A Study on the Position Detection Device for a Hybrid Type Linear Pulse Motor (HB형 LPM의 위치검출장치에 관한 기초연구)

  • In recent years, as the electonic industry has become more advanced, the LPM(Linear Pulse Motor) has appeared in a wide range of applications because of easier control, operation by open-loop control, high positioning accuracy, and retrieval of position or velocity data by the input pulses. In this study, we deal with the development of a position detection device attached to a hybrid LPM in our laboratory. Precise position detection signals could be sensed by the synchronous rectifier method from the LPM stator scale. In addition, we can keep the amplitude constant by using an AGC(Automatic Gain Control) circuit. Experimental results show that the position data is good enough to perform the LPM position control.

  • Application of matrix converter to vector control of induction motor using simplified Venturini algorithm which is capable of achieving the maximum output voltage is developed. This algorithm simplifies the control algorithm and therefor reduces the digital implementation time. Matrix converter is used as voltage-referenced voltage fed vector controlled induction motor drive. This paper describes the performance of vector controlled induction motor with four quadrant capability employing a matrix converter power circuit. The advantage of this system over the conventional rectifier-inverter arrangement are capability for regeneration into the utility, sinusoidal supply currents and minimum passive components. The steady-state and transient performance of the induction motor drive under the vector control technique is demonstrate with simulation and experiment results.

  • The PWM control technique is proposed which can eliminate the harmonic components of the nonsinusoidal ac line current such as the current of 6-phase rectifier by injecting PWM current. TSC(Time-Sharing Control) is adopted to avoid the unbalance between three PWM injection currents at the three-phase system. Also a new power circuit for three-phase filter is suggested for realizing the proposed PWM control technique. The operation characteristics are investigated theoretically and experimentally to show the feasibility of the optimized injection method.

  • 본 논문에서는 자기공진형 무선전력전송 시스템에서 정류 회로부를 포함하여 시스템의 특징을 해석하였다. 비선형소자가 포함된 정류단을 해석하여 등가 저항으로 모델링하는 방법을 제시하고 이를 통해 시스템의 입력 임피던스를 유도하였다. 또한 정류단에 연결된 부하로 전달되는 출력 전류를 계산하여 전체 시스템의 입출력 전력과 전력효율을 쉽게 얻을 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, prototype high-power-factor single-stage electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps is designed and implemented. A new low cost single stage high power factor electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps is based on integration of two-boost converter and LC type high frequency resonant converter. A ballast is obtained by simple construction, because full bridge rectifier diode is eliminated and simple control circuit is applied. Using two boost converter operating positive and negative half cycle respectively at line frequency (60Hz), operation in discontinuous conduction mode performs high power factor. The experimental results Show the good performance as PF 0.99, $A_{THD}$ 15.4%, and CF 1.65 at Output 63.5W.W.

  • This paper describes a new inverter active inverter between a photovoltaic(PV) array and single-phase utility that avoid the bulky input(60Hz) transformer on the AC side. The interface employs a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm boost converter on the DC side followed by a pwm current-forced single-phase rectifier for injecting the power from the PV array into the mains. The current waveform at the AC side remains sinusoidal and exactly in phase at all time. The circuit also has the advantage of requiring fewer switching device than high-frequency link system. This paper describes modeling of PV array and new system topology. Simulation results on the performance of the connection are also presented.

A New Soft Switching Step-Down/Up Converter with Inherent PFC Performance

  • In this paper a new buck-boost type DC-DC converter is presented. Its voltage gain is positive, all active elements operate under soft-switching condition independent of loading, magnetic isolation and self output short-circuit protection exist, and very fast dynamic operation is achievable by a simple bang-bang controller. This converter also exhibits appropriate PFC characteristics since its input current is inherently proportional to the source voltage. When the voltage source is off-line, it is sufficient to add an inductor after the rectifier, then near unity power factor is achievable. All essential guidelines to design the converter as a DC-DC and a PFC regulator are presented. Simulation and experimental results verify the developed theoretical analysis.

  • This paper proposes a distribution voltage control method when a voltage increase condition occurs due to reverse power flow from the clustered photovoltaic (PV) system. This proposed distribution voltage control is performed a by distribution-unified power flow controller (D-UPFC). D-UPFC consists of a hi-directional ac-ac converter and transformer. It does not use any energy storage component or rectifier circuit, but it directly converts ac to ac. The distribution model and D-UPFC voltage control using the ATP-EMTP program were simulated and the results show the voltage increase control in the distribution system.

  • 변압기 기계적 손상의 주요 원인은 단락전류에 의해 발생하는 전자기력이다. 상용 변압기는 특정 수준의 기계적 강도를 견디게 설계 되어야 하며 단락전류에 의한 변압기 특성 변화를 검증하기 위한 단락성능시험은 국제 표준에 따라 시행되어야 한다. ITER CS 3상 정류기 변압기의 단락시험은 IEC 표준에 따라 전기연구원에서 시행되었으며 그 결과를 본 논문에서 소개하고자 한다.

  • The three-phase full(6-pulse) bridge controlled rectifier is one of the most widely used types of solid-state converters in DC drive applications for higher performance. In most of the previous designs gate control circuits of the converter have been designed with analog method, whitch can be easily affected by noise. In this study microprocessor and pheripal LSIs are used for eliminating these problems and successful results have been obtained.
