  • Eviction characteristics of two typical friction materials (non-asbestos organic and low-steel friction materials) for an automotive brake system were investigated using an inertial brake dynamometer. In particular, the effect of sliding speed on friction coefficient was carefully investigated employing various test modes. The two friction materials were developed for commercial applications and were different mainly in the type and the amount of metallic ingredients in the friction material. The dynamometer test showed that the low-steel friction material was sensitive to the sliding speed exhibiting a negative $\mu$-v relation. On the other hand, the non-asbestos organic friction material was less sensitive to the sliding speed. The low steel friction materials with a negative $\mu$-v relation also induced larger vibration amplitude during brake applications.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare college students' emoticon use for positive behavior and to analyze the impact of the factors. This study is consisted of 66 questions based on Social demographic characteristics, personality characteristics factors and both scales of emotional expression. The operational test was administered to 340 college students. In an effort to calibrate emoticon use of positive behavior, the results displayed significance differences depending on the gender and grade of the students. Women used more emoticons than men, and freshman used more emoticons than any other year of students. Women used more emoticons such as texts, images, and flash more than men. Students in their freshman year were shown to use more emoticons than students in other grade levels. Emotional expression was strongly related man with personality traits of integrity. Personality traits of sensitivity, openness, intimacy, and sincerity had a significant influence on the emotional expression. An emoticon is, therefore, be a useful tool to express their emotions. Male and female students with higher levels of congeniality had expressed more emotions that were self-defence ambivalent and concerned-relation ambivalent. However, in the case of the female students, those with higher levels of self-defence ambivalent emotional expressiveness had a lower usage of positive emoticons, while male students with higher levels of self-defence emotional expressiveness used more positive emoticons. Higher levels of congeniality among groups that use mobile emoticons with their parents, whether the frequency of use was high or low, were associated with higher levels of self-defence ambivalence and concerned-relation ambivalence. Those with higher levels of sincerity had low levels of self-defence ambivalence and concerned-relation ambivalence, and those with higher levels of concerned-relation ambivalence had higher levels of positive emoticon usage.

  • Objectives : This study aims to investigate the correlation between the characteristics of personality on MMPI scale, and the siblings relation, number of current family living with, gender and age of the Oriental Medical University students. Methods : For this study, we carried out the MMPI profiling and gathered information regarding the sibling relation of the subjects. We studied the correlation between the two measures, and the correlation between MMPI scales and the subjects' gender and age. Results : 1. The group without siblings had higher STY figures then the groups with siblings. 2. There was no significant differences in MMPI profiles among the only child group, first-born group, second-born group, and third-born group. 3. The married group showed higher Pd, Pt, Sc, BDL figures than the unmarried group. 4. As the number of family members currently living with increased, the BDL and STY figures decreased. 5. The male group had higher Hs, Hy, Pa, Ma, NAR, BDL, ANT, CPS, PAR, and SZD figures, while the female group had higher D, Pd, Mf, Pt, HST, PAG, and DEP figures. 6. As the subjects' age increased, the figure of Hs, D, Pt, Sc, Si, AVD, and SZD increased, while the HST figure decreased. Conclusions : By the above results, we can assume that the sibling relations and the order one is born in the family does not affect one's personality much in grown-ups; whereas the gender and age affect the personality.

  • As the Internet establishes and reinforces connections between people, virtual community is becoming one of considerable business model. We believe that benefits of the virtual community go to both customer and vendor organizing virtual community. Despite the explosive growth of virtual communities on the Internet, empirical research has been focused to study the issues related to characteristics of virtual community The objective of this study is to enhance the understanding about virtual communities as an e-business model by Customer Relation Management and by empirically validating their effect on the performance of website. Through path analysis, we find support for relations behavior influence the online commitment. we also find that the online commitment enhance the organization citizenship behavior. Finally, we discuss several theoretical and practical Implications, and suggest limitations for research and future research issue.

  • A current-voltage relation for Positive Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (PTCR) ceramic was derived and compared with the experimental data. The new current-voltage relation was developed based on Heywangs double Schottky barrier model and a bias distribution across the grain boundary. The voltage limitation V < 4${\Phi}$$\sub$b/ suggested by Heywang is no longer necessary in the new expression for the voltage dependence of the resistance. The pulsed voltages were applied to the PTCR ceramic specimen in order to avoid possible temperature variation during the measurement.
