Due to the strict requirements of emerging applications, per-flow admission control is gaining increasing importance. One way to implement per-flow admission control is using an onpath resource reservation protocol, where the admission decision is made hop-by-hop after a new flow request arrives at the network boundary. The next-steps in signaling (NSIS) working group of the Internet engineering task force (IETF) is standardising such an on-path signaling protocol. One of the reservation methods considered by NSIS is reduced-state mode, which, suiting the differentiated service (DiffServ) concept, only allows per-class states in interior nodes of a domain. Although there are clear benefits of not dealing with per-flow states in interior nodes-like scalability and low complexity-, without per-flow states the handling of re-routed flows, e.g., after a failure, is a demanding and highly non-trivial task. To be applied in carrier-grade networks, the protocol needs to be resilient in this situation. In this article, we will explain the consequences of a route failover to resource reservation protocols: Severe congestion and incorrect admission decisions due to outdated reservation states. We will set requirements that handling solutions need to fulfill, and we propose extensions to reduced-state protocols accordingly. We show with a set of simulated scenarios that with the given solutions reduced-state protocols can handle re-routed flows practically as fast and robust as stateful protocols.

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of supplementation of commercial phytase and ${\beta}-glucanase$ to wheat-soybean meal based layer diets. Control (17% CP) and reduced protein (13.5% CP) diets were compared with and without phytase and/or ${\beta}-glucanase$. Reducing dietary crude protein levels reduced the amount of N excreted by laying hens with no adverse affect on egg production or overall feed conversion ratio. There was, however, a slight reduction in average egg weight. When phytase was added to the control protein diets it was possible to reduce the level of dicalcium phosphate in the diet without a loss in performance and daily P output was reduced significantly. When phytase was added to the reduced protein diets, however, there was a dramatic loss in performance in the last four weeks of the study. Supplementation of ${\beta}-glucanase$ to wheat based layer diet did not appear to have beneficial affects in terms of laying performance and reducing nitrogen or phosphorus excretion. Combination of phytase and ${\beta}-glucanase$ had no positive effects on laying performance or reduction of DM, N and P.
The nascent thyroglobulin (Tg) multimer molecule, which is generated during the initial fate of Tg in ER, undergoes the rapid reductive depolymerization. In an attempt to determine the depolymerization process, various types of Tg multimers, which were generated from deoxycholate-treated/reduced Tg, partially unfolded Tg or partially unfolded/reduced Tg, were subjected to various GSH (reduced glutathione) reducing systems using protein disulfide isomerase (PDI), glutathione reductase (GR), glutaredoxin or thioredoxin reductase. The Tg multimers generated from deoxycholate-treated/reduced Tg were depolymerized readily by the PDI/GSH system, which is consistent with the reductase activity of PDI. The PDI/GSH-induced depolymerization of the Tg multimers, which were generated from either partially unfolded Tg or partially unfolded/reduced Tg, required the simultaneous inclusion of glutathione reductase, which is capable of reducing glutathionylated mixed disulfide (PSSG). This suggests that PSSG was generated during the Tg multimerization stage or its depolymerization stage. In particular, the thioredoxin/thioredoxin reductase system or glutaredoxin system was also effective in depolymerizing the Tg multimers generated from the unfolded Tg. Overall, under the net GSH condition, the depolymerization of Tg multimers might be mediated by PDI, which is assisted by other reductive enzymes, and the mechanism for depolymerizing the Tg multimers differs according to the type of Tg multimer containing different degrees and types of disulfide linkages.

A fault tolerant control system design technique has been proposed and analyzed for managing performance degradation in the presence of multiple faults in actuators. The method is based on a control structure with a model reference reconfigurable control design in an inner loop and command input adjustment in an outer loop. The reduced dynamic performance requirements in the presence of different actuator faults are accounted for through different performance reduced (degraded) reference models. The degraded steady-state performances are governed by the reduced levels of command input. The reconfigurable controller is designed on-line automatically in an explicit model reference control framework so that the dynamics of the closed-loop system follow that of the performance reduced reference model under each fault condition. The reduced command input level is determined to prevent potential actuator saturation. The proposed method has been evaluated and analyzed using an aircraft example against actuator faults subject to constraints on the magnitude and slew-rate of actuators.

A fully connected Artificial Neural Network (ANN) contains many connections. Compared to the pruned ANN with fewer connections, the fully connected ANN takes longer time to produce solutions end may not provide appropriate solutions to new unseen date. Therefore, by reducing the sloe of ANN, we can overcome the overfitting problem and increase the computing speed. In this research, we reduced the size of ANN by destroying the connections. In other words, we investigated the performance change of the reduced ANN by systematically destroying the connections. Then we found the acceptable level of connection-destruction on which the resulting ANN Performs as well as the original fully connected ANN. In the previous researches on the sloe reduction of ANN, the reduced ANN had to be retrained every time some connections were eliminated. Therefore, It tool lolly time to obtain the reduced ANN. In this research, however, we provide the acceptable level of connection-destruction according to the size of the fully connected ANN. Therefore, by applying the acceptable level of connection-destruction to the fully connected ANN without any retraining, the reduced ANN can be obtained efficiently.
In a preliminary screening of plant extracts for the antigastritic and antiulcer actions in rats, the methanol extracts of Taheebo showed positive activity in HCI . ethanol-induced gastric lesion. Among the systematic fractions of hexane, chloroform, butanol and water, the most potent $H_2O$ fraction reduced significantly HCI . ethanol-induced gastric lesion at the oral dose of 300 mg/kg. In pylorus ligated rats chloroform and butanol fraction showed decreases in the volume of gastric secretion and acid output of which effects were stronger in chloroform fraction. Further assays with hexane butanol and $H_2O$ fraction disclosed that it significantly suppressed the aspirin-induced ulcer. The butanol fraction reduced significantly acetic acid induced ulcer at the dose of 400 mg/kg. The butanol and $H_2O$ fraction reduced the malondialdehyde level in HCI . ethanol-induced gastric lesion. In pylorus ligated rats, chloroform and butanol fraction reduced the malondialdehyde level and in aspirin-induced ulcer, chloroform fraction reduced that levle. These results might suggest that the butanol and $H_2O$ fraction of Taheebo had inhibitory action in gastric lesion and ulceration through inhibition of gastric acid secretion and the decrease malondialdehyde level.
The objective of the present study was to develop cholesterol-reduced and phytosterol-supplemented mayonnaise using crosslinked $\beta$-cyclodextrin and examine its physicochemical and sensory attributes during 10 months of storage. The composition of cholesterol-reduced phytosterol-supplemented mayonnaise was similar to the control. The amount of cholesterol removed ranged from 90.67 to 92.47%. The TBA absorbance of the samples showed that the more phytosterol the sample contained, the lower the TBA absorbance value. The viscosity of cholesterol-reduced mayonnaise with 2.0% phytosterol decreased significantly during storage (p<0.05). The color changes of mayonnaise during storage showed a decrease in the L- and b-values, and an increase in the a-value. The experimental mayonnaise maintained emulsion stability, which was significantly lower in 2.0% phytosterol-supplemented mayonnaise. With regard to sensory attributes, most characteristics were similar to the control mayonnaise, however, the addition of phytosterol had a negative effect on stickiness and bitterness. These results indicate that the cholesterol-reduced and phytosterol-supplemented mayonnaise has decreased oxidation and maintains most of its physicochemical and sensory properties during storage.
Objectives The purpose of this case was to report significant improvement of abdominal pain, constipation and a slight improvement of tremor after treatment by Sasang Constitutional Medicine to the patient with Parkinson's disease. Methods The patient was diagnosed as Soyangin according to the result of Sasang constitutional diagnosis, and treated by Sasang constitutional medications and acupuncture. The progress was evaluated with the Global Assessment Scale (GAS).Results The abdominal pain was reduced from Numeric Rating Scale (NRS)9 to NRS1 and headache was reduced from NRS5 to NRS3. The tremor was reduced to GAS 10. Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) was reduced from 40 to 27. The difference of heat distribution between left and right side was reduced and the abdomen was more warmer on Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI).Conclusions Sasang constitutional medicine can be a solution for the non motor symptoms caused by Parkinson's disease.
Fate of the nascent thyrolglobulin (Tg) molecule is characterized by multimerization. To establish the formation of Tg multimers, the partially unfolded/reduced Tg or deoxycholate-treated/ reduced Tg was subjected to protein disulfide isomerase (PDI)-mediated multimerization. Oxidized glutathione/PDI-mediated formation of multimeric Tg forms, requiring at least an equivalent molar ratio of PDI/Tg monomer, decreased with increasing concentration of reduced glutathione (GSH), suggesting the oxidizing role of PDI. Additional support was obtained when PDI alone, at a PDI/Tg molar ratio of 0.3, expressed a rapid multimerization. Independently, the exposure of partially unfolded Tg to GSH resulted in Tg multimerization, enhanced by PDI, according to thiol-disulfide exchange. Though to a lower extent, a similar result was observed with the dimerization of deoxycholate-pretreated Tg monomer. Consequently, it is implied that intermolecular disulfide linkage may be facilitated at a limited region of unfolded Tg. In an attempt to examine the multimerization site, the cysteine residue-rich fragments of the Tg were subjected to GSH-induced multimerization; a 50 kDa fragment, containing three vicinal dithiols, was multimerized, while an N-terminal domain was not. Present results suggest that the oxidase as well as isomerase function of PDI may be involved in the multimerization of partially unfolded Tg or deoxycholate-treated Tg.

This study analyzes the effects of the three types of flexible work arrangements (part-time, flexitime, and reduced working hours for childcare) available in Korea on work-family conflict, facilitation, and job satisfaction for married working women ages 15-49. The study employs a panel analysis based on the first to the fourth data from the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women & Families (KLoWF). The major results are as follows. First, the availability of part-time jobs and reduced working hours to facilitate childcare is significantly related to work-family conflict for married women. If a married woman is employed in a part-time position or if reduced working hours for childcare are available, the conflict within the family caused by the job is reduced. Second, none of the three types of flexible work arrangements have a statistically significant influence on work-family facilitation for married women. Third, the availability of reduced working hours for childcare has a positive effect on the job satisfaction of married women. In conclusion, flexible working hours for women who are raising children are the main factor in reducing the negative effect of a job on a woman's family life as they contribute to work and family compatibility.
