CaWO4:Eu3+ 형광체의 합성과 발광 특성 (Synthesis and Photoluminescence Properties of CaWO4:Eu3+ Phosphors)

  • Red phosphors $Ca_{1-1.5x}WO_4:{Eu_x}^{3+}$ were synthesized with different concentrations of $Eu^{3+}$ ions by using a solid-state reaction method. The crystal structure of the red phosphors was found to be a tetragonal system. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results showed the (112) main diffraction peak centered at $2{\theta}=28.71^{\circ}$, and the size of crystalline particles exhibited an overall decreasing tendency according to the concentration of $Eu^{3+}$ ions. The excitation spectra of all the phosphors were composed of a broad band centered at 275 nm in the range of 230-310 nm due to $O^{2-}{\rightarrow}W^{6+}$ and a narrow band having a peak at 307 nm caused by $O^{2-}{\rightarrow}Eu^{3+}$. Also, the excitation spectrum presents several strong lines in the range of 305-420 nm, which are assigned to the 4f-4f transitions of the $Eu^{3+}$ ion. In the case of the emission spectrum, all the phosphor powders, irrespective of $Eu^{3+}$ ion concentration, indicated an orange emission peak at 594 nm and a strong red emission spectrum centered at 615 nm, with two weak lines at 648 and 700 nm. The highest red emission intensity occurred at x = 0.10 mol of Eu3+ ion concentration with an asymmetry ratio of 12.5. Especially, the presence of $Eu^{3+}$ in the $Ca_{1-1.5x}WO_4:{Eu_x}^{3+}$ shows very effective use of excitation energy in the range of 305-420 nm, and finally yields a strong emission of red light.

  • Quality evaluation of red ginsengs is determined by outer shape and inner qualities. Especially, the inner qualities are main grading criteria. Currently, red ginsengs are classified into 3-grades; heaven, earth and good. The best heaven grade must not include inner holes and sponge tissues. This study was conducted to develop a red ginseng sorting system using x-ray image processing technique. Because of lens characteristic, gray values of the central region in the x-ray image are higher and gradually decreased towards the edge regions. This difference of gray values gives trouble in segmentation and detection of inner holes in red ginseng image, so preprocessing technique is necessary. The preprocessing was done by subtracting source image from an empty background image. But, simple subtraction was not quite appropriate because of too small contrast between inner holes and sound part. Scaled subtraction images were obtained by multiplying all gray values by some numbers. However this method could not help to set threshold value because the gray values of root part are generally lower than body part when red ginseng is exposed to the x-ray. To determine threshold value for detecting inner holes, an algorithm was developed by increasing overall gray values of less clear images.

Improved methods for the preparation of $(Y_{1-x}Eu_x)_2O_3$:MX and $(Y_{1-x-y}Gd_xEu_y)_2O_3$:MX as red phosphor materials

  • Substantially improved methods for the preparation of europium-doped yttrium oxide red phosphor with the inclusion of alkali metal halides having a general formula $(Y_{1-x}Eu_x)_2O_3$:MX where 0.025${\leq}$x${\leq}$0.2 and MX is alkali halide in the mole ratio 0.025 to 0.6, more preferably between 0.05 to 0.2 mole, are reported. Another series of the red phosphor materials with general formula $(Y_{1-x-y}Gd_xEu_y)_2O_3$:MX where 0.05${\leq}$x${\leq}$0.40 and 0.025${\leq}$y${\leq}$0.20 and MX is alkali halide in the mole ratio 0.025 to 0.5, more preferably between 0.1 to 0.2 mole, has also been presented. The inclusion of alkali halide greatly increase the luminance of the materials. The materials are very soft with fine particle size less than 100nm. The phosphorescent materials have good luminance in VUV region.

홍삼 분말을 첨가한 냉동 쿠키의 제조 조건 최적화 (Optimization of Iced Cookie with the Addition of Dried Red Ginseng Powder)

  • This study was conducted to develop a optimal composite recipe of a functional cookie including Red Ginseng powder and having the high preference to all age groups. Wheat flour was partially substituted by Red Ginseng powder to reduce the content of wheat flour. The sensory optimal composite recipe was produced by making iced cookies, with 5 levels of Red Ginseng $powder(X_1),\;sugar(X_2),\;butter(X_3)$, respectively, by C.C.D(Central Composite Design) and by conducting the sensory evaluation and the instrumental analysis by Response Surface Methodology(RSM). The results of sensory evaluation showed very significant values in color, appearance, texture, overall quality(p<0.05), flavor(p<0.01) and those of instrumental analysis showed significant values in lightness, redness(p<0.05), spread ratio, hardness(p<0.01). As a result, sensory optimal ratio of Red Ginseng cookie was calculated at Red Ginseng powder 25.4 g, sugar 147.1 g, butter 153.4 g.

한국산 고추의 맛 성분함량과 관능적 선호도와의 상관관계 (Relationships between the Taste Components and Sensory Preference of Korean Red Peppers)

  • 한국산 고추의 맛성분 함량이 관능적 선호도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지를 알아보기 위하여 10품종의 건조고추의 capsaicinoid류와 유리당 및 유기산 함량을 측정하였고 고추가루 수용액에 대한 관능검사를 실시하여 그 결과를 성분분석 결과와 비교하였다. 총 capsaicin함량 범위는 $0.029{\sim}0.296%$를 나타내었고 유리당은 $8.45{\sim}15.21%$의 범위였으며 유기산은 $4.58{\sim}17.54$%$를 차지하였다. Capsaicinoid류, 특히 dihydrocapsaicin(r=+0.870)은 고추의 매운 맛과 높은 상관관계를 보였으나 전반적인 기호도와 유의적인 상관관계를 나타내지 않았다. 반면 fructose(r=+0.787), glucose(r=+0.814), 환원당(r=+0.805), 총당(r=+0.815)은 전반적인 기호도와 1%수준의 유의적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 총 유리당 함량$(X_1)$과 총 capsaicin함량$(X_2)$ 및 총 유기산 함량$(X_3)$을 다중회귀 분석을 한 경우 고추 수용액에 대한 전반적인 기호도(Y)와 높은 상관관계(R=0.9008)를 나타내었으며 그 상관 회귀식은 다음과 같다. $$Y=0.9808X_1-10.7526X_2-0.1664X_3-4.1147$$

(Sr1Ca)TiO3:Pr1Al 형광체의 제조와 발광특성 (Preparation and Luminescent Properties of (Sr1Ca)TiO3:Pr1Al Phosphors)

  • [ $Sr_xCa_{(1-x)}TiO_3$ ] red phosphors doped with Pr(0.13 mol%) and Al(0.23 mol%) were synthesized by solid state reaction method. Change of crystal structure occurred in $Sr_xCa_{(1-x)}TiO_3:Pr,Al$ phosphors with increasing value of x. Green and red luminescence were observed from $SrTiO_3:Pr,Al$ phosphors at low temperature. However, only red luminescence in the case of $CaTiO_3:Pr,Al$ phosphors was measured at low temperature. The main cause of green luminescence was explained by the bandgap reduction.

사람 혈소판으로부터 serotonin 방출반응 대한 홍삼의 물 추출물 및 petroleum ether 추출물의 억제 효과 (Inhibititory Effect of Water- or petroleum Ether-extract from Red Ginseng on Serotonin Release from Human Platelets (Comparative Study Between 6-year and 4-year Old of Red Ginseng))

  • It was founded that an X-compound is contained in extracts from the root of old red ginseng (6RG) compared with that from the root of 4-year old red ginseng(4RG). Both water extract and petroleum ether extract (PEII) from 6RG or 4RG inhibited the release of [$^{3}H$]-serotonin induced by platelet activating factor (PAF; 40 ng/ml). Water extract and PEll from 6RG Inhibited potently PAF-induced [$^{3}H$]-serotonin release compared with those from 4RG. X-compound out of both water extract and PEll from 6RG inhibited the release of [$^{3}H$]-serotonin inducted by collagen (100 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml) or thrombin(20 U/ml). X-compound had a synergistic effect with water extract from 4RG on collagen-and thrombin-induced [3H] -serotonin release out of human platelets. The concentration(IC50) of X-compound that require to inhibit 50% of [$^{3}H$]-serotonin-release was 3.25 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml, and it is inferred that maximum concentration of X-compound that inhibits the release of [$^{3}H$]-serotonin is 10 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml. Because thrombosis is resulted mainly from the irreversible aggregations which are intimately related with the serotonin release and migraine is also caused when serotonin is released, it is inferred that water extract, PEII and X-compound from 6RG have antithrombosis and antimigrainous functions by inhibiting the release of serotonin from human platelets.

강원도(江原道)소나무와 낙엽송(落葉松)의 수피율(樹皮率)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Bark Percentage of Red Pine (Pinus densiflora S & Z. Produced Kang Won Do) and Larch (Larix KaemPferi Sargent))

  • We studied on the bark Percentage of red pine (Pinus denssiflora S & Z) and tarch (Larix Kaemdferi sargent) and obtained the results as follows: (1) For diameter classes from 8 to 38 cm in red pine. the linear equation adopts the relation of the bark percentage to the diameter more accurately than the logarithmic equation. (2) The difference between the regression equation of the bark percentage between red pine and Larch is significant and the correlation cofficient in red Pine is high so that standard error of red Pine is lower than its value of Larch. We established, therefore the tables of bark percentage for each species by applying the following regression equations. red Pine Y=10.08205-0.08794x Larch Y=10.3527-0.17071x.

Cation Substitution Induced Enhanced Photoluminescence Properties of Gd2(1-x-y)Y2xMo4O15:2yEu3+ Phosphors for Indoor Lighting

  • We reported a new method to enhance the photoluminescence (PL) properties of $Eu^{3+}$ ions doped $Gd_2Mo_4O_{15}$ phosphors via cation substitution. With the aid of conventional sol-gel method, a series of $Eu^{3+}$ ions doped $Gd_{2(1-x)}Y_{2x}Mo_4O_{15}$ phosphors were prepared. The prepared samples emitted red light when excited at 393 nm. Moreover, when part of the $Gd^{3+}$ ions was substituted by the $Y^{3+}$ ions, the PL emission intensity of the studied samples was enhanced and the optimal doping concentration for $Y^{3+}$ ions was 30 mol%. The calculated CIE coordinate (0.663,0.337) was situated in the red region. Furthermore, the thermal quenching behaviors of the synthesized $Eu^{3+}$ ions doped $Gd_{2(1-x)}Y_{2x}Mo_4O_{15}$ phosphors were studied. At last, we also packaged a red-emitting light-emitting diode device by integrating the obtained phosphors and a near-ultraviolet chip to verify the applications of the $Eu^{3+}$ ions doped $Gd_{2(1-x)}Y_{2x}Mo_4O_{15}$ phosphors for indoor lighting.

안정화 CdS-CdSe계 채료에 관한 연구 제2보$ ZrSiO_4-Cd(S_xS_{1-x})$ 의 합성 (A Study on Stabilized CdS-CdSe Red Stain A Study on Zircon Cadmium Sulphoselenide Stain)

  • The synthetic conditions of $ ZrSiO_4-Cd(S_xS_{1-x})$ stains from CdS, Se, $SiO_2$ , 4ZrO_2$ and Lif were investigated and the colors were examined. Colors of the stains prepared were yellow orange red pink ruby and violet in relation to both the content of CdS-Se in $ZrSiO_4$ and firing temperature. Colors of these series stains were thermally stabilized probably by the structural stability of zirconium silicate. Furthermore by the result of X-ray diffraction analysis it is assumed that color of the zircon cadmium sulphoselenide $ ZrSiO_4-Cd(S_xS_{1-x})$ stain is developed by neither the coloring ions in $ZrSiO_4$ lattice nor the solid solution of $ZrSiO_4$ and $Cd(S_xS_{1-x})$ but by the small crystals of $Cd(S_xS_{1-x})$ being occluded by the zirconium silicate during sintering process.
