  • Biphenyl dimethyl dicarboxylate (DDB) has been used for the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis B and drug-induced hepatitis through the inhibition of lipid peroxidation and c ovalent binding of drug metabolites to lipids of microsomes. The bioequivalence of two DDB products was evaluated according to the guidelines of KFDA. The test product was Hepaphil soft capsule(R) made by KMS Pharm. Co. Containing 3 mg DDB and the reference product was Nissel tablet(R) made by Taerim Pharm. Co. Containing 25 mg DDB. Twenty healthy male subjects, 25.4(22~30) years old and 66.7(54~77)kg, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After two tablets or two capsules were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of DDB in plasma was determined using a validated HPLC method with UV detector. Two pharmacokinetic parameters, $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$, were calculated and analyzed statistically for the evaluation of bioequivalence of the two products. Analysis of variance was carried out using logarithmically transformed parameter values. The 90% confidence intervals of $AUC_t$ and $C_{max}$ were log 0.91~log1.00 and log 1.05~log 1.15, respectively. These values were within the acceptable bioequivalence intervals of log 0.8 to log 1.25. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating that Hepaphil soft capsule is bioequivalent to Nissel tablet.

  • The bioequivalence of two nicotine patches was evaluated in 16 normal male volunteers (age 21 ~ 27 yrs) following single transdermal application. Test product was "Nicostop patch" made by Sam Yang Co. and reference product was "Nicotinell TTS patch" made by Korean Searle Ciba-Geigy Co. After nicotine patches were applied onto the inside of the forearm, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the nicotine concentration in plasma was determined with a sensitive GC method using NPD detector. AUC and Cm\ulcorner were calculated and statistically analyzed for the bioequivalence of the two products. The results showed that the differences in AUC and $C_{msx}$between two products were 5.47% and 2.70%, respectively. The powers (1-$\beta$) for AUC and $C_{max}$. were >90% and 88.76%, respectively. Detectable differences($\Delta$) and confidence intervals were all less than 20%. All of these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that "Nicostop patch" is bioequivalent to "Nicotinell TTS patch" . . .

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a brassiere sizing chart for elderly women. It is found that there is no direct linear relationship between cup size and under bust girth from the analsis of breast measurements. These 2 factors(under bust girth and cup size) were chosen as 2 axes of brassiere size chart. A loss function was used to determined intervals of bust girth and cup size of size chart, because the loss function introduces the concept of frequency to size chart for better customer's satisfaction. From the dual distribution table whose intervals had been determinde by a loss function. The 15 sizes, which had more than 2% of appearance were suggested for brassiere size chart. The suggested brassierc sizes covened 87.6% of all subjects. Considering that KS brassiere size thart consisting of 32 sizes covers 88.5%, the suggested brassiere size chart would be considered quite feasible. Also is suggested supply reference measurement chart relevant to brassiere manufacturing for 10 most frequent sizes.

  • A realization for image searching engine with moving objects identification and classification is presented in this paper. The identification algorithm is applied to extract difference image between input image and the reference image, and the classification is used the region segmentation. That is made the database for the searching engine. The experimental result of the realized system enables to search for human and animal at time intervals to use a surveillant system at inside environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest sizing chart for a clean room wear. 3 control dimensions(Stature, Bust girth, B.N.P.∼Wrist point length) were chosen as 3 axes of clean room wear size chart. A loss function was used to determined intervals of stature, Bust girth and B.N.P.∼Wrist point length of size chart, because the loss function introduces the concept of frequency to size chart for better customer's size satisfaction. From the size table whose intervals had been determined by a loss function. The 4 sizes individually were suggested for clean room wear size chart by sex. The 3 sizes individually were suggested for clean room head cover size chart by sex too. The suggested size chart would be considered more feasible than present size chart. Also they are suggested supply reference measurement chart relevant to clean room wear manufacturing for 13 most frequent sizes.

  • Recently, the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements (ENCODE) Analysis Working Group converted data from ChIP-seq analyses from the Broad Histone track into 15 corresponding chromatic maps that label sequences with different kinds of histone modifications in promoter regions. Here, we publish a frequency profile of the three ChromHMM promoter states, at 200-bp intervals, with particular reference to the existence of sequence patterns of promoter elements, GC-richness, and transcription starting sites. Through detailed and diligent analysis of promoter regions, researchers will be able to uncover new and significant information about transcription initiation and gene function.

  • Failure rate serves as a pivotal role in reliability study. Of all, the constant failure rate is the most popularly used in field exercises. In reality, however, the electrical and electronic parts' life is represented by not only the constant failure rate but the decreasing and/or increasing failure rates. Explicit consideration and incorporation of them into the model development may yield more desirable results. In this study, we built a reliability model for failure rates varying over time intervals and derived well known measures such as probability density function, reliability function, mean life, moments, and mission time. We then evaluated mean life with consideration of the first-year multiplier and compared the results those with constant failure rate. The results given in the study may provide a reference applying for practical decision making.

  • The bioequivalence of two omeprazole preparations was evaluated following their oral administration to 16 normal volunteers. The test product was 'Ulpro tablet' made by Boryung Pharmaceutical Co. and the reference was 'Losec capsule' made by Yuhan Corp. After one capsule or tablet containing 20 mg omeprazole was administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentration of the drug in plasma was determined with an HPLC method. AUC and $C_{max}$ were determined and analyzed statistically for the evaluation of bioequivalence of the two products. The differences in AUC and $C_max$ between two products were $0.45\%\;and\;2.83\%$, respectively. The powers for AUC and $C_{max}\;were\;89.2\%\;and\;>90\%$, respectively. Confidence intervals were within $20\%$ for AVC and $C_{max}$All of these parameters met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that 'Ulpro tablet' is bioequivalent to 'Losee capsule.'

  • It is very difficult to apply stream flow data directly to the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads because there are some differences between the unit watershed and the stream flow monitoring network in their characteristics such as monitoring locations and its intervals. Flow duration curve can be developed by linking the daily flow data of stream monitoring network to 8 day interval flow data of the unit watershed. This study investigated the current operating conditions of the stream flow monitoring network and the flow relationships between the unit watershed and the stream flow monitoring network. Criteria such as missing and zero value data, and correlation coefficients were applied to select the stream flow reference sites. The reference sites were selected in 112 areas out of 142 unit watersheds in 4 river basins, where the stream flow observations were carried out in relatively normal operating conditions. These reference sites could be utilized in various ways such as flow variation analysis, flow duration curve development and so on for the management of Total Maximum Daily Loads.
