Financial difficulties and claims frequently stop construction works and cause subsequent contract cancellations. However, as the criteria to assess costs have not been established, many cases of legal disputes over the assessment of cancellation costs are taking place and the concerned parties are suffering the loss of time and money. Therefore, the present research aimed at developing a rational and systematic model of cancellation cost assessment following the cancellation of contracts. The research was carried out in the following methods and scopes. 1 ) The research was focused on the assessment of fair cancellation costs from constructors' side for contracts cancelled by any causes for which the owners have liability. 2) To obtain basic materials about cancellation cost assessment methods, contracts, claims, contract cancellations and construction-related laws at home and abroad were examined. 3) A cost assessment model was developed for systematization and efficient operation of cancellation cost assessment, and the reliability and efficiency of the proposed model was verified through a case study. The conclusions drawn from the research are as follows. The importance of the cancellation cost assessment model was confirmed as, using the cancellation cost assessment model, direct cancellation cost and indirect cancellation cost could be assessed systematically, the number of disputable items could be reduced because reasonable evidences of actual spending were presented, and the loss of constructors could be minimized because systematic and rational cost assessment became possible for many disputable cases of indirect cancellation cost, which the constructors had been unable to prove so far though having spent.
Purpose: This study aims to develop a cost model for NRP (Nursing Residency Program) operation and ultimately provide evidence for financial factors for NRP operation in the future by simulating a cost model. Methodology: This study developed a model for the NRP education cost calculation model based on the review of Hansen's model, which has systematically reported on the development and operation of NRP, and discussions with nursing education experts at a university-affiliated hospital. With the simulation, it was intended to predict nurses' supply and demand in the long term and to calculate changes in long-term education costs. Findings: Firstly, turnover model, term model, cost model necessary for calculating a model for the NRP education cost calculation model was set up. Secondly, the simulation showed the following results; 1) the proportion of newly graduated nurses less than 5 years of working decreases gradually over time, which will make the composition of nurses more balanced. 2) In the first year of the partial introduction of NRP, the cost of training new nurses was about 2.1 times higher than before. After the introduction, the training cost in the 13th year began to be lesser than before the introduction, and in the 25th year, it decreased by 28.1% compared to before the introduction. Practical Implications: Firstly, NRP would be an effective way to solve the higher turnover and frequent departure of new nurses and the imbalance of nurses' composition. Secondly, although the costs of NRP are incurred in the early stages, in the end, NRP training costs are reduced compared to before the introduction of NRP. It is necessary to systematically understand the contribution effect of NRP by analyzing the economic value of NRP considering financial and non-monetary returns in the future and providing a basis for decision-making related to NRP implementation.
Lipase is a well-known and highly in-demand enzyme. During the last decade, several lipase optimization studies have been reported. However, production costs have always been a bottleneck for commercial-scale microbial enzyme production. This research aimed to optimize the conditions for lipase production by Limtongozyma siamensis DMKU-WBL1-3 via a One-Factor-At-a-Time (OFAT) approach combined with statistical methods while using a low-cost substrate. Results suggest that low-cost substrates can be substituted for all media components. An optimal medium was found, using response surface methodology (RSM) and central composite design (CCD), to consist of 0.50% (w/v) sweet whey, 0.40% (w/v) yeast extract (food grade), and 2.50% (v/v) palm oil with the medium pH adjusted to 4 under shaking flask cultivation. From an economic point of view, this work was successful in reducing production costs while increasing lipase productivity. The medium costs were reduced by 87.5% of the original cost while lipase activity was increased by nearly 6-fold. Moreover, lipase production was further studied in a 2-L stirred-tank fermentor. Its activity was 1,055.6 ± 0.0 U/ml when aeration and agitation rates were adjusted to 1 vvm and 170 rpm, respectively. Interestingly, under this optimal lipase production, the yeast showed accumulated lipids inside the cells. The primary fatty acid is a monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) that is typically linked to health benefits. This study hence reveals promising lipase production and lipid accumulation by L. siamensis DMKU-WBL1-3 that are worthy of further study.
The production of abalone seed has grown and been specialized since the 2000s with the growth of the abalone farming industry. Despite the increase in the production of abalone seeds, the sales volume of abalone seeds remained flat and competition among producers increased. This paper will analyze the management efficiency of abalone seed production fishery to diagnose the management status and improve the abalone seed production efficiency. In addition, this study is the result of the basic research on the abalone seed industry and it is meaningful to prepare a platform for further research since the management status survey and the management efficiency survey of abalone seed production fishery have not been conducted until now. The data on the farmed fish prices of abalone seeds were collected from surveys of sample fish as part of the fish seed observation project conducted by the Fisheries Outlook Center (FOC) of Korea Maritime and Fisheries Development Institute (KMI). Management efficiency analysis utilizes DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model. The DEA model was analyzed by classifying into CCR (Super-CCR), BCC, and SBM (Super-SBM) models according to the assumptions taking into account the characteristics of the industry. The slack considered in the SBM model was judged as possible decreases in input variables and increase in output variables. The average efficiency from the CCR model was analyzed to be 69%. The BCC model was classified into input and output orientations, and the average efficiency was 79% and 75%, respectively. There were seven production fisheries with an SE value of 1 or more, which remained unchanged in terms of size and could be benchmarked. The average efficiency of the SBM model was 59% for CRS and 66% for VRS. Under the VRS assumptions, the variable increase/decrease efficiency analysis shows that labor costs can be reduced by 37.3%, facility capacity by 18.8%, and operating costs by 8.5%. In order to improve management efficiency, Wando needs to reduce labor and management costs. In Jindo region, sales increase as well as labor cost reduction is urgent. In other regions, reduced facilities and increased sales are recommended.
Through processors, wholesale markets, intermediate sellers, and retailers, agricultural products have been distributed in a multi-level customary manner for a long time as they are easy to deteriorate and no not have a standardized system of size and quality. However, with the advancement of Internet networks and logistic services during the 2000s that facilitated the development of offline markets, and the rise of the non-contact purchase preference in direct response to COVID-19, previous offline consumers flowed into the online market to purchase agricultural goods. In other words, the volume of online agricultural transactions exploded since the pandemic. Against this social backdrop, this study focused on the difference in distribution costs as a result of converting from conventional offline distribution channels to online channels, and analyzed the reduced distribution costs through a case study of garlic sales on the online platform "H" shopping mall. The analysis found that considerable economic effects occurred, some of the effects being an approximate 39% decrease in distribution cost when comparing direct online transactions of the online shopping mall with other more traditional means, a reduced distribution cost rate of approximately 28%p, and increased profit for farmers.

In two feeding experiments male and mixed-sex broiler chicks were offered diets based on sorghum and a wheatsorghum blend with two tiers of nutrient specifications, without and with microbial phytase (600 and 800 FTU/kg), from 7-25 and 1-42 days post-hatch, respectively. The nutrient specifications for protein, amino acids, energy density and phosphorus (P) of standard diets were reduced to formulate the modified diets on a least-cost basis. Calculated differences in nutrient specifications between standard and modified diets ranged from 14.3 to 17.1 g/kg crude protein, 0.24 to 0.40 MJ/kg apparent metabolisable energy (AME) and 1.06 to 1.20 g/kg available P. In both experiments, reduced nutrient specifications had a negative impact on growth rates and feed efficiency and phytase supplementation had a positive influence on growth performance and protein efficiency ratios (PER). Phytase addition to the less expensive, modified diets either partially or entirely compensated for reduced growth performance and, consequently, feed costs per kg of live weight gain were reduced. In Experiment 1, phytase increased (p<0.001) nitrogen-corrected AME (AMEn) from 15.39 to 15.89 MJ/kg dry matter. For nitrogen (N) retention there was an interaction (p<0.05) between diet type and phytase as the effects of phytase on N retention were more pronounced in the modified diets, with an increase from 0.512 to 0.561. These results demonstrate the positive effects of phytase on protein and energy utilisation, in addition to its established liberation of phytate-bound P and illustrate the feasibility of assigning nutrient replacement values to the feed enzyme for consideration in least-cost ration formulations. Further work is, however, required to define the most appropriate reductions in nutrient specifications in association with phytase supplementation.
Reducing fishing capacity is one of current issues in the international fisheries. This is because that increased fishing capacity has caused not only fish stocks to be depleted, but also additional fishing costs to be incurred, which resulted in reduction of economically viability of fisheries. For this reason, FAO adopted the International Plan of Action for the Management of Fishing Capacity' in 1999 and recommended member countries to estimate fishing capacity and to implement the policy to reduce fishing capacity. This study is aimed to measure fishing capacity of the Large Purse Seines Fishery that is one of offshore fisheries in Korea using both Peak - to - Peak Analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis in order to provide a policy information for preparation of domestic plan of action for the management of fishing capacity. The results of PTP Analysis were almost similar to those of DEA Analysis. The DEA results showed that the capacity utilization in 2004 was about 75%, it was obvious the capacity did not utilize enough. The sensitivity analysis on DEA results indicated that 24% of the number of ships, 26% of the tonnages, or 29% of the horse powers should be reduced if the present catch remained. In addition, if the catch remains at the MSY base level of large purse seines, the analysis suggested that the number of ships, tonnages and horse powers should be reduced by 15%, 18%, and 21% respectively.
As the system-on-chip (SoC) design becomes more complex, the test costs are increasing. One of the main obstacles of a test cost reduction is the limited number of test channels of the ATE while the number of pins in the design increases. To overcome this problem, a new test architecture using a channel sharing compliant with IEEE Standard 1149.1 and 1500 is proposed. It can significantly reduce the pin count for testing a SoC design. The test input data is transmitted using a test access mechanism composed of only input pins. A single test data output pin is used to measure the sink values. The experimental results show that the proposed architecture not only increases the number of sites to be tested simultaneously, but also reduces the test time. In addition, the yield loss owing to the proven contact problems can be reduced. Using the new architecture, it is possible to achieve a large test time and cost reduction for complex SoC designs with negligible design and test overheads.
Background : In order to recognize the problems of current Korean physical therapy which does not conform to the current trend of modern society and to suggest improvement directions, we will establish a law for exclusive use of physical therapy that can guarantee the health rights of the people and contribute to the development of Korean physical. Methods : Korea's current physiotherapy system is compared with OECD member countries and WCPT member countries, and considering the expected effects and necessities that arise when the sole law is enacted, the sole law for the global trend is presented. Result : If the sole law is enacted and the physical therapist is treated solely, the effect is as follows. 1. Provision of high-quality physiotherapy services through establishment of physical therapy expertise 2. Convenient service provision 3. Reduced treatment costs due to reduced National Health Insurance fiscal expenditure 4. contributing to the improvement of medical welfare for the elderly and the disabled 5. Decreased unemployment rate due to job creation.
In this paper, a new loopback BIST structure which is effective to test RF transceiver chip and LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) in the chip is presented. Because the presented BIST structure uses a baseband processor in the chip as a tester while the system is under testing mode, the developed test technique has an advantage of performing test application and test evaluation in effectiveness. The presented BIST structure can change high frequency test output signals to a low frequency signals which can make the CUT(circuits under test) tested easily. By using this technique, the necessity of RF test equipment can be mostly reduced. The test time and test cost of RF circuits can be cut down by using proposed BIST structure, and finally the total chip manufacturing costs can be reduced.
