In this paper, free vibration characteristics of functionally graded (FG) nanobeams embedded on elastic medium are investigated based on third order shear deformation (Reddy) beam theory by presenting a Navier type solution for the first time. The material properties of FG nanobeam are assumed to vary gradually along the thickness and are estimated through the power-law and Mori-Tanaka models. A two parameters elastic foundation including the linear Winkler springs along with the Pasternak shear layer is in contact with beam. The small scale effect is taken into consideration based on nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen. The nonlocal equations of motion are derived based on third order shear deformation beam theory through Hamilton's principle and they are solved applying analytical solution. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate frequency results of the FG nanobeams as compared to some cases in the literature. The obtained results are presented for the vibration analysis of the FG nanobeams such as the influences of foundation parameters, gradient index, nonlocal parameter and slenderness ratio in detail.
In the current study, the nonlinear impact of the Von-Kármán theory on the vibrational response of nonhomogeneous structures of functionally graded (FG) nano-scale tubes is investigated according to the nonlocal theory of strain gradient theory as well as high-order Reddy beam theory. The inhomogeneous distributions of temperature-dependent material consist of ceramic and metal phases in the radial direction of the tube structure, in which the thermal stresses are applied due to the temperature change in the thickness of the pipe structure. The general motion equations are derived based on the Hamilton principle, and eventually, the acquired equations are solved and modeled by the Meshless approach as well as a computer simulation via intelligent mathematical methodology. The attained results are helpful to dissect the stability of the MEMS and NEMS.
This paper analyzes nonlinear free vibration of the circular nano-tubes made of functionally graded materials in the framework of nonlocal strain gradient theory in conjunction with a refined higher order shear deformation beam model. The effective material properties of the tube related to the change of temperature are assumed to vary along the radius of tube based on the power law. The refined beam model is introduced which not only contains transverse shear deformation but also satisfies the stress boundary conditions where shear stress cancels each other out on the inner and outer surfaces. Moreover, it can degenerate the Euler beam model, the Timoshenko beam model and the Reddy beam model. By incorporating this model with Hamilton's principle, the nonlinear vibration equations are established. The equations, including a material length scale parameter as well as a nonlocal parameter, can describe the size-dependent in linear and nonlinear vibration of FGM nanotubes. Analytical solution is obtained by using a two-steps perturbation method. Several comparisons are performed to validate the present analysis. Eventually, the effects of various physical parameters on nonlinear and linear natural frequencies of FGM nanotubes are analyzed, such as inner radius, temperature, nonlocal parameter, strain gradient parameter, scale parameter ratio, slenderness ratio, volume indexes, different beam models.
In this paper, unified nonlocal shear deformation theory is proposed to study bending, buckling and free vibration of nanobeams. This theory is based on the assumption that the in-plane and transverse displacements consist of bending and shear components in which the bending components do not contribute toward shear forces and, likewise, the shear components do not contribute toward bending moments. In addition, this present model is capable of capturing both small scale effect and transverse shear deformation effects of nanobeams, and does not require shear correction factors. The equations of motion are derived from Hamilton's principle. Analytical solutions for the deflection, buckling load, and natural frequency are presented for a simply supported nanobeam, and the obtained results are compared with those predicted by the nonlocal Timoshenko beam theory and Reddy beam theories.
In this paper, buckling characteristics of nonhomogeneous functionally graded (FG) nanobeams embedded on elastic foundations are investigated based on third order shear deformation (Reddy) without using shear correction factors. Third-order shear deformation beam theory accounts for shear deformation effects by a parabolic variation of all displacements through the thickness, and verifies the stress-free boundary conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the FG nanobeam. A two parameters elastic foundation including the linear Winkler springs along with the Pasternak shear layer is in contact with beam in deformation, which acts in tension as well as in compression. The material properties of FG nanobeam are supposed to vary gradually along the thickness and are estimated through the power-law and Mori-Tanaka models. The small scale effect is taken into consideration based on nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen. Nonlocal equations of motion are derived through Hamilton's principle and they are solved applying analytical solution. Comparison between results of the present work and those available in literature shows the accuracy of this method. The obtained results are presented for the buckling analysis of the FG nanobeams such as the effects of foundation parameters, gradient index, nonlocal parameter and slenderness ratio in detail.
The purpose of the present work was to study the dynamic instability of a three-layered, symmetric sandwich beam subjected to a periodic axial load resting on nonlinear elastic foundation. A higher-order theory was used for analysis of sandwich beams with soft core on elastic foundations. In the higher-order theory, the Reddy's third-order theory was used for the face sheets and quadratic and cubic functions were assumed for transverse and in-plane displacements of the core, respectively. The elastic foundation was modeled as nonlinear's type. The dynamic instability regions and free vibration were investigated for simply supported conditions by Bolotin's method. The results showed that the responses of the dynamic instability of the system were influenced by the excitation frequency, the coefficients of foundation, the core thickness, the dynamic and static load factor. Comparison of the present results with the published results in the literature for the special case confirmed the accuracy of the proposed theory.
In this paper, the free and forced vibration analysis of rotating cantilever nanoscale cylindrical beams and tubes is investigated under the external dynamic load to examine the nonlocal effect. A couple of nonlocal strain gradient theories with different beams and tubes theories, involving the Euler-Bernoulli, Timoshenko, Reddy beam theory along with the higher-order tube theory, are assumed to the mathematic model of governing equations employing the Hamilton principle in order to derive the nonlocal governing equations related to the local and accurate nonlocal boundary conditions. The two-dimensional functional graded material (2D-FGM), made by the axially functionally graded (AFG) in conjunction with the porosity distribution in the radial direction, is considered material modeling. Finally, the derived Partial Differential Equations (PDE) are solved via a couple of the generalized differential quadrature element methods (GDQEM) with the Newmark-beta techniques for the time-dependent results. It is indicated that the boundary conditions equations play a crucial task in responding to nonlocal effects for the cantilever structures.

Dynamic behavior of temperature-dependent Reddy functionally graded (RFG) nanobeam subjected to thermomagnetic effects under the action of moving point load is carried out in the present work. Both symmetric and sigmoid functionally graded material distributions throughout the beam thickness are considered. To consider the significance of strain-stress gradient field, a material length scale parameter (LSP) is introduced while the significance of nonlocal elastic stress field is considered by introducing a nonlocal parameter (NP). In the framework of the nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), the dynamic equations of motion are derived through Hamilton's principle. Navier approach is employed to solve the resulting equations of motion of the functionally graded (FG) nanoscale beam. The developed model is verified and compared with the available previous results and good agreement is observed. Effects of through-thickness variation of FG material distribution, beam aspect ratio, temperature variation, and magnetic field as well as the size-dependent parameters on the dynamic behavior are investigated. Introduction of the magnetic effect creates a hardening effect; therefore, higher values of natural frequencies are obtained while smaller values of the transverse deflections are produced. The obtained results can be useful as reference solutions for future dynamic and control analysis of FG nanobeams reinforced nanocomposites under thermomagnetic effects.
The purpose of this paper is to study the geometrically nonlinear free vibration of functionally graded nano/micro beams (FGNBs) based on the modified couple stress theory. For practical applications, some analytical expressions of nonlinear frequencies for FGNBs on a nonlinear Pasternak foundation are developed. Hamilton's principle is employed to obtain nonlinear governing differential equations in the context of both Euler-Bernoulli and Timoshenko beam theories for a comprehensive investigation. The modified continuum theory contains one material length scale parameter to capture the size effect. The variation of two-constituent material along the thickness is modeled using Reddy's power-law. Also, the Mori-Tanaka method as an accurate homogenization technique is implemented to estimate the effective material properties of the FGNBs. The results are presented for both hinged-hinged and clamped-clamped boundary conditions. The nonlinear partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations using Galerkin method and then the powerful method of homotopy analysis is utilized to obtain the semi-analytical solutions. Eventually, the presented analytical expressions are used to examine the influences of the length scale parameter, material gradient index, and elastic foundation on the nonlinear free vibration of FGNBs.

In this research, the buckling and free vibration of three-phase carbon nanotubes/ fiber/ polymer piezoelectric nanocomposite face sheet sandwich microbeam with microsensor and micro-actuator surrounded in elastic foundation based on modified couple stress theory (MCST) is investigated. Three types of porous materials are considered for sandwich core. Higher order (Reddy) and sinusoidal shear deformation beam theories are employed for the displacement fields. Sinusoidal surface stress effects are extracted for sinusoidal shear deformation beam theory. The equations of motion are derived by Hamilton's principle and then the natural frequency and critical buckling load are obtained by Navier's type solution. The determined results are in good agreement with other literatures. The detailed numerical investigation for various parameters is performed for this microsensor-microactuator. The results reveal that the microsensor-microactuator enhanced by increasing of Skempton coefficient, carbon nanotubes diameter length to thickness ratio, small scale factor, elastic foundation, surface stress constants and reduction in porous coefficient, micro-actuator voltage and CNT weight fraction. The valuable results can be expedient for micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) and nano-electro-mechanical (NEMS) systems.
