  • The existing portable reference equipment for ITS systems performance evaluation has several limitations. First, it is difficult to set up and operate the equipment in the road section with the shoulder width equal to or smaller than 1.5m. Secondly, the crash with a car could lead to severe accident since it is big and heavy. Lastly, it cannot collect data from multiple lanes at a time. In this research the characteristics of the USN-based portable reference equipment developed to overcome shortcomings of the existing portable reference equipment were analyzed qualitatively and its performance level was evaluated through the field test. Consequently, the USN-based portable reference equipment turned out to overcome the operational shortcomings and satisfy the performance level required for the portable reference equipment.

  • The control scheme using fuzzy modeling and Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC) concept is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for the flexible joint manipulators with uncertain parameters. From Lyapunov stability analysis and simulation results, the developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop multi-input/multi-output system. In addition, the plant state tracks the state of the reference model asymptotically with time for any bounded reference input signal.

  • Purpose : To evaluate the stability of the segmental occlusal plane and anatomical line as the reference line for measuring the mesiodistal tooth angulation in panoramic radiography and to determine the mean angle and the range of the mesiodistal tooth angulation in Korean population with normal occlusions. Materials and Methods : Twenty nine subjects (15 men, 14 women) with normal occlusion were selected. A total of 29 panoramic radiograms were taken at normal head position and then 10 images of 5 subjects selected were repeatedly taken with repositioning 2 times at each of the head down (V-shaped occlusion) and up (horizontal occlusion) for evaluation of stability of adopted reference lines by using PM2002CC (Planmeca, Finland). The images were traced with adoption of two test reference lines and the long axes of the teeth. The mesial angles formed by each reference line and the long axes of the teeth were measured and analyzed. Results : With anatomical reference line, the mesiodistal tooth angulations of the molars showed the significant difference by over 5 degree between the normal and each changed head position. With segmented occlusal reference line, deviations of mesiodistal tooth angulations by the two changed head positions were less than 1 degree. The means, standard deviations, and maximum and minimum values of mesiodistal tooth angulations to segmental occlusal reference line on panoramic radiography were determined. Conclusion : It would appear that mesiodistal tooth angulations to segmental occlusal plane as reference line in panograms are predictable as standards of normal occlusion and useful for evaluation of tooth arrangement between adjacent teeth.

  • In this paper, it verifies site environment aspect that NDGPS (Nationwide Differential Global Positioning System) operated by MOF (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries) will be used as the same site of reference stations for SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System). In order to prove this feasibility, we analyze the site environment requirements for SBAS reference stations, as well as we establish the procedure for the verification of the site environment requirements. With this procedure of the site environment survey, we perform site survey in the real field and analyze the results. We select interim candidate sites for survey which currently operating 17 NDGPS reference stations. This paper could be utilized in the process of selection or installation of reference stations in the field of GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) and the drawing the consideration which NDGPS reference stations will be co-operated as SBAS reference stations.

  • The typical Differential Global Navigation Satellite System service of South Korea is the Ground Based Differential GNSS service. South Korea building the Satellite-Based Augmentation System for GNSS to expand the Differential GNSS service. The satellite-based differential GNSS serive is called the SBAS(Satellite Based Augmentation System). The SBAS reference station on ground should be installed to operate the SBAS service alike the ground based augmentation system. That SBAS reference station can be installed with ground based DGNSS reference station. To make the SBAS reference station combined with the ground based DGNSS reference station, DGNSS system should be connected to NovAtel's G-III receiver. In this paper, the DGNSS software reference station's software module architecture was changed and G-III interface module was designed to use the G-III receiver.

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the research trends on the digital libraries in Korea. To achieve this objective, a total of 578 author-assigned English keywords were collected from the 272 major LIS journal articles published in Korea during last ten years-period, i.e., 2007-2016. The collected data were analyzed using NetMiner V.4 to discover their 'degree centrality' and 'betweenness centrality'. As the results, 'Academic Library', 'Reference Service', 'Public Library', 'E Resource', and 'E Book' showed the most frequently conducted research topics, and 'Academic Library', 'Reference Service', 'Information Behavior', and 'E Resource' were the most influencing research topics. Finally, 'Academic Library', 'Metadata', 'Information Behavior', 'E Resource', and 'Librarian' seemed the most widely intervening research topics in this research.

  • As CBD technologies and researches have been matured, component framework as a larger reuse unit than component is being introduced. Especially issues related with adaptation and integration of components in CBD are being raised as a new research topic. The component framework is given as a solution to resolve these issues. However, current approaches don't suggest a sound and comprehensive reference model and development process applying reference model. In order to develop practical and stable component framework, reference model and concrete guidelines are essential elements. In this paper, we propose a generic reference model integrating existing reference models and a design technique of component framework based on it. Especially, we propose concrete and pragmatic guidelines such as how to design component framework architecture's view and style, how to design commonality and variability of component framework, how to design macro workflows among components, and so on. We believe that the proposed reference model becomes basis for component framework development, and the proposed design technique will support reliable and effective development of the component framework.

  • This paper describes the development or a closed-loop Strapdown Attitude Reference System (SARS) algorithm integrated filtering estimator for determining attitude reference for railway and aviation system using fuzzy inference. The SARS consists of 3 single-axis rate gyms in conjunction with 2 single-axis accelerometers. For optimal values of fuzzy systems, we utilize on-line scheduling method for initial values and then use genetic algorithms for fine tuning. Implementation using experimental test data of unmanned aerial vehicle has been performed in order to verify the estimation. The proposed fuzzy inference based SARS demonstrate that more accurate performance can be achieved in comparison with conventional one. The estimation results were compared with the on-board vertical gyro as the reference standard.

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this in vitro study was to assess whether scanning strategies of virtual interocclusal record (VIR) affect the accuracy of VIR during intraoral scanning. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Five pairs of reference cubes were added to the digital upper and lower dentitions of a volunteer, which were printed into resin casts. Subsequently, the resin casts were articulated in the maximal intercuspal position in a mechanical articulator and scanned with an industrial computed tomography system, of which the VIR was served as a reference VIR. The investigated VIR of the upper and lower jaws of the resin master cast were recorded with an intraoral scanner according to 9 designed scanning strategies. Then, the deviation between the investigated VIRs and reference VIR were analyzed, which were measured by the deviation of the distances of six selected reference points on the upper reference cubes in each digital cast to the XY-plane between the investigated VIRs and reference VIR. RESULTS. For the deviation in the right posterior dentitions, RP group (only scanning of right posterior dentitions) showed the smallest deviation. Besides, BP group (scanning of bilateral posterior dentitions) showed the smallest deviation in the left posterior dentitions. Moreover, LP group (scanning of left posterior dentitions) showed the smallest deviation in the anterior dentitions. For the deviation of full dental arches, BP group showed the smallest deviation. CONCLUSION. Different scanning strategies of VIR can influence the accuracy of alignment of virtual dental casts. Appropriate scanning strategies of VIR should be selected for different regions of interest and edentulous situations.
