변환기법을 이용한 공간 액세스 구조의 영역분할 전략 (A Region Splitting Strategy for Spatial Access Structures Using Transformation Techniques)

  • 물리적 데이터베이스 설계기법은 최적의 질의처리 성능을 제공하기 위하여 데이터베이스의 액세스 구조를 결정하는 과정이다. 본 논문에서는 변환기법을 이용한 공간 액세스 구조의 물리적 데이터베이스의 설계를 위한 영역분할 전략을 제시한다. 변환기법을 이용한 공간 액세스 구조는 원공간(original space)에서의 공간 객체들을 공간의 차원을 두 배로 하는 변환공간(transformation space)내의 점 객체들로 변환하여 관리하는 방법이다. 먼저, 원공간에 주어지는 모든 공간 질의가 변환공간에서는 한가지 형태의 범위 질의로 변환되는 특징이 있음을 보인다. 그리고, 변환공간상에서 이 범의 질의가 위치하는 질의 영역의 모양과 데이터 페이지가 위치하는 페이지 영역의 모양 사이의 관련성을 이용하여 질의처리의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 영역분할 전략을 제안한다. 성능평가의 결과에 의하면, 주어진 질의 패턴에 따라 최적의 공간 액세스 구조를 구성할 수 있었으며, 이차원 원공간에 대한 사차원 변환 공간인 경우에 질의의 형태에 따라 질의처리의 성능이 다섯배 이상까지 향상되었다.

  • BldD is one of a set of morphological differentiation regulators in Streptomyces coelicolor. The bldD coding region was cloned and heterologously expressed in Escherichia coli. Previous analysis showed the splitting appearance of purified BldD.

철근 콘크리트 부재의 인장강성 효과에 관한 연구 (Tension Stiffening Effect for Reinforced Concrete Members)

  • This paper presents tension stiffening effect of Reinforced concrete members obtained from experimental results on direct tension and bending. From the direct tension test program, crack patterns were investigated with tension softening behaviors of concrete. Tension stiffening effects and losses of strain energy were, also, analyzed from the load-deflection curve with the main experimental variables such as concrete strength, yielding stress and reinforcement ratio of rebar. Tension stiffening effect of RC members increase linearly until the first crack initiate, decrease inversely with number of cracks, and then decrease rapidly when splitting cracks are happened. The tension stiffening effect is shown to be more important at the member of lower reinforcement than that of higher. Therefore, it necessitates to consider the tension stiffening effects at a nonlinear analysis. From the above analysis, a tension stiffening model of concrete is proposed and verified by applying it to bending members. From the numerical analysis by finite element approach, it is shown that the proposed model evaluates a little higher in analyzing at nonlinear region of high strength concrete, but, perform satisfactorily in general.

  • Chromosome analysis is an important and difficult task for clinical diagnosis for mutagen dosimetry, and for biological research. It is expensive, time consuming and imprecise when performed manually. Efforts to automate some or all of the procedures have continued for more than 30 years, with only limited success. An acquiring sample from chromosome group is not solved with automatic method. It is still performed by user. This paper represents the method of an automatic chromosome sample extraction which based on region splitting, and scan converted method.

  • A two-dimensional Navier-Stokes code based on AUSMPW+ scheme has been developed to simulate the hypersonic flowfield of hypersonic shock-shock interaction. AUSMPW+ scheme is a new hybrid flux splitting scheme, which is improved by introducing pressure-based weight functions to eliminate the typical drawbacks of AUSM-type schemes, such as non-monotone pressure solutions. To study the real gas effects, three different gas models are taken into account in this paper: perfect gas, equilibrium flow and nonequilibrium flow. It has been investigated how each gas model influences on the peak surface loading, such as wall pressure and wall heat transfer, and unsteady flowfield structure in the region of shock-shock interaction. With the results, the value of peak pressure is not sensitive to the real gas effects nor to the wall catalyticity. However, the value of peak heat transfer rates is affected by the real gas effects and the wall catalyticity. The structure of the flowfield also changes drastically in the presence of real gas effects.

  • TIn this study, the counter-jet flows which designed for improvement of aerodynamic performance of the blunt body vehicle have been analyzed. The variations of the drag force and jet penetration depth due to changes in the stagnation properties of counter jet new such as total pressure, mach number, and total temperature. The counter jet flow, which is injected toward incoming supersonic freestream at stagnation region of blunt cone-cylinder vehicle, have been studied by using upwind flux difference splitting navier-stokes method. The changes in the stagnation pressure and Mach number resulted in large effects on the wall pressure and drag force, on the other hand tile total temperature changes did not.

  • The designer has difficulty due to inadequacy of provisions in the domestic design code and lack of understanding for behavior of D-region. The rectangular shaped corbel consist of various failure mechanisms as the crushing or splitting from compression concrete, and shearing failure under the loading plate. However, predicting those failure mechanisms is very difficult. In this study, rectangular shaped corbel is analyzed and designed by using strut-tie model. Adequacy for the application of strut-tie model is verified by comparison with the way used in current design practice. The results show that strut-tie model can be a rational and an economical design than current conventional design methods.

However, predicting those failure mechanisms is very difficult. In this study, the pi(${\pi}$)-shaped RC rahmen bridge is analyzed and designed by using strut-tie model. Adequacy for the application of strut-tie model is verified by comparison with the way used in current design practice. As a result that designing the structures should be maked a comparison between strut-tie model and current conventional design method.

Magnetic dependence of cyclotron resonance in the electron-piezoelectric phonon interacting materials

  • Based on quantum transport theory, we investigated theoretically the magnetic field dependence of the quantum optical transition of quasi 2-dimensional Landau splitting system, in CdS and ZnO Through the analysis of the current work, we found the increasing properties of the cyclotron resonance line-profiles (CRLPs) which show the absorption power and the cyclotron resonance line-widths (CRLWs) with the magnetic field in CdS and ZnO We also found that that CRLWs, γtotal(B) of CdS < γtotal(B) of ZnO in the magnetic field region B < 15 Tesla.

Strength assessment of RC deep beams and corbels

  • The strut-and-tie method (STM) has been widely accepted and used as a rational approach for the design of disturbed regions ('D' regions) of reinforced concrete members such as in corbels and deep beams, where traditional flexure theory does not apply. This paper evaluates the applicability of the equilibrium based STM in strength predictions of deep beams (with rectangular and circular cross-section) and corbels using the available experiments in literature. STM is found to give fairly good results for corbel and deep beams. The failure modes of these deep members are also studied, and an optimum amount of distribution reinforcement is suggested to eliminate the premature diagonal splitting failure. A comparison with existing empirical and semi empirical methods also show that STM gives more reliable results. The nonlinear finite element analysis (NLFEA) of 50 deep beams and 20 corbels could capture the complete behaviour of deep members including crack pattern, failure load and failure load accurately.
