  • In this paper, linear discrete model of the electro-hydraulic servo system are made for parameters estimation. The parameters of electro-hydraulic servo system are estimated using the recursive least square method. Persistent excitation conditions are studied in order to estimate parameters of electro-hydraulic servo system to real values and parameters estimation affections are studied due to the forgetting factors variation. As the results, An parameter estimation method has been synthesized for minimizing the error between reference and error.

  • This paper develops a new Intelligent Electronic Device (IED), and then presents an application method of a monthly load forecasting algorithm on the smart IEDs. A Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) model implemented with Recursive Least Square (RLS) estimation is established in the algorithm. Case Study proves the accuracy and reliability of this algorithm and demonstrates the practical meanings through designed screens. The application method shows the general way to make use of IED's smart characteristics and thereby reveals a broad prospect of smart function realization in application.

Real- Time Estimation of the Ventricular Relaxation Time Constant

  • A new method for real-time estimating left ventricular relaxation time constant (T) from the left ventricular (LV) pressure waveform, based on the isovolumic relaxation model, is proposed. The presented method uses a recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm to accomplish real-time estimation. A new criterion to detect the end-point of the isovolumic relaxation period (IRP) for the estimation of T is also introduced, which is based on the pattern analysis of mean square errors between the original and reconstructed pressure waveforms. We have verified the performance of the new method in over 4,600 beats obtained from 70 patients. The results demonstrate that the proposed method provides more stable and reliable estimation of τ than the conventional 'off-line' methods.

  • In micro-scale electromechanical systems, the power to perform accurate position sensing often greatly exceeds the power needed to generate motion. This paper explores the implications of sampling rate and amplifier noise density selection on the performance of a system identification algorithm using a capacitive sensing circuit. Specific performance objectives are to minimize or limit convergence rate and power consumption to identify the dynamics of a rotary micro-stage. A rearrangement of the conventional recursive least-squares identification algorithm is performed to make operating cost an explicit function of sensor design parameters. It is observed that there is a strong dependence of convergence rate and error on the sampling rate, while energy dependence is driven by error that may be tolerated in the final identified parameters.

  • This paper presents a vehicle mass and road grade estimator for developing an automated bus. To consider the dynamic characteristics of a bus varying with the number of passengers, the longitudinal controller needs the estimation of the vehicle's mass and road grade in real-time and utilizes the information to adjust the control gains. Discrete Kalman filter is applied to estimate the time-varying road grade, and the recursive least squares algorithm is adopted to account for the constant mass estimation. After being implemented in MATLAB/Simulink, the estimators are evaluated with the dynamic model and experimental data of the target bus. The proposed estimators will be applied to complement the algorithm of the longitudinal controller and proceed with algorithm verification.

Reconstruction of High-Resolution Facial Image Based on A Recursive Error Back-Projection

  • This paper proposes a new reconstruction method of high-resolution facial image from a low-resolution facial image based on a recursive error back-projection of top-down machine learning. A face is represented by a linear combination of prototypes of shape and texture. With the shape and texture information about the pixels in a given low-resolution facial image, we can estimate optimal coefficients for a linear combination of prototypes of shape and those of texture by solving least square minimization. Then high-resolution facial image can be obtained by using the optimal coefficients for linear combination of the high-resolution prototypes, In addition to, a recursive error back-projection is applied to improve the accuracy of synthesized high-resolution facial image. The encouraging results of the proposed method show that our method can be used to improve the performance of the face recognition by applying our method to reconstruct high-resolution facial images from low-resolution one captured at a distance.

  • 본 연구에서는 RLS(Rescursive Least Square) 추정 알고리즘을 이용하여 정전용량형 센서를 사용한 원격 RF 센서 시스템을 구현하고자 한다. IC 칩 형태의 원격 RF 센서 시스템이 가지는 구성의 복잡성 그리고 전력소모 문제를 해결하기 위해 보다 간단한 유도결합모델이 제안된다. 원격 RF 시스템은 페이저법을 이용하여 수학적으로 모델링되며, 모델기반의 RLS 알고리즘을 적용하기위해 시스템의 파라메타를 재배열한다. 오차 제곱합의 수렴특성을 가진 RLS 알고리즘을 이용하여 정전용량 파라메타를 추정한다. 실제 위상차를 측정하기 위해 Exclusive OR를 이용한 위상차 감지 장치를 제안한다. 센서로는 각종 환경 측정-습도, 압력 등-에 실제 활용되고 있는 정전용량형 센서를 채택한다. 잡음을 내포한 측정 데이터에 대한 추정 성능을 확인함으로써 그 유효성을 검증하고자 한다.

Estimation of structure system input force using the inverse fuzzy estimator

  • This study proposes an inverse estimation method for the input forces of a fixed beam structural system. The estimator includes the fuzzy Kalman Filter (FKF) technology and the fuzzy weighted recursive least square method (FWRLSM). In the estimation method, the effective estimator are accelerated and weighted by the fuzzy accelerating and weighting factors proposed based on the fuzzy logic inference system. By directly synthesizing the robust filter technology with the estimator, this study presents an efficient robust forgetting zone, which is capable of providing a reasonable trade-off between the tracking capability and the flexibility against noises. The period input of the fixed beam structure system can be effectively estimated by using this method to promote the reliability of the dynamic performance analysis. The simulation results are compared by alternating between the constant and adaptive and fuzzy weighting factors. The results demonstrate that the application of the presented method to the fixed beam structure system is successful.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 적응필터인 LMS(Least Mean Square)와 RLS(Recursive Least Square)의 수렴속도의 향상과 안정성을 개선하기 위한 방안을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 기존의 시간영역 LMS 알고리즘보다 상당히 빠른 수렴속도를 보일 수 있도록 설계하였다. RLS 알고리즘는 역행렬연산으로 인한 연산량이 많고 자기상관행렬이 positive definite 특성을 잃어버릴 경우 시스템이 수치적으로 불안정하게 되어 발산하는 단점이 있다. 이런한 단점을 보완하기 위해 제안된 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 기존의 알고리즘은 전력 정규화 과정에서 입력신호의 변환이 백색화가 완전히 이루어지지 않게 되어 자기상관행렬이 순수한 대각행렬이 되지 않는 단점을 지니고 있으나, 본 연구에서는 이러한 대각화 과정에서 좀더 많은 정보를 포함하도록 설계하였다. 아울러 제안된 알고리즘을 적응 등화기에 적용하여 수렴속도가 개선됨을 검증하였다.

지속여기 조건이 없는 강인한 자조 안정기 (Robust Self-Tuning Regulator without Persistent Excitation)

  • The lack of persistent excitation (PE) can be the reason of freezing in the recursive least square estimators and the covariance windup in the exponential weighted least square estimators. We present a theoretical analysis of these phenomena and a simple method to check the exciting condition in real time. Using these results and under some conditions such as slowly time varying Plant and a tracking problem for set point, a robust self-tuning regulators without PE is proposed. In this algorithm, when PE is not satisfied, only plant gain is estimated, and then the system parameters are corrected by it. It is shown that the gain adaptive scheme makes the robustness to be improved against modeling error, off-set, and correlated noise etc, by the results of analysis and simulations.
