  • The multifamily housing has various advantages in construction cost, land-use intensity. KRIHS(1997) recommended the proper scale of th multifamily housing as 800 households in constructability, 1,000 households in facility compactability, 500 households in social aspect. At the early planning stage of project, the size of the multiftmily housing has, until now, been maximizingly considered under the regulation on which has been emphasized at the building volume ratio, land area, etc., except for the expenditure during the maintenance stage. This paper aimed at providing the proper size of multifamily housing in aspect of area and household number with maintenance cost at the early stage of project. For these, it took 곧 average cost function which is made from the 3-rd quardratic form and analyzes the unit increasing rate of the average cost. It surveyed in nationwide focused on the central heating system using diesel and kerosene. The number of samples is 88 and items of management cost is 11. The results are as follows ; first, 3rd-order quadratic function is proper at explaining the cost variation, considering the multicollinearity and statistics. Second, the proper size of multifamily housing is recommended with 83,000 $m^2$ on management area, 820 or over the 2,630 household number in aspect of total management cost.

  • In this study a system for the treatment or recyling of organic wastes from both urban and rural area was recommended. It was developed based on the resource recovery system regarding human being by four tectnologies; forage, methane production, high-grade composting and complete decomposition. High quality compost can be produced by combining several kind of wastes produced from urban and agricultural areas. High quality compost must possess not only general characteristics of ordinary compost, but also a superior ability to improve the soil properties and must contain more nutrients for plant. Cedar chips were recommended as the main bulking agent to adjust moisture contents and air permeability. Charcoal and zeolite can be used not only as the second bulking agent but also as fertilizer for improve the soil amendment. Complete decomposition of organic wastes is defined by organic matter being completely converted to $CO_2$ and water. All the input water was evaporated by the heat produced through the oxidation of organic matter, In the present study, the complete treatments were successfully achieved for Shochu wastewater, swine wastes, thickened excess sewage sludge, wastes produced by Chinese restaurant and anaerobic digested sludge. First of all, recycling center of organic wastes should be established for the protect the environments and effective recovery of organic resources. This may means the way to derive the recovery of human value.

  • Objective: This study presents the effect of visual feedback on one-hand gesture performance in vision-based gesture recognition system when people use gestures to control a screen device remotely. Backgroud: gesture interaction receives growing attention because it uses advanced sensor technology and it allows users natural interaction using their own body motion. In generating motion, visual feedback has been to considered critical factor affect speed and accuracy. Method: three types of visual feedback(arrow, star, and animation) were selected and 20 gestures were listed. 12 participants perform each 20 gestures while given 3 types of visual feedback in turn. Results: People made longer hand trace and take longer time to make a gesture when they were given arrow shape feedback than star-shape feedback. The animation type feedback was most preferred. Conclusion: The type of visual feedback showed statistically significant effect on the length of hand trace, elapsed time, and speed of motion in performing a gesture. Application: This study could be applied to any device that needs visual feedback for device control. A big feedback generate shorter length of motion trace, less time, faster than smaller one when people performs gestures to control a device. So the big size of visual feedback would be recommended for a situation requiring fast actions. On the other hand, the smaller visual feedback would be recommended for a situation requiring elaborated actions.

  • Recommendation systems help users by suggesting items such as products, services, and information. However, most research on recommendation systems has not considered people's moods although the appropriate contents recommended to people would be changed by people's moods. In this paper, we propose a situation-based recommendation system which exploits people's mood. The proposed scheme is based on the fact that the mood of a user is changed frequently by the surrounding environments such as time, weather, and anniversaries. The environments are defined as feature identifications, and the rating values on items are stored as feature identifications at a database. Then, people can be recommended diverse items according to their environments. Our proposed scheme has some advantages such as no problem of cold start, low processing overhead, and serendipitous recommendation. The proposed scheme can be also a good option as of assistance to other recommendation systems.

  • Due to recent rapid growth of mobile market, the modern people increasing make use of mobile contents as a means to obtain the desired information quickly by overcoming various restraints of a computer. The wide range of recommended contents, however, takes much time in selection of contents. To resolve such issues, a system that predicts the contents desired by the user and makes an accurate recommendation is necessary. In this paper, in order to provide the desired contents in line with the user demands, a method to increase select the number of recommendation using cooperative filtering is proposed. In the first step, the categories are formulated with super-classes and the similarity between the target customer and users is found, and the nearest-neighbors are constituted to find the preference predictions between super-classes, and the super-class with the highest resulting value is recommended to the target customer. In the second step, the preference predictions between sub-classes are found and the sub-class with the highest value is recommended to the target customer. In the experiment, mobile contents are recommended through super-class-based cooperative filtering, and then the mobile contents are recommended through sub-class-based cooperative filtering, and sub-class collaborative filtering method to select a high number of verification.

  • Several working fluids for Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) were recommended by many researchers. However, the recommended optimal working fluids were not exactly same because the operating conditions of ORC and application were different. The major parameter to select the working fluid for ORC was the temperature of available thermal energy. In this study, low-grade thermal energy was used for the heat source for ORC and the appropriate working fluids were searched among 26 candidate working fluids. The requirements to be a working fluid for ORC were reviewed and the cycle analysis for simple cycle was conducted with $75^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$ at the turbine inlet and exit, respectively. R600, R601, toluene were best candidates if the system could work without leaking the working fluid. Next, R236ea, R245ca, R245fa were recommended because they are not inflammable working fluids as well as better efficiency.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine if international guidelines differ in their recommendations concerning additive therapy for advanced, but potentially curable, gastric cancer. A systematic search of the English and German literature was conducted in the databases Medline, Cochrane Database, Embase, and PubMed. The search terms used were 'guidelines gastric cancer,' 'guidelines stomach cancer,' and 'Leitlinien Magenkarzinom.' Six different guidelines published after January 1, 2010, in which the tumors were classified according to the seventh edition of the TNM system (2010), were identified. Although the examined guidelines were based on the same study results, their recommendations concerning accompanying therapy for gastric cancer differ considerably. While perioperative chemotherapy is recommended in Germany, Great Britain, and large parts of Europe, postoperative adjuvant radiochemotherapy or perioperative chemotherapy is recommended in the USA and Canada. In Japan, postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended. The results of identical studies were interpreted differently in different countries. Since considerable effort is required for each country to separately test relevant studies for their validity and suitability, an international cooperation could simplify the creation of a common basis for guidelines and contribute to improved comparability of international guidelines.
