Recently, an application business model was proposed to implement an M-coupon system using the NFC-based mobile devices. In this paper, the security requirements were surveyed for a secure M-coupon system and to analyze the threats on the existing NFC-based M-coupon protocols. After considering the implementation efficiency and security, this paper presents a novel M-coupon protocol based on the Diffie-Hellman key agreement scheme. This protocol can be an alternative to solve the security problems related to the PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and secret key distribution. Furthermore, this M-coupon protocol is designed to provide user authentication and counteract the relay attack.

Block Cipher SEED which was developed by KISA are not only Korea national standard algorithm of TTA but also one of standard 128-bit block ciphers of ISO/IEC. Since SEED had been developed, many analyses were tried but there was no distinguishing cryptanalysis except the 7-round differential attack in 2002. The attack used the 6-round differential characteristic with probability $2^{-124}$ and analyzed the 7-round SEED with $2^{127}$ chosen plaintexts. In this paper, we propose a new 6-round differential characteristic with probability $2^{-110}$ and analyze the 7-round SEED with $2^{113}$ chosen plaintexts.

It is news from nowhere that post-quantum cryptography has side-channel analysis vulnerability. Side-channel analysis attack method and countermeasures for code-based McEliece cryptosystem and lattice-based NTRU cryptosystem have been investigated. Unfortunately, the investigation of the ring-LWE cryptosystem in terms of side-channel analysis is as yet insufficient. In this paper, we propose a chosen ciphertext simple power analysis attack that can be applied when ring-LWE cryptography operates on 8-bit devices. Our proposed attack can recover the key only with [$log_2q$] traces. q is a parameter related to the security level. It is used 7681 and 12289 to match the common 128 and 256-bit security levels, respectively. We identify the vulnerability through experiment that can reveal the secret key in modular add while the ring-LWE decryption performed on real 8-bit devices. We also discuss the attack that uses a similarity measurement method for two vectors to reduce attack time.
In the traditional buffeting response analysis method, the spanwise incomplete correlation of buffeting forces is always assumed to be same as that of the incident wind turbulence and the action of the signature turbulence is ignored. In this paper, three typical bridge decks usually adopted in the real bridge engineering, a single flat box deck, a central slotted box deck and a two-separated paralleled box deck, were employed as the investigated objects. The wind induced pressure on these bridge decks were measured via a series of wind tunnel pressure tests of the sectional models. The influences of the wind speed in the tests, the angle of attack, the turbulence intensity and the characteristic distance were taken into account and discussed. The spanwise root coherence of buffeting forces was also compared with that of the incidence turbulence. The signature turbulence effect on the spanwise root coherence function was decomposed and explained by a new empirical method with a double-variable model. Finally, the formula of a sum of rational fractions that accounted for the signature turbulence effect was proposed in order to fit the results of the spanwise root coherence function. The results show that, the spanwise root coherence of the drag force agrees with that of incidence turbulence in some range of the reduced frequency but disagree in the mostly reduced frequency. The spanwise root coherence of the lift force and the torsional moment is much larger than that of the incidence turbulence. The influences of the wind speed and the angle of attack are slight, and they can be ignored in the wind tunnel test. The spanwise coherence function often involves several narrow peaks due to the signature turbulence effect in the high reduced frequency zone. The spanwise coherence function is related to the spanwise separation distance and the spanwise integral length scales, and the signature turbulence effect is related to the deck-width-related reduced frequency.

With the swift growth of wireless technologies, an increasing number of users rely on the mobile services which can exchange information in mobile networks. Security is of key issue when a user tries to access those services in this network environment. Many authentication schemes have been presented with the purpose of authenticating entities and wishing to communicate securely. Recently, Chou et al. and Farash-Attari presented two ID authentication schemes. They both claimed that their scheme could withstand various attacks. However, we find that the two authentication schemes are vulnerable to trace attack while having a problem of clock synchronization. Additionally, we show that Farash-Attari's scheme is still susceptible to key-compromise impersonation attack. Therefore, we present an enhanced scheme to remedy the security weaknesses which are troubled in these schemes. We also demonstrate the completeness of the enhanced scheme through the Burrow-Abadi-Needham (BAN) logic. Security analysis shows that our scheme prevents the drawbacks found in the two authentication schemes while supporting better secure attributes. In addition, our scheme owns low computation overheads compared with other related schemes. As a result, our enhanced scheme seems to be more practical and suitable for resource-constrained mobile devices in mobile networks.
With the diverse services of the current M2M environment being expanded to the organizations, the corporations, and the daily lives, the possibility of the occurrence of the vulnerabilities of the security of the related technologies have become an issue. In order to solve such a problem of the vulnerability of the security, this thesis proposes the technique for applying the cryptography algorithm for the protection of the device key of the M2M environment. The proposed technique was based on the elliptic curve cryptography Through the key exchange and the signature exchange in the beginning, the security session was created. And the white box cipher was applied to the encryption that creates the white box table using the security session key. Application results cipher algorithm, Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides a lightweight mutual authentication, a session key for protecting the communication session and a conventional white-box cipher algorithm and was guaranteed the session key used to encrypt protected in different ways. The proposed protocol has secure advantages against Data modulation and exposure, MITM(Man-in-the-middle attack), Data forgery and Manipulation attack.

Recently, the number of attacks by malicious application has significantly increased, targeting Android-platform mobile terminal such as Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 10.1. The malicious application can be distributed to currently used mobile devices through open market masquerading as an normal application. An attacker inserts malicious code into an application, which might threaten privacy by rooting attack. Once the rooting attack is successful, malicious code can collect and steal private data stored in mobile terminal, for example, SMS messages, contacts list, and public key certificate for banking. To protect the private information from the malicious attack, malicious code detection, rooting attack detection and countermeasure method are required. To meet this end, this paper investigates rooting attack mechanism for Android-platform mobile terminal. Based on that, this paper proposes countermeasure system that enables to extract and collect events related to attacks occurring from mobile terminal, which contributes to active protection from malicious attacks.

Several authentication methods have been developed to make use of tokens in the mobile networks and smart payment systems. Token used in smart payment system is genearated in place of Primary Account Number. The use of token in each payment transaction is advantageous because the token authentication prevents enemy from intercepting credit card number over the network. Existing token authentication methods work together with the cryptogram, which is computed using the shared key that is provisioned by the token service provider. Long lifetime and repeated use of shared key cause potential brawback related to its vulnerability against the brute-force attack. This paper proposes a per-transaction shared key mechanism, where the per-transaction key is agreed between the mobile device and token service provider for each smart payment transaction. From server viewpoint, per-transaction key list is easy to handle because the per-transaction key has short lifetime below a couple of seconds and the server does not need to maintain the state for the mobile device. We analyze the optimum size of the per-transaction shared key which satisfy the requirements for transaction latency and security strength for secure payment transactions.

In 2011, C.-T. Li et al. proposed a secure user authentication scheme, which is an improvement over Kim et al.'s scheme to resolve several security flaws such as off-line password guessing attack and masquerading attack. C.-T. Li et al. claimed that their scheme prevents smart card security related attacks. Moreover, it provides mutual authentication and session key establishment. However, we found that their scheme is vulnerable to password guessing attack through password change phase, smart card forgery attack and stolen verifier attack. Moreover, C.-T. Li et al.'s scheme is not secure against password guessing attack as they claimed. In this paper, we also point out that their scheme is not practical to use.
