The purpose of the present research is to study the recreational use of German Nature Parks with comparing the Korean Recreational Forests. They were studied because both were not only founded for nature protection, but also for recreational use. The recreational offerings of German Nature Parks and Korean Recreational Forests found to reflect the expectations of their recreation users. Therefore the recreational uses of both countries will be recognized throughout this study. To review recreational offerings, services and infrastructure, a complete search of all German Nature Parks and Korean Recreational Forests was conducted. In summary, there were very good and varied activities that posed few demands on German Nature Parks. Some broad and very good offerings could be identified in the form of environmental education programs as well as many different kinds of services and infrastructure. Korean Recreational Forests were characterized by passive activities having few environmental education programs with only simple tour themes. The reason for this condition was that there were fewer holiday periods in Korea than in Germany and the conurbation life style in Korea, due to geological conditions, has led to less experience with nature.
Recent economic and income growth in Korea has caused people to seek healthier and happier lives. Forests are seen as spaces that provide tourism and recreation. The Korea forest service and local governments are developing and designating recreational forests but previous studies on the subject have only covered customer satisfaction and how forests are used. As such, the current study aims to find issues with designation criteria for recreational forests used by Gwangju city in Gyeonggi province and suggest improvements to the system. Site E was deemed the most adequate in evaluations of five candidate site. The criteria used in the evaluations were problematic due to (1) a lack of differentiating power in evaluation items, (2) blanket coverage of score ranges, (3) a lack of additional points for special sites, and (4) unclear evaluation indices. Based on the identified issues, the current study suggests introducing additional points and clearly detailing evaluation indices and items to enhance the evaluation of recreational forest candidate sites.
The objective of this study was to identify and evaluate indicators which offer the significant influence on recreationists' experiences. Delphi survey technique with a panel of professionals was employed to collect data for this study. The Delphi process was designed with three round questionnaires. The identified indicators in this study should be basic information for Benefit-Based Management (BBM) Model for forest recreation areas. A list of 38 indicators relating to physical/biological, managerial and social components of recreation experiences submitted from three round questionnaires. From the results, indicators included in physical/biological category suggested as more important ones than other categories of indicators.
The purpose of this study was to develop the strategy on activation of village by forest healing. Researcher conducted the questionnaire survey for forest healing village development to classify the mountain's characteristics by the three factors(linkage resource, program, facilities). In result, village characteristics were divided into two types: single element outstanding type(resource), complex element outstanding type(resource+program, resource+facilities). The development of forest healing village have to focused on the forest healing service recipient and mountain village characteristics. In conclusion, relationship between forest healing recipient and mountain characteristics was as follows: single type (resource) - public; complex type (resource+program) - chronic disease, social vulnerable people; complex type (resource+facilities) - severe disease. The detailed guideline for forest healing village needs to be established according to the mountain characteristics.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for developing effective forest healing programs for retirees by identifying their characteristics and preferences. A survey was conducted on demographic characteristics, overall perceptions of forest healing, and preferences for forest healing programs, targeting a total of 258 retirees visiting a natural recreation forest and a healing forest. The results of the survey suggested that the awareness of the forest treatment program and the hope of participating in it were both high, but the experience of participating in the program was low. Among the forest healing programs, the order of preference was "Breath in the forest", "Wind bathing and sunbathing", and "Feeling negative ions in the valley". Based on these results, it is expected that the forest healing program for retirees will be used as basic data for development of such programs in the future.
Recently the Korean government provided forest recreation areas through developing evaluation index of rural areas amenity resources, forest therapy and recreational forest for revitalization of rural areas and national health promotion. However, what the public wants is just one place which includes all recreational facilities. GRAT tourism means Green, Rest and Therapy-Tourism. It is a new concept of recreational forests. This study defines GRAT-Tourism, the new concept of recreational activity and discusses the development of the GRAT-Tourism Evaluation Index.

This study was carried out to provide the basic information for efficient protection management of natural recreation forest in addition to providing ecological information by analysing the vascular plants in Ohdosan natural recreation forest, and conducted from September 2016 to June 2017. This study showed that the area had a total 295 taxa including 86 families, 192 genuses, 255 species, 3 subspecies, 32 variants 6 forms and the ratio of genus/family was 1.5. Korea endemic plants were 10 taxa including Aconitum austrokoreense and A. pseudolaeve. Rare plants designated by Korea Forest Service were 6 taxa including Aconitum austrokoreense and Goodyera schlechtendaliana. The floristic regional indicators plants found in this survey area were 30 taxa comprising 5 taxa of grade IV, 6 taxa of grade III, 7 taxa of gradeII and 11 taxa of gradeI. Based on the list approved for delivering overseas of plants, 42 taxa were recorded in the surveyed area. The target plants adaptable to climate change were 4 taxa such as Abies koreana, Acotinum austrokoreense and so forth. The naturalized plants were 11 taxa including Cerastium glomeratum, Oenothera biennis and so forth.

National medical bill is amounting 31 trillion, equivalent to about 8% of GDP. And Japanese poeple are beginning to doubt the western medical system that depends upon drugs and operations. They are seeking another method of treatment. It is well known the forest has many healthy and recreation benefit. Now I would like to talk about the benefits of forest therapy.
Overuse and damage to natural resources from inappropriate visitor behavior is a type of social dilemmas faced by many recreation areas. Social dilemmas in natural recreation resource management are the conflict between the individual's own benefit and that of the collectivity. Social dilemmas may be defined by two properties : (1) Each individual in a group receives a higher payoff for a socially defecting choice than for a cooperative choice, regardless of others' choices, and (2) each individual receives a higher payoff if all group members cooperate than if all defect. There are two approaches to solve the social dilemmas in National Parks, the structural solutions and the individual solutions. Establishment of superordinate authority, selective incentives, and privatization of common resources are included in the structural approaches, while face-to-face interaction and communication among group members in the individual approaches. To aid in generalizing from specific results to other situation, data from laboratory and field experiments are interpreted in the light of social dilemma theory.
To improve the understanding and predicting power of littering behavior in natural recreation areas, a model was proposed based on the theory of reasoned action by Fishbein and Ajzen. Among the visitors of Kaeryongsan National Park in Korea, three hundred and ninety nine (399) groups were interviewed to obtain such data as beliefs about the behavioral consequences, attitudes, normative belief, socioeconomic status and etc. A significant but practically weak relationship was found between beliefs, normative belief and past behavior (R=0.3). Using Logit analysis, past behavior could be explained with relevant variables in an acceptable power ($R^2$=0.35). In the model, education, social group, occupation, age and visiting frequency were all negatively related to past behabavior. Beliefs and normative belief also behaved as expected by the theory. The study results show that the theory may be useful in predicting the undesirable behaviors in recreation areas and establishing management policy to control them. The cause of weak relationships between relevant variables were discussed and future research implications were also suggested.
