The carbohydrate-binding module (CBM) is an important domain of most cellulases that plays a key role in the hydrolysis of cellulose. The neutral endoglucanase (EG1) gene was reconstructed. A redesigned endoglucanase, named EG2, was constructed with a CBM containing a linker from Corticium rolfsii (GenBank Accession No. D49448). The redesigned EG genes were expressed in Escherichia coli, and their characteristics are discussed. Results showed that the degradation of cellulose by EG2 was about double that by EG1. The specific activities of EG1 and EG2 were tested under optimal conditions, and EG2 had higher activity ($169.1{\pm}2.74$ U/mg) toward CMC-Na than did EG1 ($84.0{\pm}1.98$) in the process of cellulose degradation. The optimal pH and temperature, pH stability, and heat stability of EG1 and EG2 were similar. Results indicated that the CBM plays an essential role in the hydrolysis of cellulose. We can improve EG's catalytic power by adding the CBM from Corticium rolfsii.

본 연구에서 광섬유 브래그 격자 센서를 이용한 보행 진동 측정에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 보행 진동 측정 시스템의 민감도를 향상시키기 위하여 FBG Seismic sensor 부를 재설계하였다. 성인남성의 평균 걷는 주기 1.5~2.5 Hz를 설계목표인 외부가진 값으로 가정하고, FBG Seismic sensor 부의 1차 모드 고유진동수 값을 외부 가진 주파수 부근 값인 3.5 Hz를 갖도록 CATIA와 ABAQUS를 이용하여 설계하고 제작함으로써 기존의 보행 진동 측정 시스템과 대비하여 민감도를 약 15배 향상 시킬 수 있었고, 침입 감지 분야 적용에 적합함을 확인하였다.

전력사업자의 요청, 경제적인 요인 또는 기타 요인에 따라 기존 발전소의 설계개념 변경 없이 발전소의 전기출력을 증가 또는 감소시켜 발전소를 재설계하는 경우가 종종 있다. 이때 노심출력 및 전기출력을 변경시켜 재설계되는 발전소의 설비들의 가격을 예측할 경우, 시장에서 견적을 받을 환경이 아닐 경우에는 기존발전소 설비들의 가격에 비용보정계수(Cost Scaling Factor)를 적용하여 새로 설계되는 발전소 설비들에 비용들을 계산할 수 있다. 이에 미국의 DOE, EPRI, ABB, SWEC 기관들의 발전소 용량변경에 따른 비용보정계수를 검토하고, 그것을 국내 PWR 1000MWe, 1400MWe에 적용한 결과를 소개하고자 한다.

Whitehead's discussion of language is not to be found in any one book or article. It is interwoven with his discussion of many other questions. He was, however, greatly concerned with the problem of symbolism in general and the uses of language. He regards language, spoken or written, as an instrument devised by men to aid them in their adjustment to the environment in which they live Language is used for many specific purposes in the process of this adjustment. Words are employed not only to refer to data and to express emotions. They may be used also to record experiences, and thoughts about these experiences. Worts also function as instruments in the organization of experiences as they are considered in retrospect. Thus words free us from the bondage of the immediate. And Whitehead's theory of meaning is implicit in his discussion of the functions of language. According to him, the human mind is functioning symbolically when some components of its experience elicit consciousness, beliefs, emotions, and usages, respecting other components of its experiences. The former set of components are the 'symbols', and the latter set constitute the 'meaning' of the symbols. Whitehead points out that one word may have several meanings, i.e. refer to several different data. In order to understand, thus, the meaning to which a word refers, it is sometimes very important to appreciate the system of thought within which a person is operating. Further, Whitehead's discussion of language includes a number of cogent warning the deficiencies of language, and hence the need for great care in the use of words. In fact, language developed gradually. For the most part we have created words designed to deal with practical problems. Attention focuses on the prominent features in a situation, in particular the changing aspects of things. With reference to such data our words are relatively adequate. However, this issues in an unfortunate superficiality. The enduring, the subtle, the complex and the general aspects of the universe do not have adequate verbal representation. for this reason, Whitehead's position concerning the uses of language in speculative philosophy is stated with pungent directness. The uncritical trust in the adequacy of language is one of the main errors to which philosophy is liable. Since ordinary language does not do justice to the generalities, profundities and complexities of life, it is obvious that philosophy requires new words and phrases, or at least the revision of familiar words and phrases. Proceeding to develop the theme Whitehead contends that words and phrases must be stretched towards a generality foreign to their ordinary usage. In the same vein Whitehead refers to the need to realize that language which is the tool of philosophy needs to be redesigned just as in physical science available physical apparatus needs to be redesigned. But even these words and phrases, stretched or redesigned, are never completely adequate in philosophical speculations. They are, in his opinion, merely a great improvement over ordinary language or the language science, mathematics or symbolic logic.

최근 TOD에 대한 지속적인 효과를 기대하고 실제 도시계획 및 설계에 적용되고 있다. 그러나 그것의 효과를 정량적으로 평가할 방법에 대한 연구는 미미한 실정이다. 그래서 본 연구의 목적은 TOD의 차량 통행 감소 효과를 도시계획 단계에서 토지이용계획도를 기반으로 정량적으로 평가하는 방법을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 토지이용계획도에 포함된 정보를 네트워크로 변환하는 방법과 네트워크를 기반으로 이동발생량을 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 토지이용계획도의 도로망을 링크로, 도로의 교차점을 노드로 변환한다. 토지이용계획도에 포함된 구역의 면적과 구역별 높이는 인접노드에 가중치로 변환된다. 두 번째 단계에서는 네트워크상의 노드 간에 가중치에 비례한 빈도로 이동이 발생하는 것을 가정하여 이동발생량을 보행과 차량으로 구분하여 추정한다. 그다음 TOD를 본격적으로 적용하지 않은 도시를 대상으로 현재 도시와 TOD를 적용하여 재설계한 도시를 비교하여 TOD의 효과를 분석한다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 방법을 1997년 계획 당시 분당과 TOD를 적용하여 재설계한 가상 대안에 적용한 결과, 39.94% 정도의 차량 통행 감소 효과가 발생함을 확인하였다. 또한, TOD를 적용한 대안의 보행율이 2.39%로 현황보다 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

This paper deals with a design to improve operating characteristic of spoke type BLDC motor. The rotor and stator is redesigned as rounding teeth of stator and pole surface of rotor. Result, cogging torque is reduced greatly. The Finite Element Analysis(FEM) is used to characteristics. The Prototype has been manufacturing to confirmed the validity of the proposed technique.

통계청에서 매월 실시하는 주요 가구부문 경상조사에는 경제활동인구조사와 가계조사가 있다. 이 두 조사의 표본은 인구주택총조사 자료를 표본틀로하여 5년마다 개편되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 2000년 인구주택총조사를 바탕으로 2002년에 실행한 표본개편에 관한 내용이다.

This paper presents a code generation method and an effective handling algorithm of ingeger constant multiplication for RISC machines in compiler design. As RISC Architectures usually use faster and more simply formed instructions than CISC's and most RISC processors do not have an integer multiplication instruction, it is required an effective algorithm to process integer multiplication. For the proposed code generator, Portable C Compiler(PCC) is redesigned to be suitable for an RISC machine, and composed an addition chain is built up to allow fast execution of constant multiplication, a part of integer one whicch appears very frequency in code generation phase.

본 연구에서는 5층 빌딩 구조물을 설계한 후, 개선된 능력스펙트럼법을 이용하여 구조물 전체 및 부재에 대한 성능평가를 수행하였으며 한계값을 초과한 부재에 대한 보강 설계를 수행함으로써 성능기반설계 절차를 확립한다.

In this paper, the transmitted noise reduction of smart panels of which passive piezoelectric shunt damping is used, is experimentally studied. Shunt damping experiments are based on the measured electrical impedance model. A passive shunt circuit composed of inductor, and load resistor is devised to dissipate the maximum energy into the joule heat energy For multi mode shunt damping, the shunt circuit is redesigned by adding a blocking circuit.
