and mediates the influence of social media marketing activities on brand attachment. In addition to this, self-brand connections have a positive effect on brand attachment, and self-brand connections mediate the relationship between them. Thus, firms employing social media marketing activities successfully in their branding build upon a positive perception of the brand in the customer's mind resulting in customer attachment with the brand. This study can assist the e-commerce managers and brand managers in building strong customer attachment via perceived value and self-brand connections.

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is exploring whether the characteristics and heterogeneity of the TMT play a moderating role in CSR and corporate value or not. Design/methodology/approach - The literature research method includes collecting, organizing, and analyzing the literature on the characteristics and heterogeneity of the TMT, the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR), and corporate value. We analyze the contributions and limitations in existing research, grasp the current research status, and develop the research content of this article. The empirical analysis method is based on the data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2001 to 2017. This allows us to study the moderating effect of the characteristics and heterogeneity of the TMT on CSR and corporate value. Findings - The TMT age, education degree, overseas background, and compensation have a positive moderating effect on CSR and corporate market value. The comprehensive heterogeneity of the TMT also has a positive effect on CSR and financial performance. Research implications or Originality - The research on the relationship between CSR and corporate value is still inconclusive. Some results have found a positive relationship, while others show a negative relationship. Studies exist that report mixed findings as well. This study has attempted to clarify this problem by adding potentially missing variables related on the TMT characteristics and heterogeneity, investigating causality effects.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of relationship orientation factors on customer satisfaction and loyalty in Internet shopping malls. Based on previous exploratory work and a review of the literature of relationship marketing, six key factors of relationship orientation construct are identified: trust, bonding, communication. shared value. empathy and reciprocity. And a conceptual model is developed and seven research hypotheses are empirica1ly examined using structural equation modelling. The results show that bonding, shared value and reciprocity has statistically significant effect on the trust of online customers and trust has a positive influence on customer satisfaction and loyalty in Internet shopping malls. Theoretical. managerial and research implications are discussed.

Trajectory of Development of Depression and Problem Drinking in Adults: Focused on the Convergence Factors of Basic Livelihood Receipt and Disabed People (성인의 우울과 문제음주 발달궤적: 기초생활 수급여부와 장애인여부의 융합적 요인을 중심으로)

  • In this study, data from the 11th year of the Korean Welfare Panel Study (2016), the 12th year (2017), the 13th year (2018), and the 14th year (2019) were used to verify whether drinking problems in adults had an end-to-end effect on depression. The analysis showed that, first, the initial value of depression has a static (+) relationship with the initial value of problem drinking, and a significant relationship with the rate of change in problem drinking. Second, the supply and demand households showed a static relationship with the initial value of depression, the initial value of problem drinking. Third, in the case of people with disabilities, the relationship between the initial value of depression, the initial value of problem drinking, and the amulet (-). Therefore, it was suggested that the development of drinking problem prevention programs and education should be actively carried out in school education before adulthood.

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of perceived value and satisfaction with employees' foodservice on loyalty intention. A total of 273 questionnaires were completed. Structural equation model was used to measure the mediating role of satisfaction in the causal relationships among perceived sacrifice, service quality, value, satisfaction, and loyalty intention. Results of the study demonstrated that the structural analysis result for the data also indicated excellent model fit. The direct effects of perceived sacrifice and service quality on value were statistically significant. The direct effects of service quality and value on satisfaction were statistically significant. The direct effects of value and satisfaction on loyalty intention were statistically significant. The service quality had a significant indirect influence on loyalty intention through value and satisfaction. In addition, the value played a mediating role in the relationship between service quality and satisfaction. The satisfaction played a mediating role in the relationship between value and loyalty intention.

Factors Influencing the Value of Having Children among University Students (대학생의 자녀관에 영향하는 요인)

  • Purpose: This study undertakes to identify factors influencing the perception university students in Korea hold toward having children. Method: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted on 187 university students (79 males and 108 females) from one university located in a metropolitan area. Participating students completed a packet of self-report questionnaires on values concerning gender roles, marriage, family and children along with their personal demographic details. The resulting data were analyzed using t-tests, one-way ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficients as well as descriptive statistics. Stepwise multiple regression was performed to identify factors that most influenced the value of children held among university students. Results: The value of having children was negatively associated with the value of family, but positively associated with the value of marriage. In addition, the value of family had a negative relationship with the value of marriage, but a positive relationship with the value of gender role. Stepwise multiple regression found that the equation consisting of gender and value of marriage explained about 42.0% of the variance of the value of having children. Conclusion: Considering the findings from this study, programs promoting the positive values of marriage are required for university students to have positive values toward having children.

  • The author focus on the role of IMC(integrated marketing communication)that is important for increase of relationship equity value, stress on the integration of IMC and PR in relationship marketing. This paper present as follow. The first, marketing thought have evolved through market competition situation at a market segmentation level perspective, and the concept of relationship equity is necessary to individual marketing or relationship marketing. The second, firm should identify profitable customer, build strong relationship for relationship equity, based on customer equity and life time value in customer market. The third, IMC needs integration with PR for relationship building of stakeholder including customer market at a point of view of corporate equity. Finally, this article offer discussion about implications of integration IMC and PR for future study.

A Comparative Study on Liquid Limit Value (시험방법에 따른 액성한계치의 비교 연구)

  • This study, Using Pusan clay, examined a relationship between Dynamic and Static Liquid Tests. The Static Liquid Tests wow carried out based on BS and JIS. The results of the study are summarized as follows. (1) The result of the Dynamic Liquid Limit Test showed that the liquid limit values of air-dried soil were greater than those of oven-dried soil by 4%~15% (2) The liquid limit value of the Static Liquid Limit Test was greater than that of the Dynamic Liquid Limit Test by 2%~9%. The following equations show the relationship between the two values WL,Fall(JIS) = 0.961ㆍWL,Cas. + 4.209 WL,Fall(BS) = 0.969ㆍWL,Cas + 5.024 (3) The liquid limit value of BS was greater than that of JIS by 1%~6%. The following equation shows the relationship between the two values.
