  • Recently with increase consumption of electric power, the scale of the electric system becomes bigger and complex. Then, it is increasing the hardship in the operation of electric system and the continuance of stability. Especially, as the differences between demand and supply in electric power keeping low frequency oscillating attenuation from electric power have been very important in the continuance part of stability. The more control time of electricity system is getting faster with digitalization the more stability of electricity system is getting worse. As solutions of these problems, by establishing Power System Stabilizing Controller putting PSS output signal and putting damping to vibration of the rotor at generators's AVR in area where is oscillated, We are willing to contribute the electricity system by holding in generator output vibration.

  • Recently World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office (WHO/WPRO) has developed the WHO International Standard Terminologies on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region (IST), and is developing WHO International Classification of Traditional Medicine/Western Pacific Regional Office (ICTM/WPRO). Regarding ICTM, WHO/WPRO hoped that it will be incorporated to International Classification of Disease (ICD) 11$^{th}$ edition, published in 2015. The author reports the proceedings of these two standardizations on terminologies and diseases of traditional medicine in East Asia.

  • Monitoring infectious diseases for fishery species takes a key role in preventing disease emergence and spreading of cultured fishery species. This research has examined a total of 1,115 fishes of four species (leather carp, fancy carp, stone moroko, carassius auratus) at 23 farm in Jeollanamdo and Jeollabukdo in 2021 for pathogen infection. As a result of disease screening for three legally designated diseases (SVC, Spring viraemia of carp, EUS, Epizootic ulcerative syndrome, and KHVD, Koi herpesvirus disease), no infectious diseases were detected in all examined samples; cyprinid fish studied in Jeolla province would provide important information for declaring a disease-free nation or disease-free region.

  • The genus Charitoprepes (Warren), a probable vagrant group of the family Crambidae is newly recorded for the first time from the Korean Peninsula, which was described based on C. lubricosa (Warren) from Jeju islands. Diagnosis and illustrations of detailed diagnostic characters, including genitalia are provided.

  • Korea's experiences in the use and development of nuclear energy are recognized as a successful model as a developing country in the international nuclear community. With these experiences, Korea is able to contribute to the progress of Korean nuclear industry and international society as a nuclear advanced country. This paper reviews and analyzes the current situation and major issues in securing the international legal status of RCA Regional Office hosted by Korean Government since 2002. In this connection, major political environments and relevant issues in facilitating the revision of RCA Agreement and securing legal status of the RCARO are also investigated. It is essential to amend the 1987 RCA Agreement or to conclude the its supplementary agreement for the securing of the international legal status of RCA Regional Office at the RCA policy meeting prior to extension of the agreement in 2017 and after. It is recommended for the Korean Government to establish and operate the inter-ministry governmental task force teams to facilitate and support the required actions in the national and diplomatic actions in the regional level for the sustainable development of the RCA and RCA Regional Office.

  • This study was conducted to estimate how vertically high and horizontally long a sea breeze occurred around Gangneung of the Korean peninsula would be reached to an inland. Geographically, gangneung is located on the center of the east coast shaping an arc, and a coastal line around gangneung has a form extending northwestward and southeastward, respectively. Therefore, an inflow of the northerly has similar effects of the sea breeze since a deep valley of Daegwallyeong, which is one of main ridges of the Taebaek mountains, not only reaches northeastward up to this region but also plays the part of the steering gear changing a wind direction from northerly to easterly, this is, the wind from sea. First of all, the study had defined the sea breeze as a wind blown from NNE to ESE, clockwise. And then, we analyzed characteristics of the sea breeze occurred around gangneung in view of the maximum wind speed and the wind direction for October 1st, 2003 through September 30th, 2004, the upper air database for May through June of 2004, and the wind vector database of AWS (Automatic Weather System). All meteorological information is collected at the weather station of gangneung and by the AWS which is being scattered around this region. Finally, the study figures out that how horizontally long a sea breeze would be reached depends on a level of the easterly inflow. At the first step of the inflow of the sea breeze, the wind from NNW blows into this region by keeping up the speed $3m{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and effects of the northerly are dominated with time and the wind at the inland blows out southwestward cause of the surface friction at the next step. On the other hand, there is no change of wind direction in the inflow at Daegwallyeong because a surface friction of there is smaller than around gangneung, relatively. In other word, the easterly blows toward Daegwallyeong. However, the wind speed is not higher than that of the coast around gangneung.

  • Pesticide residues were monitored in agricultural products purchased at Gyeongin and Jeolla-do provinces. Total 245 pesticides were analysed by GC-MS and LC-MS/MS, and residual pesticides were detected in 70 samples (19.7%), with spinach and chard showing high detection frequency of 35%. Fifteen samples (4.2%) exceeded Korea Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), and 30 types of pesticides were detected in samples with azoxystrobin, procymidine, endosulfan showing considerably high frequencies in respectively 14, 13, and 13 samples. The amount of 11 pesticide including chlorpyrifos, indoxacarb among them were detected over Korea MRLs. No residual pesticides were detected in 285 (80.3%) samples, and residual pesticides levels of 55 samples (15.5%) were lower than Korea MRLs, indicating 95.8% samples were relatively safe.

  • We overview and discuss the IAU today from the viewpoint of its regions based on historical and statistical data, and consider the status and future of astronomy in the Asian-Pacific region. New activities of the IAU, the Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD) and the Office for Astronomy Outreach (OAO) for the future evolution of astronomy are introduced. We also review the recent developments in astronomy in the Asian-Pacific region, and emphasize the importance of regional cooperation and coordination for the future.

  • The purpose of this paper is to measure the productive efficiency and competitive strength of Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office using the DEA. Using EMS(Efficiency Measurement System) which is LP solver, quantifies in one way or another a "distance" to the efficient frontier of the technology. An input oriented measure quantifies the input reduction which is necessary to become efficient holding the output constant. Symmetrically, an output oriented measure quantifies the necessary to become efficient holding the inputs constant. A non-oriented measure quantifies necessary improvements when both inputs and outputs can be improved simultaneously. According to the analysis result of the DEA method, inefficient Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office should recommend benchmarking reference Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office in order to enhance the productive efficiency of port administration and a public institution. Besides data on productive efficiency serves as a tool for policy-makers at all levels of activity and is essential for improving the efficiency with which the various systems operate.
